Government Approval Is Essentially Neutral

SYMONE SANDERS-TOWNSEND---The Albanese government has now sits at 46% approval versus 47% disapprove and 7% don't know or neutral. This is slightly lower than a month ago but reflects that Californians generally aren't feeling the positives. But it's still better than the CDP, who have 75% against them. With almost 28% going with smaller parties, it's clear the mixed member system of voting (adopted in 1996) has resulted in people feeling comfortable with generalized coalitions. The CLP-Green coalition is just as popular as the majoritarian governments before 1996.

UoD Leader toppled
Terence Fitzcharles was today toppled as leader of the UoD in a surprise vote by UoD MP's. He was toppled amidst the lastest poll in the long term collapse in UoD political polling as they struggle to find an identity losing the centre right to the Moderate Party and the right wing of the party to Unus. The party now faces a struggle between the centre right and right wing wings of the party with the right wing supporters arguing the party needs a tougher stance on immigration and more national conservative stance to combat the bleed of voters on the right wing to Unus while the centre right argue that doing so would only increase the bleed of centre right support to the Moderate Party arguing instead there needs to be a return to the centre of politics and reduction in pro-tax cut and more austerity agenda.

The party has been reported to be in civil war with analysts describing the party as a party on death row. The party has been suggested to be close to imminent collapse or split with a potential power gap appearing in the centre right of politics if that occurs.

Four left-wing parties form electoral alliance

The Green Party of Elthize, the Elfiz Party, the Democratic Socialists of Elthize, and the Communist Party of Elthize have announced their electoral alliance for the July general elections in a joint conference held this morning at Forecoaster. The alliance, called UnitedLeft, aims to run on a common leftist political agenda and bring a leftist government to Elthize for the first time since 2002.

The alliance comes after a series of negotiations which lasted for weeks. All four party leaders were present at the conference. Matthew François, leader of the Green Party, unveiled the logo and name of the electoral alliance alongside Meti Adebayo (formerly Kendall Hudson), leader of the Elfiz Party, Melissa Chai, leader of the Democratic Socialists of Elthize, and Leon den Hollander, chairman of the Communist Party of Elthize.

The upcoming election will be the first time the Elfiz Party participates in national elections. Previously, the party only operated in the province of Southern Counties, formerly known as Hunnicutt. When asked about the change, Adebayo stated that the party's previous decision to only run in the Southern Counties was a "grave mistake". "Every Elfiz from Ackerson to Montgomery needs to be represented," Adebayo continued.

The real star of the show, however, was Melissa Chai, the presidential candidate of the alliance. "Our country is in dire times," is how Chai started her speech. She continued, "For three decades, we have endured ultra-capitalist, inhumane, and exploitative liberal regimes that have drained the life out of our fellow Elthic working class. Today is the day we set aside our ideological differences and say 'Enough!'"

Melissa Chai, the current mayor of the city of St. Lucas, first assumed office in 2013. She is highly regarded by the people of St. Lucas for her generous social programs, which have also gained attention across Elthize following the economic crisis that affected the country from 2008 to 2011. Her campaign comes after eleven years of speculation about her possibly seeking a position in the national government.

Martha Krystoff, the governor of St. Lucas, endorsed Chai and UnitedLeft for the 2024 elections. She stated that the alliance is "what our nation needs right now."

"Elthize, you have seen the work I have done for St. Lucas. Now it's your turn. It's time to vote for a government that cherishes and prioritizes life above all else." The room roared with applause the moment Chai ended her sentence.

Scottish Elections: Labour-SNP likely

EDINBURGH---The Scottish Parliament is currently dissolved ahead of the May election. As of now, Labour is on 26%, the SNP have 24%. Scottish Tories have 18%, Scottish Lib Dems have 12%, Greens also on 12%, and various parties and independents collectively make 8%. Politics on this side of Hadrian's Wall seems to reflect an electorate that is moderately progressive; the SNP hasn't successfully linked progressivism with Scottish identity, like Nicola Sturgeon did. Labour, on the other hand, seems to be enjoying a slight Westminster bump but plainly has work to do.

The cities of Liberec and Ústí nad Labem and the towns of Aš, Český Těšín, Znojmo, Břeclav, Hodonín, Děčín and the surrounding areas granted a Special Economic Zone status

President Albína Reiserová has signed a law granting Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status to the city of Liberec and Ústí nad Labem and the towns of Aš, Český Těšín, Znojmo, Břeclav, Hodonín, Děčín and the surrounding areas of these municipalities. This comes together with the adoption of the nationalization plan of the entities based in Bricston, Inquista and Yosai. According to the plan these entities will be the last to be nationalized by 31 December 2025 and will be entitled to compensation for 100% of value of their property at the value at the time or nationalization, determined by the Czechoslavonic Statistical Office, the same renumeration that Czech private entities were and are entitled to. All concerned entities will be entitled to the compensation as long as they do not commit the crime of complicating or frustrating the process of nationalization.

However the new Special Economic Zones offer private Czech, Breikish, Inquistan, Yosainese and potentially Istkalenic entities the opportunity to still directly operate in Czech Slavia as long as the direct operations are restricted to the SEZs. The SEZ status has been granted to the municipalities until the year 2050. All private entities operating withing the SEZs will have to be consulted by the end of the year 2045 at the latest, if the SEZ status will not be prolonged to a given municipality.

The Ministries of Regional Development, Industry and Trade and Agriculture, as well as the Revolutionary Trade Union Movement and the regional, city and town councils of the concerned municipalities have issued a common statement, which recalls that 'every single individual in our insitutions could not stop themselves from crying happily upon laying their eyes on the ingenious proposal by the Bright Sun of the Nation, beloved comrade Reiserová, who has worked many days and nights without rest on the textm writing it in her own hand.' The statement expresses strong belief that the granting of the SEZ status is a correct step in building a prosperous socialist economy and will allow the Democratic Republic to overcome all issues caused by foreign industrial sabotage.

Preachers of the Rodnovery religious movement shall no longer reject any person with significant Slavic genes based on genealogical requirements

The Rodnovery religious movement has adopted its first rule restricting its preachers ability to reject potential members. According to this rule no person with significant Slavic genes may be denied to become a member of the Rodnovery religious movement based on genealogical requirements. Accepting new members however still remains to the preachers, including the determination of what 'significant' means. The only definition provided centrally is that significant means less then a half or more. Accepting people with no Slavic ancestry depends on the decision of the particular preacher.

Some of the former preachers have expressed belief that one of the members of the movement is now forcing their ideological views upon the religious movement, restricting the preachers abilities to refuse those who are not fully or mostly Slavic. The leadership of the Rodnovery movement has denied that the change is driven by ideology or a result of push of a singular member of the movement, but by a more correct understanding of the gods' will.

THE GOVERNMENT CALLS EUROPEAN ELECTION BETWEEN 6 JUNE AND 9 JUNE

The Spanish citizens will head to the polls between Thursday and Sunday to elect their Councillor for the next five years

Nothing was clear about holding European elections, with nothing meaning nothing in this case, but the puzzle has been solved: Spain will head to the polls between 6 June and 9 June to elect (or re-elect) their European Councillor. President Alberto Núñez Feijóo has announced his decision this morning, after being inquired by the press, and has already confirmed the People's Party candidate and Eurogroup affiliation: «the Speaker of the European Council, Donald Tusk, will be our candidate; and he will run under the affiliation of the Eurgroup he leads, the European Progressive Alliance».

The reasons behind the call to the polls are still unknown, but some political advisors consider that Feijóo wants a victory that reaffirms him as the President of the nation, months after being elected by the Congreso de los Diputados after Juncker's resignation. He has not, just like his predecessor, been elected by the Spanish people, who elected Jesús Aguilar nearly two years ago. «Feijóo has had a victory in Galicia thanks to the majority his sucessor, Alfonso Rueda, has achieved; but he needs an election that ratifies his leadership in the entire nation, not in a single region. The question is: will he succeed, or will he make Tusk lose his job and the Speakership that he and Spain hold?», comments Europa Press' political analyst.

Albeit is the move worth the risk? Europa Press has tried to contact the current Speaker and Councillor for the Kingdom of Spain, Donald Tusk, unsuccessfully; but it has managed to speak to one of his advisers. Being asked the very same question, his adviser told us Mr. Tusk "does not fear the will of the people" and that he (the Speaker) and his team were convinced "they would win by a landslide". The opposition, on the other hand, have welcomed the election but criticised Feijóo swerves in his opinion, confusing them and not allowing opposition parties to prepare, putting the bloc in what they call "an unfair position".

Construction starts on E1 Motorway and SET lines
Construction has began on the E1 motorway with a projection of the toll motorway being completed within 3 years and a projected cost 12 billion Euros equivalent. The construction has began on both ends of the Mumba to Agra section with plans to start construction of the Agra to Sarghoda section in the middle of this year. The constustion of the first SET high speed line has begun from Muma to Sarghoda. The Line is also expected to complete in 2 years time. The land has been secured for both projects. The projects are expected to solve traffic congestion issues and boost the economy of the country.

Brætha to convene war cabinet over international interference

The Brætha have voted to assemble a war cabinet regarding the actions of the United Kingdom during the Aspernian Schism. The War Cabinet will conduct an independent investigation into whether the actions of international bodies warrant a declaration of war.

The decision to convene the war cabinet is not one that is taken lightly by most governments. The consequences of a war for Sertia would be dramatic and the government have previously indicated that "any decision will likely be non-combative".

Declarations of war in Sertia do not necessarily mean there will be fighting. Rather, declaring war opens up powers of the government such as the National Emergency Protocol and measures to protect public safety. Declarations of war also enable the government to provide urgent humanitarian support abroad.

It is not clear what the viewpoint of the Spanish Government is on this point, but they will likely be less than willing to engage in combat on Sertia's behalf.

Probe rocket reaches space

Surrey Space Center, November 19 2023 | The KRSA's Probe mars rocket has successfully reached space in its 2nd Integrated Flight Test. The launch was streamed live in various platforms, where various improvements and changes to the craft and the launch structures were observable. A successful hot-stage separation was conducted and all engines were able to operate properly throughout the flight, but with the first stage being detonated a few moments after the separation. A slight communication issue moments after the second stage reached space also prompted speculations that the mission was unsuccessful, but were eventually dismissed once contact was reestablished. A post-mission report showed that failures were mostly observed following the stage separation, but the mission was declared successful by the flight directors. In a subsequent press conference, it was also announced that the rocket will be given a new more name before its' next launch, which would be 'more appropriate to its power'. Because of this mission, the rocket now boasts as the most powerful spacecraft to ever reach space.

The President in a press conference today commented on the harsh immigration policies brought about by the Lavoie Administration. On being asked about his harsh stance on immigration, he replied that it is about safety. "Our country's immigration system may seem harsh by European standards, but all we want to do is make sure the country is safe and does not degenerate. In many countries, thousands of illegal immigrants can waltz into their country without any legitimate documentation while claiming refugee status without legitimacy. It's really, it's a failure of the immigration system in those countries. We allow refugees into the country. We are not opposed to that in any shape or form. But we do not support illegal immigration, and that is a stance that will not change regardless of the administration. And it's not like we're opposed to immigration. This country is a nation of immigrants. But they have to come in legally."

Treaty of Tellum Ratification Resolution Passes National Congress after Intense Negotiations and Passing Stronger Electoral Reform for 2024

In a historic session held yesterday, both houses of the National Congress came together to pass two pivotal pieces of legislation, marking a significant milestone in the nation's political history. The Treaty of Telum Ratification Resolution and the Democracy & Stability Act were met with bipartisan support, signaling a renewed commitment to international cooperation and a more inclusive democratic process.

The Treaty of Telum, a landmark international agreement aimed at fostering peace, security, and cooperation among participating nations, has been under careful consideration by the National Congress for the past several months. After thorough deliberations and discussions, legislators reached a consensus, recognizing the mutual benefits of ratification. This monumental decision solidifies the nation's commitment to global stability and collaboration on key international issues, where the Commonwealth would be placing in a different political playing field where it would have a member of ECON in the north (Yosia) but Minister of Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini reassured members of the National Congress in both houses Foreign Affairs Committee in saying that the relations between Leagio and Yosia will not having any sudden deterioration in how the countries committed to trade and the Southern Europe Universal Rail that connects the two with Ethize and the Duxburian Union to transport freight and passengers. The treaty puts Leagio in a defensive alliance with Spain, Inquista, Duxburian Union, and North Diessen. The Treaty also provides benefits that involves Artabanos Canal, Suez Canal, and the Strait of Gibraltar which are waterways that Commonwealth trade depends upon for a majority of its overseas shipping.

Simultaneously, the passage of the Democracy and Stability Act marks a significant step towards modernizing the nation's electoral system. Inspired by successful models from around the world, the bill introduces a Proportional Representation (PR) District method for the House of Councilors, aligning with contemporary democratic practices where the size of the House of Councilors will be reduced to a base number of 500. This reform addresses long-standing concerns regarding the fairness and accuracy of representation in the House of Councilors, creating a more inclusive political landscape. By adopting the PR District method, the National Congress aims to better reflect the diverse perspectives and interests of the nation's citizens, ultimately strengthening the democratic foundation of the country and allowing more connectivity with the people that the Councilors represent. The number will also take effect for representation to be provided to the Project Wayside community that will be renamed to Oko City and be represented in the National Congress as a state of the Commonwealth separated from the State of Arlick. The action comes as the referendum that took place named Project Wayside as Oko City with a majority wanting statehood, which the Arlick state government decide to make approval of and got the approval of the National Congress. Oko City will officially run as a state with its own elected government after the 2024 National Election. In the results census completed last year, the new coming State of Oko City will have 6 seats in the House of Councilors which will increase the total new starting number of the House of Councilors to 506 for the 2024 Election.

The Democracy and Stability Act also included many different provisions of the method of Proportional Representation and elections for positions in the European Union. One of the important regulations created were on political alliances, where the act established that parties in alliances can decide if they want to distribute seat separately from alliances during the calculations. The national vote threshold was kept at 2% for individual parties and 6% for alliances, which will be calculated with the Modified Saint League Method. However, if a party that has 2% of the national vote does not receive a seat and is not in a alliance, then they will be qualified to receive subsides at the amount that is given to minority interest political parties until the next election unless they run into the same situation. In addition, the Leagio voter will be allowed to cast four different types of votes with minor differences. The First two relate to their first choice of party and person and then a second preference with the same types. The purpose of the second preference is if mainly the party that someone votes does not make the 2% threshold, which at that point will be redistributed to the voter’s second preference of both party and person. In addition, the act authorize funding grants to political parties and alliances that help elect independent affiliated candidates into the National Congress.

One of the key factors that led to the successful passage of the Electoral Reform Bill was a strategic political maneuver. Conservative members of Mouri-Kudo's party, recognizing the importance of the Treaty of Telum Ratification Resolution, entered into negotiations that resulted in a historic deal. As part of the agreement, they supported the electoral reform, paving the way for a more balanced representation in the House of Councilors. The successful passage of both the Treaty of Telum Ratification Resolution and the Electoral Reform Bill put into question the path of the Commonwealth and the stability of the Progressive Alliance Party as Mouri-Kudo had to make direct concessions to the conservative faction of her own party to achieve what she made as a campaign promise that she needed to fulfill before the Primary elections for both the office of President and Governor-General (which Mouri-Kudo’s party hopes to gain as it is a consider a vote in the Senate).

For matters relating to EU elections, the Democracy and Stability Act changes to where the the Foreign Affairs Commission is elected by the National Congress by Instant Run-off, the Premier Commissioner is elected by first-past-the-post in the order of placement, and the Internal Affairs Commissioner is elected in the order of placement as the Premier Commissioner.

Polls show that a majority of Leagioans approve of the Democracy and Stability Act and the passage of the Treaty of Tellum Ratification Resolution that was passed, but many criticize the hoops that had to be made by Mouri-Kudo in a political fight that should have to last for two whole months entirely since the presentation of the ratification bill back in the summer.

Yosainese Trade in the Mediterranean

The cargo ship the Atoyumaru will be making its way over from the Yosainese naval base of Shimisu in Southern Shannon. The Atoyumaru will be transporting sensitive military cargo to their allies in Mishar. This is ahead of negotiations between the two nations of the Mishar Republic and the Federal Republic of Yosai in regards Yosai negotiating trade investment of Yosainese military manufacturers setting up manufacturing plans in the Mishar Republic, a deal in which if it goes ahead would have months of inventory ahead of time from the goods already transported.

Yosai from today is set to begin trade in the Mediterranean Sea as it is going to be transporting goods from Tokyo to Praling. Yosai has recently purchased in Praling and intends to ship goods from Shannon County, UK to Pralinng Mishar via the Mediterranean Sea via military naval convoy to protect from interference of trade and seizure from pirates and other non-recognised and non-state actors.

His Majesty, Jean IV, officialises his abdication

Jean IV sends an official note to Gaston of Vierthune, Seneschal of the House of Electors, announcing his intention to abdicate

On June last year, the sovereign announced his upcoming abdication due to poor health. As it was later known, Jean de Mérignac-Ponton was diagnosed in early 2021 with early-stage Parkinson's Disease. Due to this reason, and in order to focus on his fight against the disease's effects, his majesty decided to abdicate the throne so that the constitutionally foreseen process can start to elect a successor.

In spite of an abdication being expected to occur last year, a sudden episode of epilepsia that left the monarch incapacitated for some months and a slow recovery impeded the proper procedure to be followed. After this official note to the Seneschal, the House of Electors is exected to be convened in late september/early october to vote on a successor.

While it is still too early to talk about prospective contenders, speculations seem to point mostly towards Princess Grace of Poiret, as well as King Maximilian of Voorland who is seen as the candidate representing the interests of Dutch-speaking nationalists as well as Germanic-speaking principalities.

Guthrún Wond has been captured, confirms inland Brætha

Guthrún Wond has been captured by Sertian authorities while attempting to escape the country via Sharlias harbour. He was reported to be travelling with a small company of allies, who have also been taken into custody.

After evading capture in the siege laid on Osperfey, Wond headed west through the towns of Manden, Alspevarias, Sharlias, and Antem Combever. He was seen by some villagers during a detour in the town of Purrage, where negotiations during the Aspernian schism took place. Shortly after arriving back in Sharlias, he was apprehended trying to board a ship under the name of Gideon Mastricht, possessing a fraudulent foreign passport.

The Inland Brætha are expected to refer Wond's case to the Brætha for Justice, who will likely introduce charges of treason for Wond and his accomplices. Meanwhile the nation lets out a sigh of relief at the capture of a government official who descended into crime and treachery.

The Anastacopalan Kingdom has been founded, with George Maxwells as regent

They say second parts are never good, but this time it seems it will be different. With Haaneans, Copalans and Anastasians uniting forces, a glorious victory has been achieved. Finally, after years of fights and prosecution from two different states, the people has got what they have long been awaiting for: independence. A project that started with the secret invasion with sticks and knieves of an inhabited land, which was then built up recreating the old Anastasia and Copala Cities, while building new, modern ones.

An endeavor planned over the past few months, the conquest and establishment of the Anastacopalan Kingdom, organized by a broad front of Copalan and Anastasian associations and parties now united in the Coalition for Independence and Common Prosperity, was led by a small group of one thousand settlers, all former residents of Copala and Anastasia City. These, the first heroes of this new state, steered their way through the treacherous waters of the Mediterranean to land at last on the shores of the Kingdom, there quickly defeating the native tribes to found the cities, New Copala and New Anastasia, in which they now live.

Over the week after this initial victory, large amounts of supplies to construct housing, roads, and basic utilities, in addition to food, arrived with even more settlers by boat, and later by plane, in a process funded in part by the Coalition but also through the philanthropy of the Ueliohen family, which controls a number of international corporations and holds significant wealth. With this support, alongside the work of the arrivals, Anastacopala has already found itself well-developed and welcome to even more settlers, who continue to stream in by the hour.

However, not everything has been done by the Anastacopalan people alone, as it has been mentioned before. Where did they get everything from? The answer, ones again, lies within the deep secrets of European politics, or it used to, just before it is unveiled today: Spain has been key in the success of such an endeavour. The boats, the planes, most of the equipment that was once employed to bring supplies has been leased by the Spanish Government, the first European Government to oficially recognise the nation and that has already sweared to protect Anastacopala from any foreign interferences.

Now, a new horizon can be seen from the hills of the new Mount Rushmore in Copala's Forest (New Copala City), with a prosperous future ahead. The Anastacopalan Kingdom is finally the land many once dreamt, and died dreaming of.
