As many know, we've tasked two committees with the very important job of reworking the EU Constitution and its Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In the past these Committees have made progress but its probably been at least a year since with no updates and no clear efforts moving forward. There are multiple reasons for this but I think the biggest is that a chunk of the Councillors who are members of the committees are no longer present in Europolis or are no longer Councillors.
Here is the membership of each council:
Acwellan Devoy, Duxburian Union
Anatoly Keith, Angleter
Eldert Tristrea, Os Corelia
Dominik Frank, Rhine Ruhr
Dr. Michael Reed, United Kingdom
Kairos Jelesniak, Os Corelia
Laila Zapatero, Occoron
Dr. William Roebuck, Gun-Toting Animals
Nadira Orcello, Pax Aurea
Rushanara Ali, United Kingdom
John Walters, Halsberg
It is my recommendation that Tristrea, Frank and Reed are replaced on the Constitution Committee and Zapatero, Orcello, Ali and myself are replaced on the UDoHR Committee. As leaders of their respective committees, I will allow Councillors Devoy and Jelesniak make the final decision on who they aim to replace and how they fill those spots. Complete inaction should not be tolerated, however.
If Devoy and Jelesniak could give us an idea of what each of their Committees has accomplished so far that would also give us an idea of how much is still left to be done. With this benchmark we will be able to further evaluate the progress of their work. In 4 months time if the work has not been completed or significant progress has not been made, then I think a replacement of leadership of these committees may be in order.
Until then I defer to Devoy and Jelesniak to see how they take this recommendation.
