    Nation Count Slowly Rising

As of 23th February,we currently have 69 nations residing in The United Federation, higher that the 55 nations when the Mikaelson Administration took office. This is due to the consistent effort made by the Chancellor,President and Secretary of State in recruiting since awhile back, all three have been recruiting everyday whenever possible. As Acting Secretary of Interior Chris Mikaelson has announced that the population goal of 70 will soon be reached and encourage everyone to recruit.

    The Arnhelm Treaty Passed

The Assembly of The United Federation has recently passed the Arnhelm Treaty on recruiting, seen in the region as a major step towards further foreign affairs growth. The treaty was passed comfortably, with 2 ayes and 1 abstain, but 0 nays. The move has been welcomed by many in the cabinet, including Chancellor Mikaelson and President Bryan, as well as Secretary of State Bill Dearheart, who proposed the treaty to the Assembly.

**Economy set to soon come online **

The Regional Assembly has recently passed the Treasury Act, seen by many as the first major step towards establishing a regional economy. The act has established the ability of the Chancellor to appoint a Secretary of the Treasury, a major move towards establishing the economy. However, it is undecided as to when to establish the economy, due to the large number of laws which will first need to be passed.

    Contact with the FRA reestablished

Recently the TUF re-established contact with the Founderless Region Alliance, continuing the ear of cooperation that was temporary disrupted due to the TUF's inactivy criss. The Chancellor of the FRA Wopruthien personally came to the TUF to open a new embassy with us and wished us well in our efforts to revival. We in the State Department hope that the Chancellors words come through.

    **Cabinet Reshuffle **

Chancellor Mikaelson recently announced that Blake Hanover will no longer execute the duties as Secretary of Justice for The United Federation. The Chancellor cited the Mr Hanover had been too inactive and called his departure from the cabinet " A step back",he shall be replaced by Charles Telsontair.Several days later Secretary of Interior Cameron Hanover announced that due to an unexpected turn in events in his RL,he can no longer maintain normal activity for sometime. Chancellor Mikaelson decided that an Acting Secretary for Interior is needed to cope with the mounting workload left behind by Mr Hanover. Till he finds a replacement the Chancellor will execute the duties of the Secretary of Interior. We wish Mr Hanover the best!

    Chancellor seizes the WA delegate

On the 1th of February, residents of The United Federation awoke to find someone else holding the position of WA delegate instead of Kornwood. It later turned out that Chancellor Mikaelson had mustered enough endorsements to overthrow Kornwood.Chancellor Mikaelson decided that the inactive Kornwood would endanger the security of The United Federation and therefore took action to prevent such a scenario form ever happening.Since the takeover Chancellor Mikaelson has done some minor changes to the World Entry and has amassed enough endorsements to stay reasonably safe. When asked if he intended to stay long,Chancellor Mikaelson replied that his stay is just temporary until new procedures for selecting a WA delegate is drawn up.

    Economy begins to emerge**

The United Federation has begun the establishment of an economy, with a new bill presented to the house proposing a personal income tax on all citizens. The bill shows promising signs of being passed with alterations, which will result in the first official way of the government earning money within the United Kingdom, as well as aiding the soon to be appointed Secretary of the Treasury to determine how the economy will be structured.
In addition, the first business has been set up within the region, in the form of a bank lead by President Bryan. With any luck, this will be the start of a long and prosperous private sector in the region.
    **Population stabilising **

The population of the Federation has begun to stabilise, with a total of 68 nations so far. The stabilising is widely seen as being a result of less emphasis on recruitment within the region whilst other sectors, such as culture and the economy, are established.
However, with both now becoming more solidly established, it is believed that more emphasis shall be placed on recruitment between now and the next update, with the region expecting an increase in the number of nations we have.

    Europeia State Visit a success**

A state visit was recently held, with 3 leading members of The United Federation government being formally invited as a delegation to Europeia. The delegation, led by President Bryan and also consisting of Chancellor Chris Mikaelson and Foreign Secretary Bill Dearheart, was officially met by President Swakistek of Europeia, as well as many other members of the region in order to discuss ways to improve the population of The United Federation, as well as improving the relationship between our regions. The delegation was warmly received and it is seen as being a success.

    **Population increasing **

Following a stabilisation of our population in the high 60's during our last update, the region has now grown to a new high of 81, an increase of 13 nations, a figure not seen since the re-establishment of the region. We hope to increase the population further to potentially over 100 nations by this time next month, so stay tuned for updates!

    Economy making progress

The economy of The United Federation is set to establish its economy soon, with major work being done by Bill Dearheat and President Bryan. With major bill's either passed or in the progress of being so, it is believed it shall be only a short amount of time before the economy will be set to establish itself.

    Election Changes Little**

Since the last update, The United Federation has held it's second election since it was reestablished, and the results are now in!
Chris Mikaelson has once again been elected Chancellor, with Bryan as his President, by 66.7% of the total vote, considered a landslide. Chancellor Mikaelson has now begun his second term, with an unchanged cabinet, as was expected.
In the regional Assembly, there was again little change, with two of the three previous members, Bill Dearheart and Bryan, being elected once again. Charles Telsontair, who did not run for re-election, has been replaced by Kogvuron.
Together, these three candidates have secured a combined total of 100% of the vote.

    Challenges for the government

So it's a new term, now what? Well, we will no doubt want to increase our population, which more then doubled this term. We also aim to attract more people on to the forum and increase forum activity overall, with a variety of ideas being suggested as to how.
Continuing the efforts from last term, the legislature is already working once again on the economy.
Finally, we also wish to establish more inter-regional relations, as well as strengthen the one's we already have.

    **Increasing Role Inter regionally **

In recent days, The United Federation has increased it's role on the world stage, with new relations having been established with Canada and Ainur. In addition, the region is also in the process of being promoted from Protectorate to full member status of the FRA, thanks to the vigorous campaigning of President Bryan.

    Mikaelson Resignation**

Chancellor Chris Mikaelson has resigned from all roles in the region in order to leave, due to real life. Chancellor Mikaelson thanked all who had served him, as well as a message to continue the work he began in order to make the region grow.
Chancellor Mikaelson's one and a half terms in office are considered a victory for the region, with the population having rapidly grown as well as improved foreign relations and reinstatement into the FRA.
In accordance with the constitution, Mikaelson's President, Bryan, has now become the new Chancellor and upon his promotion, appointed Foreign Secretary Bill Dearheart to President.

    New WA Delegate nation

Upon his resignation from the region, former WA delegate Chris Mikaelson announced that he intended for Bill Dearheart, the newly appointed President, to serve as the WA delegate.
The regions WA nations have rapidly responded and as a result Bill Dearheart's nation, Wethepeople, has been appointed the new delegate.

    Chancellor Bryan begins work

Newly appointed Chancellor has began his work as leader of the region.
Chancellor Bryan has identified his main two new roles as recruitment and foreign affairs, improving upon the work of his predecessor. His main scheme's so far has been to increase the number of regions we have foreign relations with and to work upon an automatic recruitment tool.
