'As outgoing Premier Commissioner I can now declare the results are in and counted and we have an independently verified result. I would like to thank the outgoing commissioners who really put effort into the last term and hope to see such a standard continued.

I will begin the results by first signing the official end of tenure document that disolves the current commission. Signs Paper I Kaegan Hezterbaltz do hereby proclaim the 27th Commission of the European Union dissolved and all offices vacant. With declaration my authority only solely remain to proclaim the following results'

Up on the screen in the public chamber came an infographic with blank spaces reayd to be filled.

'I will now declare the results as given to me by the speaker's office. The first results are for the election to commission with the results configured through the single transferable votes system as per the constitution. This will be read out in rounds. This election had seven rounds in total of STV processing. I will read out the results of each individual round indicating as to whether the round eliminates a candidate for proceedings or enables a candidate the qualifying voting threshold, which has been officially calculated for this election as 2.5 votes, thus electing them to the commission.

So let us begin with round one, this round saw one candidate qualify directly for the commission. With a round one highest total of six council votes I hereby declare BEN REIHER, Independent, elected to the 28th Commission of the European Union.

Cheering and applause broke out in the public hall

Well done Mr Reiher please come and take your seat on the stage. Now onto the second round. This round also saw a candidate reach over the threshold to be elected to the Commission. With a round two highest total of 4.75 council votes I hereby declare ERIC HITCHENS of the Union of European Conservatives, elected to the 28th Commission of the European Union.

Cheering and applause broke out in the public hall

Congratulations Mr Hitchens please come and take your seat on the stage. Now onto round three where again we have a candidate thorough transferred vote go over the required vote threshold. With a round three highest total of 4.942982 council votes I hereby declare MALOULAY PISZCKOSZI, Independent, elected to the 28th Commission of the European Union.

Cheering and applause broke out in the public hall

Well done Mr Piszckoszi please come and take your seat on the stage. Now onto round four, this round is an elimination round as no candidate was able to reach past the threshold for election. For this we turn to the lowest scoring candidate. Retaining only one vote, LUCAS SUAREZ of the Socialists and Democrats Party is eliminated from proceedings.

A modest clap was given in respect to Mr Suarez

With this elimination and the relevant votes transferred in the fifth round a candidate cleared the threshold. With a round five highest total of 2.954008 council votes I hereby declare RAUL MORLAND, Independent, elected to the 28th Commission of the European Union.

Cheering and applause broke out in the public hall

Congratulations Mr Morland please come and take your seat on the stage. So we have three candidates left in the running and only one commission seat left. Round six is an elimination round with no candidate reach the vote threshold. Retaining only 1.424867 vote, BARNEY STINSONS, Independent Communist is eliminated from proceedings.

A modest clap was given in respect to Mr Stinson

With two candidates left I am left in round seven with a candidate reaching the vote threshold to be elected the final member of the commission. With a round seven highest total of 2.857015 council votes I hereby declare CRAIG KIELBURGER, Independent, elected to the 28th Commission of the European Union.

Cheering and applause broke out in the public hall

Just to confirm what is already now known, with only 1.968304 votes JEAN-MARIE L'ARC failed to gain enough votes for election. Here are the full published votes:

We now have our commission on the stage but who is to take over my job. Through the Alternative Vote system the Speaker's office has calculated the results for who is to be elected to the office of Premier Commissioner. This took place in three rounds by an elimination process.

Round one saw a tied elimination with both CRAIG KEILBURGER and RAUL MORLAND having the lowest total votes. In round two MALOULAY PISZCKOSZI was eliminated leaving us with only two candidates in the race for Premier. This final round was a number game. I can declare the final round results as follows: ERIC HITCHENS, Union of Euorpean Conservatives 6 votes. BEN REIHER, Independent 8 Votes. I hereby declare BEN REIHER elected to the post of Premier Commissioner of the 28th Commission of the European Union. Here are the full published results:

I would now like to invite Premier Commissioner Reiher to make a speech to the union.

  • What an extraordinary night! I thank all my supporters who have pushed for my election throughout the Union, and for all those people who voted me. Regular old folks, and politicians alike. Now then some changes are going to be made around here! First off, the drapes in the Premier Commissioner?s offices need some serious changing! Jokes aside, there will be change at Europolis, something that has been long awaited.

First off, I hereby as Premier Commissioner instruct all the secretaries for the Union to not provide a salary for the commissioners. I checked beforehand, and it is logistically in my power considering how vague the budgets by the council are past. We as commissioners are here to serve Europe, its nations, and its people, as such taking a salary for it is idiotic. Being in an elected office is a privilege, not a right or job. All the commissioners here I know are well off enough to pay for their own stay in Europolis, and if they have any problem I will pay for their tenure here myself. All the money directed for Commissioner Salaries and subsidies shall be directed over to less known and/or cared about positions. These people need the money unlike us.

Now onto my goals as commissioner, it is time for us to return to our allies across the world. We have remained silent in the past few months, something that is not healthy for any alliance. I plan to reintroduce the monthly update, as well as will look into opening up more embassies and increasing our ambassadorial staff. There needs to be an overhaul in the office to make it an efficient working body once more. To accomplish this goal, I hereby appoint Commissioner Maloulay Piszckoszi of Angleter as Foreign Affairs Commissioner.

Next on my list here is to continue the economic reforms started by former Commissioner Pickles. Our goal for the next four months is to find ways to improve, inform, and integrate the economies of Europe. This shall be known as the I3 Project, and it will focus on a broad scale to ensure future projects may be able to work for issues such as the Roaming Prices Act. In this office we will also work in ways to outline the budget more easily for the next year, as well as fix the amount of money coming in. Too much money coming in is a bad thing, as this money then needs money to move it back and forth. I hope to install a new system of automatic transfers in order to cut down on movement costs. As such, in order to properly get this ambitious project done I appoint Craig Keilburger as Commissioner for Economics. Oh, we also should get the European Finance Agency elections up and running as well, so Commissioner Keilburger I suggest you get started on that ASAP.

Now onto possibly the most important office for this term, the Office for Defense and Peacekeeping has an essential role. Stop wars, conflict, and civil unrest from happening. Bulgarian and Groot Belgie are at each other?s throats so when I announce this commissioner, I wish for him to hold a summit ASAP in order to attempt to calm relations and reach some agreement. This commissioner also needs to focus on keeping states in line through dialogue not force, and pushing for peaceful solutions to tedious problems while still looking at the ordinary citizen who gets involved. We can?t have wars come to be every two weeks, as such we must stop before serious tension takes place. Nations aren?t good at working out issues themselves as the Groot Belgie incident has shown us, some respectful guidance must be provided. So hence forth I appoint Raul Morland as Commissioner for Defense and Peacekeeping.

Finally, if you have been paying attention Eric Hitchens is appointed as Commissioner for Internal Affairs. I and he share eye to eye on many issues regarding how to deal with the internal politics of the EU, so I look forward to working with him on a nearly daily basis to solve the Union?s problems. I wish for him to open discussions on revamping old legislation and leave the councilors to do the final work themselves. I also wish for him to work with the Commissioner of Defense and Peacekeeping to ensure no violent conflicts take place in the Union, and work with member states to resolve issues that may be affecting themselves only or other states as a whole. I also ask Commissioner Hitchens to look into the concept of a Union-wide requirement of Net Neutrality, as well as stating up the elections for the European Seed Trust Authority. There is a lot more to do in this office that I will elaborate at a future date.

Finally for myself, I plan to be integrated into each this offices and help them in their goals, not slow them down. I will ask for reports, and ETAs on the projects that I announce, and will push for projects to be finished. My job for this commission is to ensure it is effective, neutral, and beneficial for everyone in Europe. Our job is to serve Europe, and my job for this commission is to serve this great commissioners which you have elected as well. I once again thank you all for your support and will look forward to serving you all in the coming months. Great things are planned for this commission I assure you, so please bear with me in this first week or so while I get used to the office. Now I invite my fellow commissioners to make statements of their own regarding what they may seek to accomplish in each office if they choose.

  • THE ELECTIONS WERE RIGGED! RIGGED I TELL YOU! yelled stinsons as he stormed off

  • ECoJ

Hitchens seemed proud as he delivered his statement:
"First of all, I think congratulations are in order. Ben, I think we're going to be able to work together very well in this Commission, and I'm happy to accept the Office of Internal Affairs under his Premiership. Perhaps, next time, we can reverse the roles, eh?", he joked, "I would also like to send my congratulations to my fellow Commissioners: Maloulay, Lucas, Craig, Raul, I know you are all capable men, and you have earned your spot in Commission XVIII. I look forward to working with you all, especially with the Commissioner for Defence and Peacekeeping. Together, I think we can assure this Union never descends into dark conflict again.

As for my own plans, I will of course organise European Seed Trust elections as soon as possible, as the Premier already stated. I will also look into a reorganisation or reinvigoration of the Council's political party structure. It was a downright pity to see the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats' demise, and the overall level of party-affiliated candidates and councillors has gone down drastically, something I don't think is a necessarily good development. I will have to materialise plans for this, but it is an issue I will most definitely look into with much interest.

Reinvigorating old legislation is something I look forward to doing. Long forgone bills like the Marriage Recognition Act, the Phone Roaming Rate Act and others deserve renewed discussion, whether they're controversial subjects or not. I will attempt to work with the Council to this end.

Last but not least, I would like to send my comiserations to Mr Stinsons and Mrs L'Arc. They are worthy candidates, and I would love to hear more from them.

I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me. I will not misuse your trust, that is one promise I will make, and keep."
