    Union of European Football Associations

    FAQ

What is UEFA? The Union of European Football Associations, or UEFA, is the central organization for association football in the European Union and is responsible for international games and competitions in the region. UEFA organizes the associations and leagues of different nations for intra-regional play and championships, including the UEFA Nation's Cup, and the Champion's League.

How does UEFA's systems work? How are ratings given out accordingly to teams? UEFA uses an intense amount of data to ensure the most accurate information on your favorite national and local association football teams. This includes recording the team's record in both friendly and competitive matches, the performance of the team in a competition or championship and other factors that require close scrutiny of said teams at various intervals.

OOC Note: Basically, overall scores are decided based on wins/losses/draws. Friendly matches obviously count less than competitive ones, as friendlies are used to try out new players and strategies/are less important/insert other reason here. Also, doing well in a championship or cup is good for the score, but that's relative. For example, if Germany suddenly did shitty in the World Cup, their score would drop a ton. If it did well, then their score wouldn't go up as high as a less powerful team such as Sudan. If Sudan did well in a World Cup suddenly, then their score would jump up quite a bit than if they never even reached the World Cup.

In addition, roleplaying helps. Roleplaying a team, even if it's what they do off the field, adds more to the experience and "helps give more accurate data" so to speak. Roleplaying will never alter the match scores, as those are finalized before competition begins. However, it may help cushion a team that's poised to fall dramatically in overall score or even give a boost to a team that's doing an average performance. For more details, contact me.

Who is in charge of UEFA? UEFA is ran on a unicameral presidential system, with all national associations receiving a single vote. Major decisions, such as hosting for any major competitions are made by the UEFA Assembly. Currently, the President of UEFA is Tyler Belmont of the United States of Almaniania. The next elections will be held at a time that will be determined shortly.

OOC Note: Me. If you guys have issues with certain things I'll gladly hear you out and try and solve the issue to the best of my ability. However, generally I'm in charge of scorinating things on an OOC level, with everyone who is involved getting to vote on who holds what big title competitions and what not.

When is the next major competition? Could I apply to host it? UEFA tries to run competitions as much as possible to provide for more excitement in the world of association football. Our list of upcoming competitions and championships are below. If there isn't a host name next to it, you can fill out one of our applications below to apply to host!

I would like for one of my nation's stadiums to be used in the Champion's League. UEFA thanks you for your service to our quest to provide the best quality for the greatest game ever created! For more information, speak to our Broadcasting Department for more information.

OOC Note: Come speak to me. I'm more than sure I'll need some help with this.

    Nation: Duxburian Union

    Association Name: Dominion of Football

    Year of Establishment: 679

    Association Representative: Kris Jenson

Historical Summary: The DoF was founded in 680 by a set of 8 football clubs. The Dominion expanded to 16 teams in 693, 24 teams in 725, and finally to its current 32 team roster in 772. The DoF operates two association football leagues with 16 teams in each. The Blackstone League is widely considered the upper level and the Whitestone League is widely considered the lower level, although there is no formal difference on paper.

The DoF also manages pro leagues for Duxburian Football and Aelirian Football, derivative games based on association football.

    Detailed Summary: N/A

    Date: 204th, 824

    Nation: Duxburian Union

    Association Name: Dominion of Football

    Venue Names and Locations:

    Grand Central Stadium, Verington

    The Citadel, Dairghazbury

    Death Valley, Laatzalveria

Venue Appearances: RL stadiums? How boring! 99% of real stadiums look like shit or are cookie cutter steel/concrete with no soul.

    Seating Capacity:

    120,000 - Grand Central

    112,000 - The Citadel

    98,000 - Death Valley

    Other Information:

Grand Central Stadium is the largest football venue in the Duxburian Union. This elegant, richly-decorated, transit-themed stadium is one of the original DoF venues and was constructed in 683. The stadium is surrounded by a grassy park and is flanked by Grand Central Terminal and Pennsylvania Terminal.

The Citadel sits atop a blackstone outcrop on the northern end of the Capital Promontory. The jet-black stadium sits on a site that was once part of Dairghazbury's defensive fortifications. Constructed in 124, this is the oldest sports venue in use by the DoF and one of the country's finest examples of imperial Lucian architecture.

Death Valley is one of the original DoF venues and was constructed in 681. It is notable for actually being carved into the walls of a narrow valley. The stadium's desert location allows for summer highs to soar into the 120s, giving it a deadly reputation until the installation of a retractible roof and air conditioning in 788.

    Date: 204th, 824

    Nation: Duxburian Union

    Association Name: Dominion of Football

    Club Name: Kendrevaria United

    Head Coach: Jason Vandel

Qualification Type: Defeated the Verington Bay Hammerheads, 3-2 in the 824 Landry Cup final. Won their 15th league championship.

Historical Summary: Kendrevaria United is one of the original 8 football clubs in the DoF, founded in Varia in 678. The team plays most home games at 58,000 seat Challenger Stadium, famous for its extremely high altitude, summer thundersnow, and dazzling drop off featuring the city skyline. KU is now tied with Dairghazbury for the most championships of any team in the DoF. The kit colors are dark green and white. The crest is a Kendrevarian valkyrie flying in a thundersnow storm.

Other Important Info: This is Coach Vandel's 3rd year with the team and 824 is his 2nd championship. Vandel focuses on fundamentals and variety, frequently mixing up his formations. He trains the club for heat at Laatzalveria's Death Valley and sea level altitude at Norimere's Roundhouse, allowing their respective clubs to train at Challenger Stadium in return. Vandel prefers to play aggressive possession football and is notorious for intensely drilling and even dropping players with inconsistent ball handling skills.

The team excels on set pieces with well-rehearsed and creative touch sequences. The striking core has great patience in front of the net, controlling and passing the ball for multi-touch goals, avoiding bad or rushed shots. KU strikers prefer to setup a multi-touch scoring chance even on a breakaway.

The Midfield is extremely flexible. Due to the physicality of the club, its long passing game, and its ball handling skills, the midfield can sometimes be depopulated in favor of both ends. Every player except the keeper has midfield position training.

The KU defense is a rugged, aggressive unit that does not give opponents time or space to setup their attacks. KU defenders train in some of the most challenging conditions out of all DoF clubs and are renowned for their altitude-enhanced endurance. Defensemen originally intending to take a ball to the wing often find themselves on-goal. 4 different defensemen scored goals in the 824 regular season and 2 in the playoffs.

Kyle Kane is the current starting goalkeeper. He only allowed 4 goals in the playoffs and was electrifying all season long, consistently making difficult saves against elite Duxburian strikers. Kane is only 22, but plays with confidence more typically seen in veteran keepers. He's also a fan favorite who lives in a middle class Varian neighborhood and donates 75% of his large salary to charity and community initiatives. In 821, he permanently bought out the seating section behind the home net for fans to enjoy free, on a first come, first served basis.

    Date: 207th, 824

Other Important Info: Nearly three percent of the ice in Antarctic glaciers is penguin urine.
