Traditions and folklore of Sildavia

Sildo-RTV, in Teutoburg, Deutschland county, Federated Kingdom of Germania
Our country is a true melting pot of cultures, traditions folklore and languages.
Although there is a common Sildavian spirit, which unites all people in the memories of a past gone through together, a present worked and lived together, and a future dreamed and projected together, each State, each county or district maintains and preserves the roots of the settlers who came two thousand years ago and brought with them the traditions and culture of their old country.
Mayday is a popular celebration all over Sildavia. In the counties of Galia and Belgia will be marked by the present of a “bouquet de muguettes de bonheur”, the First of May lilies of the valley, cut during last night. It was Beltaine’s Night, the Night of Bel’s Fire, and the flowers are a token and omen of luck, good health and happiness for the next twelve months. Ainsi soit-il, nos amis Gallois et Belges. Bonne Fête de Mai à vous!
In the Federated Kingdom of Britania crowds began yesterday evening the popular Mayfairs, with dances around the maypole and a lot of merriness going on. Popular tradition says that children conceived during this night are “merry begotten”, conceived in joy. A lot of fun to our compatriots of fair Britania.
But we are today live from Teutoburg, the capital of Deutschland county and the Federated Kingdom of Germania, headquarters of SILDO-RTV. Today is Maientag in the counties of Deutschland and Österreich, where thousands dance around bonfires and around the Maibaum and its ribbons.
Teutoburg has organised a multicultural Maibaum, with dancers dressed in traditional attires from many different Sildavian counties and districts. Wir wünschen Ihnen einen schönen Maientag, Sildavia and the world!
