Westwood Accord to be Ratified

SACRAMENTO---The meeting with Prime Minister Harris and Leagioan President Mouri-Kado, who was recently re-elected, on the UCLA campus has resulted in a treaty. As it has been for fifty years, it will go for ratification on Monday. All leaders except far-right Lauren Bobert of the CONP agree. It is expected to be a rubber stamp.

"Well, on behalf of the people of California, please...we want you to enjoy yourself," Kamala said. "One factoid for you: until 1901, the general area was called California. Up until then, it was five independent colonies: Jalisco, Colorado or colorful, Arizona or dry zone, Nuevo Andalucia, and Napa. Once federated, they adopted the area name for the whole thing."

"Oh, of course!" Kamala responded. "May I suggest you visit Venice and Santa Monica beaches? And take in Rodeo and Hollywood? It's a lot like London: you need like a week to see everything."

Kamala jumped from the surprise.

"General Secretary Watanabe, Toukyou ni shoutai shite kurete, arigatou. I studied Yosainese in undergraduate studies but I'm rusty," she said. "Ueno Park is so beautiful, I didn't mind the mild infarto (heart attack)."

"Oh, I love kids. Doug's kids, Ella and Cole call me Momala. I never really wanted biological kids; I enjoy being California's fun aunt...the funt as it were. And the cool aunt...the c-...girl."

"Well, I'd like to attend your inauguration," grinned Kamala. "I've always wanted to experience Leagio."

"Yes and I'll encourage BAE Systems California to get involved."

Tokyo, Yosai

PM Kamala Harris had never been to Tokyo until now. Sure, she'd seen Spain, the United Kingdom and Duchies, the Duxburian Union...even Osaka. Tokyo was like Verington. Minus the subterranian level. The sheer amount of buildings was daunting; Los Angeles was a little less concentrated.

"Wow," she gasped breathlessly. One of her aids could tell Tokyo was a lot.

"Oh, we have a tech sector that needs semiconductors. Leagio would be a great partner in that field. And we'd love to increase our non-commercial aircraft with Embraer. The competition with Leer and Honda's aircraft EV would be good." Kamala paused. "I think fair trade for diamonds is appropriate. That trade is so labor intensive, it would be unfair to seek a discount. Digital partnership is a great way to increase job placement opportunities in concert with our education initiative."

"You know, I'd like your opinion on what Leagio excels at and what could be better through trade," stated Kamala.

"Well, I'm a believer in spreading access to education. What I'd like to offer is both a research partnership and a tuition decrease to all of the Cal State and University of California campuses," said Kamala. Her aides gave a silent thumbs up as they walked inside. The Conference Center was pretty plain...nice but plain. The more Kamala talked, the more sorority with another female leader. Europe was a lot more progressive but national female heads of government were not that familiar.

"Anyway, I will personally psuggest Leagio is a good investment. Obviously, I am not an authoritarian so suggest is all I can do."

I get that but instructing and regulation of the sector is cheaper and faster to implement. Besides, Comissioners and their underlings, including the ECB, have yet to prove themselves capable of handling anything. Why should we trust them?

"Welcome to Los Angeles," Kamala greeted warmly, making sure her handshake was firm. "I hope traffic on the 105 & 405 was a little better. Trips in LA that should take half an hour can take two. 86 million people in the whole country. Caramba, traffic is always bad...anywhere."

They were hanging in the outside of the UCLA campus in Westwood. The day was a perfect 20 degrees today. Most of the time in Coastal California, it didn't get wildly hot or cold They were just outside the Conference Center.

"Are you ready to get started?" Kamala asked.

Is this something that MUST be mandated? Banking groups and financial tech entities can handle this.

I can see where consumer protection is necessary but I think it should be paired with standard reform at the national level. That would provide the necessary teeth. I mean...this is well intended but we don't have compliance powers.

Los Angeles-10:30

Prime Minister Kamala Harris was unexpectedly nervous...and as that went, she had sweaty palms and her laugh became a little forced...awkward. The prime ministerial entourage on the train seemingly managed around her. Los Angeles was far better than Sacramento to be a host. Its notorious traffic (and really all of California) demanded they comondere a train. An aid noticed Kamala was nervously retreating internally.

"Madam Prime Minister, is everything alright?" the aid asked. Kamala chuckled a bit.

"You know yes but I could use Doug," she answered. "I don't know why this one is making me nervous." The train followed I-10 to Westwood. They were going to meet the Leagian president at UCLA. Kamala thought the campus was beautiful. It didn't hurt that it was her alma mater.

LOS ANGELES---A 7.0 earthquake rocked the LA Metro area. The San Andreas has been more active as of late and has resulted in many micro-tremors. This was the first larger tremor. It could be felt from Huntington Beach to Oceanside, sparking tsunami warnings..
