2020 IBC EV Music Awards
-
The Inquistan Broadcasting Corporation is elated to announce that we will once again present the semi-annual IBC EV Music Awards show. This year, for the 2020 IBC EV Music Awards, we will celebrate the best EuroVoice acts and performances of 2019!
The IBC Music Awards is an opportunity for the Inquistan musical community to reward and recognize the EuroVoice artists, performers and competition hosts that produced yet another great year of music.
Please join us on January 30th 2020, where the amazing Emma Willis will once again return to host the award show alongside other esteemed guests. The night will be filled with festivities and special musical performances by some of Inquista's best EuroVoice artists, including some of 2019's biggest stars.
See you there!

Emma Willis walks onto the stage to a flurry of applause. Emma laughs and waves to the crowd as she positions herself behind a podium on the centre of the stage.
“Good evening and welcome to the 2020 IBC EV Awards,” Emma smiles as the crowd begin to clap and cheer. “It’s been a minute since we’ve done one of these… and boy, what a year of music to celebrate. I’m really glad that the Inquistan Broadcasting Corporations has brought us back together again to recognize and cherish Europe’s best and brightest talent.”
The crowd clap in unison as Emma grins and nods.
“2019 has been a fantastic year for EuroVoice. We’ve been to Angleter, to Icholasen, and to newcomers Malborya and Gallorum. We’ve had so many amazing artists and acts, I really wish I could list them all here for you.”
As soon as Emma mentioned Gallorum, several members of the audience could be heard jeering.
“Yes, yes, we still don’t know the results from the 37th EuroVoice in Gallorum just quite yet, but we will still celebrate the competition and their artists nonetheless. Don’t worry, I will much more prompt and proactive with the results here tonight. You won’t have to wait long at all.”
Members of the crowd clap as they laugh.
“In fact, we will be going straight to our first category very soon. However, to start off our show tonight, we have our first of many special live performances. Please give it up to EV winner Kane Brown, who will be performing his song What Ifs!”
Emma seems elated as she exits the stage and Kane Brown and his band emerge at the top of the stage.
Kane Brown performs his song ‘What Ifs’.
The audience cheer as Kane Brown thanks and bows to the crowd. Emma emerges on the stage again and stands behind the podium.
“EuroVoice wouldn’t be possible without the amazing host cities and organizers that put on the shows. Due to the thankless work that goes behind the scenes, we were able to enjoy four amazing competitions this past year. 2019’s EuroVoice competitions were truly top notch. Tonight’s first category is the award for the Best Competition.”
“The nominees for Best Competition of 2019 are… Eurovoice 34: Halibon, Angleter… Eurovoice 35: Saint Regina, Icholasen… EuroVoice 36: Aqualin, Malborya… and EuroVoice 37: Entrages, Gallorum. The winner for Best Competition of 2019 is…”

“… EuroVoice 36: Aqualin, Malborya!”Te Deum plays as some irrelevant TV executive from MBOTV comes to collect the award on the stage. The audience cheer but appear to be uninterested in the executive’s speech, which finally wraps up after a short while.

Emma stands at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the main stage as she waves and smiles to members of the audience. “Our next performer is two-time EV legend Rebecca Ferguson, who will be performing her song Glitter & Gold.”
The stage goes dark as Rebecca Ferguson slowly makes her way onto the stage.
Rebecca Ferguson performs her song ‘Glitter & Gold’.
Rebecca Ferguson shyly thanks the audience before exiting the stage. Emma quickly appears on the centre of the stage once again.
“In addition to providing us with amazing live music, most EuroVoice entries also feature accompanying music videos which are released online. Like the music that moves us and brings us to feel the deepest of our emotions, these accompanying music videos produce another layer of storytelling that captures both our minds and our hearts. This next category is for the Best Music Video.”

Colibritany delivers an impassioned speech in Spanish, which none of the Inquistan audience members understand. Looking flawless in her beautiful pink custom made Versace quinceañera dress, the audience clap for Colibritany nonetheless.
-
Emma flashes a wide smile as she stands by the stage entrance. “Please give a warm welcome to EV winner Lana del Rey, who will be performing her song Born to Die.”
The audience cheer as Lana del Rey takes to the stage.
Lana del Rey performs her song ‘Born to Die’.
The crowd give Lana a standing ovation and it takes some time for Emma to reappear on the stage and to settle down the audience.
“One of the most beautiful aspects of EuroVoice is the ability to be vulnerable in any sort of language. EuroVoice overcomes languages barriers and allows us to connect with one another through our shared experiences, despite wherever we might come from. EuroVoice demonstrates time and time again that not only is music is a universal language, but it is also a bridge that connects us all together. This next category is for the Best Foreign Language Song.”
“The nominees for Best Foreign Language Song of 2019 are… Big Bisous by Carlos… La Venda by Miki Núñez… Lola à l'eau by Lola Le Lann… and Rinbu Revolution by Masami Okui. The winner for Best Foreign Language Song of 2019 is…”

Emma waves and then claps as the show continues. “She might not have won EuroVoice, or even come close for that matter, but she certainly took this past summer by storm. She is one of this year’s best new artists who is also nominated for Best Inquistan Artist of 2019. Please give it up for Megan Thee Stallion who will be performing her new song Cash Shit!”
The crowd cheer as Emma darts off the stage and Megan Thee Stallion emerges on top of an elaborate set.
Emma Willis retakes the stage and she applauds the departing Megan Thee Stallion.
“R&B and hip hop flow through the veins of Inquista’s music industry. These are genres of music that, while enjoyed in Inquista, have often failed to gain widespread acceptance or approval in EuroVoice. Genres of music that expose the truth, challenge power and tell vivid stories of humanity’s most raw experiences… are genres that are worth recognizing and celebrating. This next category is for the Best R&B, Hip Hop or Urban Song.”
“The nominees for Best R&B, Hip Hop or Urban Song of 2019 are… Mixer by Amber Mark, Otherside by Young Franco featuring Reva DeVito & Golden Vessel…Twerk by Lady… and You're the One by Kaytranada featuring Syd. The winner for Best R&B, Hip Hop or Urban Song of 2019 is…

The Band Perry organize themselves on stage and begin their performance.
The Band Perry perform their song ‘Better Dig Two’.
The crowd cheer as The Band Perry exit the stage and Emma returns to her podium.
“It’s smart to dig two, because the best things come in pairs… or sometimes more. Some of the best artistic endeavors are combined efforts, as demonstrated by the amazing bands and groups of talent that graced EuroVoice this year. It’s time that we recognize and honour Europe's best artistic group of 2019. This next category is for the Best Band or Group.”

Emma walks across the stage as she waves to the audience. “Please put your hands together for EuroVoice legend and r.obbed q.ueen Alicia Keys, who will be performing her song No One!”
Emma leaves the stage smiling as Alicia Keys wonders onto the scene to a booming applause.

Alicia Keys receives a standing ovation from the audience. Emma walks onto the stage and begins speaking, but Alicia Keys interrupts Emma to deliver a long-winded monologue about loving thy neighbour, forgiveness and something or rather about feeling comfortable in one’s own skin. Te Deum begins to play as Alicia is then escorted off stage and Emma refocuses her attention to the audience, with a slightly embarrassed expression across her face.
“Well, that was truly something… much like the music of 2019. 2019 produced some of the best bops of all time, some of which we still have trapped in our heads. It’s time that we honour the songs that stole our hearts, topped the charts and became popular all across Europe. As far as many are concerned, this upcoming category is for the best overall EuroVoice song of the year. This next category is for the Best Pop Song.”
"The nominees for Best Pop Song of 2019 are… Big Bisous by Carlos... Flying On My Own by Céline Dion… Never Enough by Loren Allred… and Plastic Love by Caitlin Myers. And yes, Never Enough is a pop song, you musically-illiterate Malboryans. The winner for Best Pop Song of 2019 is…

She delivers a speech in English, but none of the Inquistan audience members are able to understand it anyway. The audience cheer and clap for Céline Dion, with several members of the audience yelling out “yaaaas queen” and “slay”.
-
Emma walks onto the stage and seems very visibility excited. “She made her EV debut as a featured artist alongside Megan Thee Stallion this past summer. It’s none other than the Rap Queen herself, Nicki Minaj, who will be performing her song Anaconda.”
Emma departs the stage as an elaborate set is revealed behind her.
Nicki Minaj performs her song ‘Anaconda’.
Nicki Minaj dances off as Emma retakes her position behind her podium.
“Now we’re getting down to the serious stuff,” Emma began as she nodded her head. “We will now be honouring the best solo artists of the past year. There were so many talented acts in 2019, so these nominees truly proved themselves to be the best of the best. However, one male artist truly outshined the rest and proved himself to be the king of EuroVoice. This next category is for the Best Male Artist of 2019.”

-
Emma shimmies her body as she busts out some white girl dance moves on the stage.
“I am so happy to introduce the next performer, who herself is nominated for Best Inquistan Artist of 2019. She’s a radiant light who shines her truth and has sparked a conversation about body positivity… please give it up to Lizzo, who will be performing her song Truth Hurts!”
Emma excitedly hurries off the stage as Lizzo takes to the stage in a wedding dress.
Lizzo performs her song ‘Truth Hurts’.
The audience honour Lizzo with a standing ovation. Members of the audience can be heard whistling and yelling “I love you” you to Lizzo. Lizzo bows and thanks the crowd before Emma manages to calm the audience down and continues the show.
“What a queen, right? Well, now’s the time to honour Europe’s biggest and best queens of 2019. These ladies truly shook up Europe’s music scene this past year, by dominating the charts, giving killer performances, and by giving us all life. There were so many talented female artists this past year, but only one proved to be the queen of all queens, and one of the best performers of EuroVoice history. This next category is for the Best Female Artist of 2019.”

Emma lowers her head and lets out a sad sigh as she retakes the stage. “This unfortunately brings us to final performance of the night. What an amazing night it’s been, hasn’t it? I really wish we had more awards to give out tonight. However, we’ve truly saved the best for last. Our final performance of the evening will come from none other than the most r.obbed EuroVoice performer of all time… please welcome to the stage, Adele, who will be performing her song Hello."
The arena goes dark as a spotlight shines on Adele who begins her performance. The crowd cheer in excitement.
Adele performs her song ‘Hello’.
The crowd cheer as they wipe away their tears from such a stunning performance. Adele thanks the crowd as Emma emerges onto the stage, who also appears to be teary-eyed.
“EuroVoice will forever have a special place in every Inquistan’s heart. Inquista has participated in EuroVoice since the very beginning. We all remember that historic first EuroVoice, where Inquista came last place and Marrakechia rigged the votes, very vividly. 36 more competitions later… and here we are. Year after year, Inquistans continue to pour out their hearts and souls onto that EuroVoice stage. Inquistan artistic talent continues to be the best of the best, having still won the most overall competitions, despite not having won for more than a year now. However, we shall now thank and recognize the best Inquistan artist that graced EuroVoice this past year. This next category is for the Best Inquistan Artist of 2019.”

“… Lizzo!”Juice plays as an emotional Lizzo hurriedly makes her way to the podium to accept her award. The crowd give Lizzo a roaring standing ovation, with everyone on the feet clapping and cheering. Lizzo is overcome with emotion and fumbles her way through an acceptance speech, pretending not to have rehearsed it prior to the show.
Emma eventually retakes the stage shortly after.
“That brings up to the conclusion of the show. Thank you all so much for tuning in tonight. I would like to extend a special thank you to all the special performers tonight, who put on truly magical show for us all. I would like to also thank all the EuroVoice artists and organziers that made this past year of EuroVoice possible. I would like to also thank the Inquistan Broadcasting Corporation for their continued dedication and support for EuroVoice, which is truly the best competition in the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope to see you all again next year. Good night!”
