DAY 1: REVIEW AT SEA
It was a beautiful saturday morning, everything had been prepared according to plan. All 31 Ships of the Royal Navy, Coastguard, and Naval Reserve Force are lined up in formation near the Maine Delta Extension of the port in HMF Brewnest. From a distance, the audience at the coast started hearing "Man the Rails!" from each ship signaling that the event is about to start. Sailors of each ship then fill the rails of their respective ships, dressed in their No. 1A Dress.
sailors of HMS King William manning the railsAfter a few minutes, the guests of honor arrive and board the HMC St. Raphael which took them near the ships. The royal anthem then plays while the HMC St. Raphael and the sovereign's escort HMS Birmington approach the fleet. The sovereign's ship and escort stop in between HMS Buckingham and HMS Gullicken and the king salutes as national anthem plays while saluting cannons from all ships fire simultaneously.
PART 1: SOVEREIGN'S INSPECTION
Music Playing: Heart of Oak - March of the Royal Navy
After the national anthem, the music then changes to the Heart of Oak. Then, the sovereign's ship and escort steams between the bows of HMC Normandy and HMC Pomerania. All sailors of all ships then stand at attention as the king passes by.The sovereign's ship and escort then starts to make their way down the aisle between the ships of the fleet to inspect them. As the king approaches near a pair, he utters "Gratulor nautae mei, tibi gratias agimus pro virtute tua" (I congratulate you my sailors, we thank you for your bravery). The sailors then respond loudly with "Vivat rex, salve rex" (Long Live the King, God Save the King).
Minutes later, the sovereign's ship and escort approaches the end of the fleet line. Both ships then turn around and return to a distance from the start of the line to wait as the second part begins.
