        1ST PRESS CONFERENCE: NOVEMBER 6 2021

Prime Minister Bridges comes into the room and to the podium as reporters stand as sign of respect. He then signals them to take their seats.

PM: Good day people of this great nation. Today marks a new beginning, the beginning of transition and change in our country's history. We have risen to the challenges of time, but have stood despite the challenges and hurdles that have come.

This morning, I have officially occupied my new residence and office as Prime Minister of this country. And with it, I am very thankful and honoured to be rewarded with such prize for my work and service to His Majesty's Government. I hope, that my successors who will occupy this structure in the coming years will continue to be thankful and appreciate the rewards for our effort and hardwork.

To begin this press conference, I would like to announce the upcoming changes regarding the government's activities. First of all, these press conferences will be occurring every Saturday, unless otherwise necessary, to give updates regarding the government's initiatives and the progress that we have made during our term in office.

The Black House will also be open for tourism purposes in certain areas that are open to the public. In these ways, we want to maintain transparency in our work while maintaining national security and interests as something of equal priority. And we assure the public, that this structure is renovated to ensure the safety of all government officials and the continual function of the federal government.

Ministers of the Crown will remain occupying the buildings at Whitehall, except for 10 Downing Street which would be provided as residence and office for the First Minister of South Buckingham. Cabinet meetings will now be taking place at the Sujeongjeon Hall, although some emergency meetings might occur in Whitehall or in available buildings when necessary.

Thank you. Now, I will entertain questions from the press.

CBC: Mr. Prime Minister, what do you think of the recent withdrawal from the Empire of Inimicus of naval ships?

PM: We welcome the responsible actions from the Empire of Inimicus and appreciate their cooperative response to our call for de-escalation.

MBC: The Empire of Inimicus had responded negatively to the government's strong announcement despite withdrawing their naval ships and accused you of shattering the recovering relations with them, what can you say about this?

PM: I'm open to continuing the recovery of diplomatic relations between our countries. I don't believe that it is wrong that we are maintaining peace and stability in the region, as well as responding to our allies' calls as part of our agreements.

KBS: The situation in Istkalen seems to not be minded by the government, is this showing that we will be letting go of them completely soon?

PM: I'm confirming that yes, we are already in the process of fully disintegrating Istkalen as a protectorate.

AN: What were the basis for the government to take this action?

PM: We have monitored the recent situation in Istkalen, and we have also prepared all the basic necessities for self-government. This includes their military and law enforcement. On Monday, we will be requesting the withdrawal of the European Relief Force from Istkalen.

KBS: Last question Mr. Prime Minister, what will we be expecting from the government soon?

PM: The Government will be continuing its legacies and programs that it left off from the past term. We're also opening some newly finished infrastructure and other developmental projects. And, we are also conducting summits with some leaders regarding relations with them and other topics.

Thank you very much for your time, I hope that free journalism will remain this active in more years to come.

ADDRESS ON THE SITUATION IN THE UNITED DUCHIES

Prime Minister Bridges comes into the room and to the podium as reporters stand as sign of respect. He then signals them to take their seats.

PM: Good day people of this great nation. As you may have heard from various news outlets, chaos has struck Anastasia City in the United Duchies. It is in the government's interests to act quickly to address this situation and relieve our people of their worries on the country's safety and security.

We have been shocked by the sudden attacks on the sovereignty of our friends and allies in the Southwestern part of this continent. And for this we condemn those behind this violence who seek to create chaos and instability in the region. Currently, we are cooperating with the Duchian Government on assisting them with ongoing investigation efforts on the situation. The National Intelligence Service has informed us that they will be dispatching teams from the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and the Security Service (MI5) to provide possible relevant information to the attacks which may link to the recent attacks in Copala City, now Caspian City.

In addition, we are also coordinating with the Duchian Government on possible dispatch of military personnel to provide support to the Duchian Coastguard and Armed Forces in securing its borders and preventing the escape of possible suspects. Flights to the United Duchies shall also continue except in airports near Anastasia City, further information about cancellation of flights may be inquired at the website of His Majesty's Government and with your airline.

Finally, we assure all our citizens that there will be no disruption with our maritime trade despite the situation in the United Duchies. Although most of our trade comes from air freight, our maritime trade relies on the United Duchies which hosts our goods to be transported by land or by the canal before transiting to the Red Sea or the Caspian Sea and vice versa. We hope that these assurances will be enough to curb the worries of our citizens and those people who are concerned. Thank you, that is all for now.

STATEMENT TO THE EUROPEAN UNION ON THE MATTER OF THE DIVORCE LAW

My fellow citizens, of the Kingdom of Reitzmag and of the European Union, I send greetings to you all.

It has come to the attention of the Government of the Kingdom of Reitzmag that a bill pending in the European Council was proposed on the matter of legalizing divorce as a human right across the region. The rationale behind this initiative that a legal method of separation should be enforced for the well-being of individuals in marriage is highly appreciated, and I personally commend the advocacy of the Premier Commissioner on the matter.

However, while the rationale is understandably for the greater good and the protection of all parties to a marriage, we do not support the way in which it is being presented. Our government believes that the presentation of divorce, a specific social policy, as the solution to the problem that the bill is aimed at is unacceptable and a blatant violation of national sovereignty.

In our opinion, member-states should decide on the appropriate specific national policy which satisfies the advocacy expressed by the European Union in the laws it creates. We further believe that social policies should exclusively be decided by the national legislatures, befitting the conditions of the people within the member-state concerned.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights should also not be used for any attempt at forcing specific social policies like these, but rather serve as a catalyst for the implementation of policies that protect the well-being of persons. And it is for this reason that the problem with this bill is not an issue of legalizing divorce, but rather an issue of creating precedent of using the UDoHR to force social policies upon the sovereign member-states of the EU.

As such, I'm issuing this stern warning that the Kingdom of Reitzmag has no intention of conforming if such bills enters into force as law, and will not welcome any action from the European Union on the matter. And I issue this stern warning, that I will not hesitate to invoke the powers vested in me as Prime Minister by the Exit from the European Union Act to initiate a national referendum for Reitzmag's official withdrawal from the EU if any intervention on our decision is forcibly conducted.

This decision was taken with extreme consideration of the facts and heavy consultation of experts on the matter. And we are disappointed that we have to resort to this.
