Madrid, Spain
8th December 2021It was a cold day in the capital city of the Kingdom of Spain, the city of Madrid. The Christmas lights had been on for a week already, and it really felt like one of the most special times of the year had finally arrived. It was not just the lights that gave Madrid the magic atmosphere its citizens and tourists from all around Spain and the world could feel, but also the weather. It had snowed and was snowing in the Sierra de Guadarrama, yet the snow could not be seen from the city as the clouds covered the mountains. Despite all of this, there was something new in the city, a thing that was not there when the Madrileños went to bed: it was not a new poster from the town hall, or a NETFLIX advertisement, not even a new building - there were flags on the lampposts, but those flags were unfamiliar for many that has not seen the news the day before. For those who had, they were aware that Spain was, once again, hosting a new summit, and for the second time in a year, being the first nation that a new nation in the European Union held a summit with.
Compared to the first time of the year, this one was more than a relaxed summit rather than a tense one. Even if many Spaniards did not know much about Kaitsja, the most interested on regional politics were aware this was the second time the country from the north of the European Union joined the region, but the first it attended a summit in a foreign country. If there was something the Spanish people knew was that their country always cared about welcoming new nations to the region while building strong ties that could lead to well-working relationships, and certainly Kaitsja was a country to look towards.

Madrid, EspañaWhile Madrid started to become alive once again, the Spanish President was working on his office in the Consejo de Ministros' building. He was preparing the summit that was going to be held today with him being the host, and he had everything on point. Suddenly, an email popped up in Jesús' computer, and the President knew what it was: Donald Tusk, the Deputy Speaker of the European Council and the Councillor for the Kingdom of Spain had written some things that the Spanish mandatary needed to know about Kaitsja. He read it carefully, taking some notes that he could then save for future summits. But someone knocked the door.
- Mister President, may I come in? - One of his advisors asked.
- "Of course, what do you have for me Roberto?" - the President asked back, also giving an answer.
Roberto approached the Presidential table at the same time Aguilar stood up to welcome his advisor. Both shook hands after Roberto left that day newspapers over the President table, and then the President's advisor spoke again: - this is what the newspapers say today, Mister President. We have some good headlines which certainly benefit us, one of them decided to outline the summit with Czech Slavia but I think this is the most concerning thing today... - Aguilar got the newspaper and read the headline - "King Juan Carlos aims to come back for Christmas from Nofoaga, after nearly 6 months of living on the army's bunker... Well, he has not been condemned, what is the problem?" - Jesús asked. Roberto answered back - The problem, mister President, is that the Royal Family opposes to his comeback as it would benefit the Republicans. They do not want him back, at least until any and all investigations have been archieved. And if that was not enough, there are reports that Corinna might run for Premier Commissioner in the next election, or maybe in 7 months.
Aguilar, although he was surprised, decided to leave the whole affair for later on - "Well, we will discuss it later, now we need to focus on the summit. Come back when the motorcade from Kaitsja is just 5 minutes away from the Palace, please. I would also like some Churros with Hot Chocolate to be served today, as it is quite a cold day, so if you could tell the cooker, that would be great Roberto. Thank you" - The President said, while Roberto nooded and left the room. Aguilar went back to Tusk's email while he awaited for the arrival of the newest EU country delegates and mandataries.

AEDLINN, KAITSJA
The invitation from the Spanish Government was truly surprising to Kaitsjans. Occasionally termed as the Hermit of North, Kaitsja has always maintained a distance from the rest of Europe to avoid itself from being entangled in international politics, until KD's Borut Kallaste came to power.Despite isolationism being a principal part of his party's manifesto, the right wing's social media face Kallaste has solidified his position to be the first man to actively support Kaitsja's global outreach.
On the hazy morning of Thursday, the President's Gulfstream 550 nicknamed Tuuleiil prepared itself for the 4 hour-long flight. Before embarking on his diplomatic trip, President Kallaste with First Lady Ruth Vaher attended Suurkirik (lit. The Great Church) at Keskväljak and addressed a small crowd.
An highlight from President Kallaste's speech at Keskväljak —
"Investing in our diplomacy isn’t something we do just because it’s the right thing to do for the world. We do it because it’s in our naked self-interest," frankly said Kallaste in his speech.MADRID, SPAIN
At 12:17 PM, Tuuleiil arrived at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport in Madrid. After talking with a crowd of interviewers, President Kallaste's motorcade departed to the Palacio de La Moncloa, the residence of Spain's Prime Minister. -

8th December 2021 - 12:43Aguilar was working on his office, the one where his antecessors had been working too, an office with more than one tale to tell. Suddenly, someone knocked the door again, and when it opened, Aguilar knew what he wanted and was going to say. But he decided to allow him to say it, he was being payed for doing something after all: *"Mr. President, the Prime Minister of Kaitsja has arrived to the Complejo. I strongly advice you to hurry up, they will be arriving in front of this building in 90 seconds from now." Jesús Aguilar had enough time to go downstairs, he tidied everything up and went downstairs with Roberto telling him how much time was left. The doors of the Palace opened, and as they did, the motorcade with the President of Kaitsja stopped in front of the Consejo de Ministros' building.
A member of the staff opened the door to the Kaitsjan President, who got off his car and walked towards the steps that separated him from the Spanish President, just 5. He went upstairs and there was Jesús Aguilar, smiling and shaking hands with the President from the Nordic country: "Mr. Kallaste! Nice to meet you, how are you today? Has your flight from Kaitsja been comfortable?" Said the Spanish President while the journalists took photos of both mandataries, who then were followed by the press to the Salon Tapiès, the room used for all kind of summits in the Consejo de Ministros' building. Aguilar offered a seat to the Kaitsjan President, as more photos were taken by the press and the staff of Moncloa. When the media was done, the doors closed leaving a churros dish big enough for them and 2 cups of hot chocolate. Jesús spoke, once again:
"So, welcome to Spain, Mr. Kallaste! It is such a pleasure to meet you today and to be the first European leader to have a summit with you, I feel really lucky for this and I am thankful about that. I hope you did not feel very disturbed by the media, they usually take a lot of photos when there is a summit, so congratulations, you will be on the national newspapers tomorrow! -Aguilar laughed slightly- The service has been so kind to make some churros and hot chocolate, they are delicious and a very good breakfast, if you have not had yours yet. So please, try them out, I can guarantee they taste amazing" The Spanish President then picked one and started to eat.
-
"I appreciate you being so kind, but the pleasure is all mine, Mr. Aguilar. I share the sentiments and I eagerly await what this meeting offers. Oh, they certainly didn't, but I was shocked to see so much of a crowd. " He chuckled lightly. Soon Aguilar offered the snacks, Kallaste commented. "Oh, I did, but I won't hesitate to try these, sounds appetizing!" He picked up a churro and soaked it in chocolate. "I believe you." He laughed and took a bite and commented soon he finished. "Mmm... It's really tasty." Kallaste said as he tapped the handkerchief on his mouth. "Please eat, I don't want to be guilty of eating in your presence."
-
Aguilar laughed after proving Churros were nice to break the ice and start, with good steps, the summit, he then spoke: "I will not refuse a bunch of churros, Mr. Kallaste, they would likely crucify me if I did", said the President laughing again. Both Presidents had breakfast together, getting to know each other a little bit more and also their respective countries. That was not part of the official agenda, but when you get to be the first nation which meets with a new European Union member state, you need to be open-minded and, overall, nice to your guests. That was what the President's grandmas, María and Isabel, taught him when Aguilar was a little boy.
After breakfast was over, the President focused on the agenda and decided it was a good time to start the summit: "Well Mr. Kallaste, if you do not mind, I believe that after this nice chat and breakfast we should start the summit. -Aguilar smiled- First of all, I would like to know how things are going around Kaitsja, now I know a little bit more about how the country works as well as having more knowledge about your culture. I am also interested on how people are feeling towards the UNSR and that region of Europe, as it is one of the most intense ones as we both know." Said the Spanish President.
