Kamala let out a deep breath as she walked in. Doug, her husband, greeted her with a kiss.
"Babe, I have to say...running an incumbency campaign sucks," Kamala sighed. "You have to run it and California, hoping the ish don't shake or burn."
"I know...I know, but look at the positives," chimed in Doug. Kamala just stood in a long pause.
"What mofo positives...it's Week 1 of 6."
Doug and Kamala stood in more silence.
"Honestly...can't wait for our vacay...to Santa Bárbara...which is not really a vacay.[

Kamala walked into the Cabinet Room and was the last to arrive. Tanya, with the Environment portfolio, smiled kindly. Kamala sat with her trademark grin.
"Good afternoon, everyone. Before we get started...how are y'all doing?" asked Kamala. Pete let out a sigh.
"Missing my husband and family," he answered. "Writing a white paper proposal for aviation regulations."
"Umm...working with fisheries, UCLA and the EPA," Yana Garcia answered.
"I have labor meetings," said Stacey.
