Television commercial goes on and ends moments later then returning to the election news program
NOMINATIONS CLOSED
HE: Nominations have now closed for the elections as the campaign period begins. As usually seen, the Conservative Party and Labour Party throw the most bets. Conservatives sent candidates to 583 constituencies while the Labour Party sent candidates to 572 constituencies. The Lib Dems and FDP then follow with candidates for 156 and 134 constituencies respectively. All data about the nominations are now being finalized by the Electoral Commission. Meanwhile, Elected Peerage seats are being contested by all 6 major political parties with regional parties also trying to take a seat. We have also seen the establishment of different regional parties across the country to contest seats in the Provincial Assemblies along with the primary national parties.
PARTY REFORMS
HE: Some political parties have entered into a union as the election season begins. The newly formed Federal Party merged with the Democracy First Party to form the Federal Democratic Party. The Trade Unionist Party merged with the Labour Party when the election was called, this sparked an argument on social media on whether Simon Bridges did or did not have a majority government for some time. Meanwhile, the NUP and Krexit Party had formally split. Despite this, both parties agreed to form an alliance on their views about Krexit and the European Union. And finally, former Lib Dem leader Jeremy Corbyn had defected to the Labour Party 2 days after he lost the party leadership primaries.
NEW CONSERVATIVE LEADER
HE: As Conservative Leader Scott Morrison resigns, the party elects its then-deputy leader Park Geun-hye as the new leader. In the victory speech, Park mentioned that the party had already undergone a major reform and is ready to reclaim majority in the Commons. A big critic of former PM Mark Johnon, she mentioned that those who were involved in the kidnapping incident were nothing compared to the devil. The fierce new leader outlined her plans in improving the economy during the party conference and seeks to establish more ties with other European nations.
KREXIT AIMS FOR COMMONS
HE: Despite not having any candidate for the elected peerage, the Krexit party turned itself and focused on the Commons and Provincial Assemblies. Leader Nigel Farage urged the growing eurosceptic community to join him in rallying for a referendum. Despite this, some experts suggest that the Krexit Party will most likely fail to get seats in the Commons due the emergence of euroreformism, a new ideology coined by Internal Affairs Commission Candidate Joe Biden referring to eurosceptics who believe that the EU may be reformed the way nations want.
NUP TARGETS LIB DEMS
HE: In a speech during the party's conference, NUP leader Ian Blackford aimed to become the third largest party in the Commons by beating the Liberal Democrats. According to Blackford, the defection of former Lib Dem leader Jeremy Corbyn shows the "instability" of the Liberal Democratic Party. However, a poll shows that 34% of party members doubted the party's ability to come 3rd and says the the party should instead focus on taking the 4th place.
PROGRESSIVE PARTY TO CONTEST SEATS IN COMMONS
HE: The Progressive Party, a new regional party, sent candidates to 48 constituencies to seek for a seat in the House of Commons and contest with the Krexit Party. The new party vowed to prevent a Krexit and push for reforms in the European Union. According to the party's leader, Kim Jae-yeon, the party is aligned with that of the European Union Reform Organization of Joe Biden. Political analysts think that the party still lacks the capability to hold seats in the Commons but will likely get a lot of seats in Provincial Assemblies they contest due to their ideology.

Kittichat Thongthang then takes the remaining votes with 12 winning constituencies. Candidates Sanna Marin, Margaret Thatcher, and Sebastian Piñera Echenique take last with no constituencies won, although with some amount of popular votes. And finally, let's go to the General Elections for the Pre-Election Polls on the Premiership race.
HE: After conducting a Pre-election poll with 300 respondents from each constituency with the help of other news agencies, we have projected a Labour minority government with 315 seats while the Conservative Opposition will have 261 seats. Analysts have told us that the work of the current government has likely boosted their votes.NORTH BUCKINGHAM BECOMES PROVINCIAL BATTLEGROUND
HE: With 9 Parties, 5 of 6 major political parties sending contesting along with the regional parties. In a poll by private polling company Populus, a Labour Minority Provincial Government is expected to be the outcome of the heated elections in the province. The Conservative Party commented on this, saying that it will ramp up its campaign strategies in the province. Other parties have not commented by stated that they aim to at least take some seats in the North Buckingham Provincial Assembly. Labour Party Spokesman and First Ministerial Candidate for North Buckingham, Keir Starmer, began his campaign this morning and said that the results of the poll are a good news and for the betterment of the province.
LORDS ELECTION UPDATES
HE: Parties are now battling hard for the 50 elected seats in the House of Lords. These seats are their best chance of getting representation in the upper house. As expected, the major parties sent the most candidates. Both the Labour Party and the Conservative Party contested all 50 seats. The Liberal Democrats and other parties send candidates to at least 20 seats. Independent Candidates have also began to appear in all seats.
PRIME MINISTERIAL APPROVAL RATINGS
HE: For a last look at the approval ratings of the Prime Minister, private polling company YouGov provided us with some statistics showing a stable 82% Approval Rating in a group of 100,000 respondents from all over the country. According to the poll, the most highly approved contribution of the Prime Minister was the "Build, Build, Build" initiative. Roadways and other transport services are said to have improved the quality of life in the country by 23%. Political Analysts commented that the poll shows that the Prime Minister will likely be re-elected in the new Federal Government.
And that's all for today's Election News, stay tuned for more updates. Coming up next, CBC News At One with Ben Brown.

ELECTION SPECIAL: LEADERS' DEBATE
cameras preparing in the studio prior to the start of the debatesELECTION NEWS INTRO THEME PLAYS
AN: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, tonight you will watch these 8 candidates go head to head for the Premiership race. I am Andrew Neil, and welcome to the CBC Leaders' Debate 2021. For this evening, all candidates will be given equal times to speak and answer questions. During this debate, there will be questions provided by people picked by independent private polling companies from various sectors in the country. Now to begin, each candidate will be given 1 minute to make opening statements. The order for speaking is decided by drawing lots, and so we have the Federal Democratic Party leader, Arlene Foster.
AF: Tomorrow is a very important day for all of us, to exercise our democratic powers as citizens of this nation. We have come to a big change with the establishment of the new constitution, which I believe is a stepping stone for our country to be more democratic. And tonight I want all of you to know, the importance of change in our country. We must further respect Human Rights, and cooperate with our friendly neighbors in establishing peace and prosperity across the continent, and the world. Only cooperation with other nations will help us in quicker development. That is why, we need to stop Krexit. Krexit is nothing but an illusion of freedom, when we ourselves are not free from our selfishness. And so I ask you, to vote for this party who seeks to improve yours and your children's lives.AN: Thank you Ms. Foster, and now we have the Liberal Democratic Party with Sim Sang-jung.
SSJ: In this campaign, I want to present the fact that we need a better leadership. The fact that we need to acknowledge the problems faced by our country. The fact that we must embrace the reality that we need the help of other nations. These facts, are something not acknowledged by the past administrations. And now that we have undergone change, let us use this as an opportunity to also change what kind of people are in charge of this country. And so if you want a different kind of government, one that recognizes these facts, vote for the Liberal Democratic Party.
AN: Thank you Ms. Sim, let's proceed with the Conservative Party and Park Geun-hye.
PGH: We must also acknowledge the facts and realities that the people of this country are enough with lies and broken promises. All of us know what had happened last year. But as this country had changed, so had we. The Conservative Party is here to bring true change, just as what we had among our party. We deserve a better and more truthful government, especially during this time where our country has become more significant in regional affairs.
AN: Thank you Ms. Park, let's have the Progressive Party with Kim Jae-yeon.
KJY: We don't need to repeat the same mistakes that we had made again, it's time for something new. Pushing forward is our main goal, rather than focus on political battles. The people of Reitzmag deserve a new type of leadership, which has respect for the country's development. Our goal is to eradicate corruption and open up with all countries in Europe, especially those who have been ready to support us from the beginning. The government we deserve is not something that keeps clinging with countries that had brought nothing but chaos to us. And the Progressive Party is here to help you have such a government that you deserve.
AN: Thank you Ms. Kim, let's have Simon Bridges for the Labour Party.
SB: As proven in the recent administration, the Labour Party had done more things than the past administrations in just a year. Despite the short time I have served as Prime Minister, I am very glad to say that we have achieved a lot of projects and met our goals. Our country had been propelled into the global stage as a significant power. Therefore, I ask the people to consider what had already been tested. I ask that the people look around, at what our administration had already brought to you. If you want for more of those changes and developments, bring the Labour Party back to Downing Street again.
AN: Thank you Mr. Bridges, let's have Jonathan Bartley of the Green Party.
JB: Our country deserves a better future, a future where our children are able to safely walk around without the worries of attracting respiratory diseases due to pollution. We can only achieve this if we get a Green New Deal to enhance our initiatives and programs against Climate Change. Let's cooperate with other nations to make these green programs more effective. If we help other nations, we can make a better future for everyone, this is something that is not recognized by the past administrations. That is why we can make this happen, if you vote for the Green Party. Together, we can make our lives better.
AN: Thank you Mr. Bartley, let's have the National Union Party with Ian Blackford.
IB: People, there are two choices you have to make in this election. Fake change or real change. If you want fake change, keep voting for the same parties. If you want real change, vote for the National Union Party. Our party aims to fight for our sovereignty, and show that we are not a country that may be bullied. We're enough of how other countries treat us as underdogs, the time has come for us to show that we are important in the regional stage.
AN: Thank you Mr. Blackford, and finally we have Nigel Farage for the Krexit Party.
NF: Krexit must happen, it's time we listen to the real voices of the people. We have felt oppressed by how we have been treated by the international community. The only solution we have to this problem is nothing but withdrawal from the European Union. Eurosceptics had now crossed the line, and we are here to show them how real that is. This is the real change, and we will bring it if you vote the Krexit Party.
AN: Thank you Mr. Farage, and to all candidates. Now it's time for the questions, each candidate will be given 2 minutes to answer each question. Candidates may criticize another candidate's answer during this period. After each candidate has answered the questions, they will be given 1 minute to respond to the criticisms or close their statements before we proceed with the third part. For this part, only the leaders of the Conservative and Labour Party will be required to answer the questions. Other leaders may answer only if they want to. Let's get to that after a short break.
Television commercial goes on and ends moments later then returning to the debate program
AN: Welcome back, we're now on the question and answer portion of the debate. The first of three questions for the night is from Daniel Yard, a seafarer which had first hand experience of encountering pirates in the Caspian Sea. Mr. Yard, the floor is yours.
DY: As a seafarer, we brave the open ocean every day to ensure that trade runs in smoothly and our economy remains developing. However, now that our life is at risk, what do the panelists plan to do in order to ensure the smooth operation of ocean trade routes despite the piracy issue?
AN: Alright, let's begin with Mr. Bridges from the Labour Party.
SB: As what we had already done recently, we have deployed our Armed Forces and the Coastguard to collaborate with the United Duchies in combatting piracy in the Caspian Sea. During the past month, we were able to intercept 56 pirate vessels that were trying to illegally enter the country's borders. Of these 56, 42 of them are boarded by terrorists that are planned to operate and seek terror in the country. These show how efficient our systems are to combat piracy. Apart from these, we will establish an initiative to require all merchant vessels to have portable barbed wires and other on-board anti-pirate defense systems.
AN: Thank you Mr. Bridges, let's go with Mrs. Park from the Conservative Party.
PGH: These seafarers deserve more than just that for their courage, they deserve a more safer job on land. In my administration, I aim to make our economy more reliant on trade via air transport. This will make our economy less reliant on other countries and more efficient as the first country to embrace aviation-based trade system. This way, seafarers will be less affected by the piracy issue in the Caspian than Mr. Bridges' defensive approach.
AN: Thank you Mrs. Park, the remaining parties may or may not answer this question. They may press the button if they wish to answer.
No one presses the button
AN: Alright, Mr. Bridges will be given 1 minute to respond to Mrs. Park's statement, the same will go for Mrs. Park.
SB: Transitioning our economy to air transport-based trade will be a logistical and political nightmare for the government. Companies might move or close as they will lack the budget to fund the use of aviation for transportation. We must recognize that despite the average income of an ordinary Reitzman, aviation is still expensive and less efficient than maritime transport.
PGH: If we transition to air transport-based trade, it would allow us to be ahead of other countries in terms of technology. We cannot risk any more lives due to these pirates, it is much better if we reserve every precious life for the development of our nation.
AN: Thank you candidates. Now we have Jasper Townes, a resident of Copala City, to give the second question. Mr. Townes, the floor is yours.
JT: The issue of Copala City had not just been something of international interest, but something also of local interest. As a resident, my life was in danger during the times that extremist refugees tried to violently secede from the country. What do the panelists think on the existence of refugees in our country?
AN: Thank you Mr. Townes, now we'll start with the Conservative Party's Park Geun-hye.
PGH: I am open to welcoming refugees, however I believe that we must be stricter in terms of screening these refugees before we let them in the country. As we have learned from Essex city, we should now instead have these refugees live in separate special refugee camps to be established away from urban areas. We should also be more strict on their movement, limiting them to staying only in the refugee camp. However, I believe that we should still be open to giving them an opportunity to have citizenship in our country.
SB: This issue is something I had been tackling when I took office. If I win the premiership, we will continue to accept refugees, but we will be more vigilant on who are coming in the country. We will tighten immigration policies and prevent extremists from entering the country and trying to destroy the government system. However, we will not let them reside within urban areas but will allow them to roam around a more limited area unlike what Mrs. Park proposes. This way, we respect their human rights and also ensure our national security and stability.
AN: Thank you Mrs. Park, the remaining parties may or may not answer this question. They may press the button if they wish to answer.
Only NUP presses the button
AN: Mr. Blackford is the only one that wished to speak, the floor is yours now.
IB: The best solution we have is get rid of all foreign refugees, and stop accepting new ones. Refugees had been a problem since the very start, getting rid of them will be getting rid of one of the biggest problems our nation had faced. We should learn our lesson from what happened, and recognize the reality that refugees are only a threat to this country's stability and national security. Throughout the past two years, we had declared Martial Law about 5 times because of chaos. Among these 5, almost half of them are caused by the violence from refugees. My stand is simple, refugees are all extremists in disguise.
AN: Alright, Mrs. Park will be given 1 minute to make a secondary statement. The same will go for Mr. Blackford and Mr. Bridges respectively.
PGH: Kicking out refugees are nothing but a way for the international community to criticize us, this would lead to other countries refusing to have us as their ally or conduct any form of diplomacy with us. These refugees are also humans, not all of them are extremists. We only need to make sure, not generalize them. They deserve some respect for their existence and their rights as humans, and that is what my government vow to do.
IB: We've already had experience on refugees, nearly all of them are hostile and want to destabilize our country. The best solution for this is to simply not accept them and kick them out. We are a sovereign country, and therefore other nations must respect our decision.
SB: It is clear that Mr. Blackford does not have experience with international diplomacy. Kicking out refugees is a violation of human rights from my standpoint, unless they are justified to be a threat to national security. Therefore, strict immigration should be the best solution along with respect to their rights.

ELECTION SPECIAL: VOTING DAY HIGHLIGHTS AND RESULTS
ELECTION NEWS INTRO THEME PLAYSHE: Good day ladies and gentlemen, I am Huw Edwards and I will be guiding you throughout the day for our election updates. Today we will be joined by news anchors, political analysts, and other election experts from the CBC and partner news agencies to cover this day's polling. As of 7:00am this October 30 2021, polls have already been opened across the country. And now we will be giving you some updates.
fast forward
HE: Let's take a look at North Buckingham where the Conservative Party and Labour Party are fighting hard for all seats. Currently, the Conservative Party remains to lead with 32 projected constituencies while the Labour Party sits behind at 28 constituencies. Despite this, we can see that the Labour Party has already secured 74 projected seats.TD: Looking at this, it seems that feminist groups might have given the Conservatives a big push to support their leader Park Geun-hye. However, the trend might stop as Labour voters start coming out into the polls. A while ago, we saw how the Labour Party's projected seats jumped to 64 from 37. Most of the seats that contributed to this jump came from North Buckingham, and so it is likely that the Labs might start overtaking the Cons later.
fast forward
HE: We've just got an update that the Lib Dems are likely to take majority in the New Moreland Assembly. With 19 seats projected, Mark Pack is predicted by the CBC to become the First Minister of New Moreland.TD: In other news, the Labour Party has just got a boost on votes after the overseas absentee votes arrived. As of now, we project that they will be getting 162 seats in the Commons with a lead of 13 constituencies from the Conservatives coming in second. Speed of votes for the Liberal Democrats have started to stall while they still remain at 32 projected seats.
fast forward
SR: The first independent win has just been projected for Victoria Gangway. The candidate, Park Byeong-seug, is projected to lead in his constituency by 2,000 votes. CBC currently is predicting a possible win of 3 Independent candidates, one of them is Mr. Park whose projection has been finalized.HE: We also have just got another update, we're currently just a few seats left to be declared. Currently standing, 258 seats are projected to turn for the Labour Party. The Conservatives have now fallen behind at 187 projected seats. The Lib Dems, NUP, and FDP then follow at likely 38, 17, and 8 seats respectively. The Green Party had also just seen its first candidate elected, but is seen to win a few more seats. So far, all parties with projected seats won have their leaders already projected to win in their respective constituencies.
fast forward
TD: We are just a few moments away from closing of polls at 10 o'clock, for now let us wait for the time to come and Namsan Tower's chime to signal the end of the elections.HE: Ladies and gentlemen, polling has officially closed. And now it is time we show the results of our exit poll in collaboration with MBC, KBS, and Arirang News.
SR: CBC News officially projects a Labour Majority with 357 seats and a Conservative Opposition of 251 seats.
HE: That is all for now, tomorrow we will see the official results of the count from The Electoral Commission. Goodnight!
TIMELAPSE OF HAMPTON CITY PLAYS WITH THE ELECTION NEWS OUTRO THEME
fast forward to Day 2
HE: Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Huw Edwards and today we will deliver you the official results of the General Elections. And for the moment we have been waiting for, Reitzmag here is your parliament.
HE: And it is official, Simon Bridges is elected as the first Federal Prime Minister and the Labour Party has attained majority in the House of Commons. The Progressive Party and Krexit Party both have failed to attain any seats in the Commons. Further updates on election results will be available in our website at www.cbc.co.kr/elections/2021 and at the websites of partner news agencies and The Electoral Commission at www.electoralcommission.org.kr.
