A Getaway in Luxembourg (Spain - Reitzmag Summit)

12th December 2021 - Luxemburgo, Germanium, EspañaSometimes the Spanish President, Jesús Aguilar, was not understandable, and today it was one of those days when he was not understood by anybody that was part of his team. For the first time in a while, the Spanish President decided that an international summit would not be hosted in Madrid, but somwhere else. After much research and thoughts about where to held it, the city of Luxembourg, in the autonomous community of Germanium, was the chosen one. But why that city? Was there something the Spanish President was looking forward? Planning for a special dinner with his guest? Making Europe's bromance come true after a secret divorce of both his guest and the Spanish President?
Jesús Aguilar arrived there by car, even though the air travel chance was avilable. He loved the chosen city, and he had been there several times having dinner with Juncker's family, or to meet with Donald Tusk, a former Chancellor of Germanium, to discuss whatever topic he wanted. Germanium was this liberal-conservative autonomous community, not nationalistic, nor aiming for independence, but rather very Spanish and with a deep feeling of belonging to their region. If asked about the Strait of Adventuranza, they answered "Spanish 100%". If asked about Inquista, they answered "the Kingdom's best friend". And even though the Partido Popular 16-year-old leadership of the region would be on risk in the next election, today was one of those days where Aguilar would test how in danger it was.
As he arrived at 6AM that morning, he had enough time to supervise the preparations for the welcoming of the Reitzmic Prime Minister, Simon Bridges. The Reitzmic flags were put next to the Spanish ones in the flagpoles, the Policía Nacional was checking the whole city was safe and the curious inhabitants were looking at the President, taking photos with him and talking to him. Meanwhile, in the Airport, everything was ready to welcome the Reitzmic plane. When the Spanish President arrived back at the Palais Grand-Ducal, he took a seat on the main hall and waited for the arrival of Simon Bridges, whom he would welcome in the Guillaume II plaza to then walk into the Palace. Everything was ready, it was just Bridges missing.

Black House, Hampton City
December 12 2021
It was early morning, and yet again the Prime Minister continued with his regular morning routine. The holidays this year was pretty different for Simon, as it was not as busy as it was before. But he just didn't bother and treated all the business as part of his responsibilities as the first Federal Prime Minister of the country. That day, his activity was to visit the Spanish President and discuss some important partnership deals. Just as he was browsing through his daily morning updates, the chief secretary came in to remind him that the flight and the convoy is ready. He got up and took his suit before kissing his wife goodbye, then he proceeds to the courtyard where he took the convoy to RAF Hampton.RAF Hampton
Just in time, the convoy arrived as the planes line up to the stairs ready to serve the Prime Minister and his entourage. The press and civilians watching are then stopped from filming or taking pictures as the Vespinas start their engines and are pushed back. Each plane shuffles their positions after the audience and the press have left. One by one, each Vespina line up to the runway and takeoff for Spain. Falcon and Lightning Fighter jets then follow to provide escort and protection to the flight until the mid-caspian where the Fleet Air Arm with the Royal Navy will provide the security.Entering Spanish Airspace
Ahead of time, Spanish Air Traffic Control are then notified of the flight's entry to Spanish Airspace and arrival of the Prime Minister. The flight is then guided to the correct and secure flight path to Germanium. Inside Vespina-IV , the Prime Minister goes through his morning updates and continues some paperwork before preparing to land with some in-flight entertainment. Moments later, every plane is notified that the flight is about to land as the seat belt lights go up. And just as they have taken off, each plane lands one by one in a safe way as Air Traffic Control and Ground Control have instructed the flight to safely proceed. -
Aeropuerto de Luxemburgo
Luxemburgo, EspañaA motorcade awaited for Simon Bridges, the Reitzmic Prime Minister, to take him to the Guillaume II plaza, where the summit action would start. While the special police deployment along with the secret service caught the attention of many passengers taking their holiday or routinary flights to somewhere in Spain or a destination around Europe, the media was broadcasting the arrival of the politician with the higher amount of power in his country. It was the first time Bridges came to Spain, but the question was still on the minds of many Spaniards that, like their compatriots, thought the same: Why was Luxembourg the chosen city for the summit? Did it has anythign to see with the famous bromance, that had thousands of fans all around Europe? That is something only the Spanish President, Jesús Aguilar, knew.
Meanwhile, in the plaza, everything was getting ready: Jesús Aguilar arrived with his new vehicle, which was going to be presented today to the media and the Spanish citizens, and that was becoming a 'personal use armoured vehicle' for the President. Luckily for him, Mikaela ordered the vehicle so it did not pollute as much as regular cars did, so nobody could bust Aguilar for accepting a gift from the Archbishop of Inquista. When the President got off his car, a loud cheer and applause could be heard all around the plaza, where not only the media and the security but also the locals and the people visiting the city of Luxembourg that day were congregating. He shook hands with the authorities present there, such as the Chancellor of the autonomous community of Germanium, Ms. Erma Arbeit and the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg.
Then, the President approached to the crowd that awaited for the historical moment to arrive. The car stood on a side of the plaza, visible enough, and 3 masts had been put there for the special occassion, with 3 big flags waving attached to them: from the left to the right, the Spanish flag, the European Union flag and the Reitzmic flag; along with the three typical medium-sized masts that were always there for press conferences, photos and stuff. Aguilar shook hands, took photos and even had time to talk to the crowd that had waited for hours to see him. It was not a bad thing for the Spanish President to meet the people that wanted to see him, to talk to them; nor was for his reputation. One of the secrets he had to win the elections was how close to the people he was; something his opponents could not battle.
The police sirens were suddenly heard by everyone on the plaza, and Aguilar rushed to the place he was supposed to stand for the arrival of his friend and counterpart, the Reitzmic Prime Minister. The cars made their entry to the plaza, and came to a stop. A member of the secret service opened the door of Simon's car, whom got out of it welcomed by the atmosphere of the plaza, the sound of the press' cameras and the great weather that could be enjoyed at that moment. Bridges approached to Aguilar and both mandataries shook hands, with Aguilar smiling along his counterpart: "Simon, nice to see you once again. How is everything going so far?" asked the President. The protocol then led to the Luxembourgish band present there to play the Reitzmic Anthem and then the Spanish anthem. Some spontaneous shouts from the public could be heard at the end of the national anthem, saying "Viva España!" and answered with some "Viva!" shouts.
Jesús Aguilar and Simon Bridges then started their walk to the Palais Grand-Ducal de Luxembourg, a short but pretty safe walk where the first exchange of words could finally take place: "I hope you liked the welcoming and the place I have chosen for this very special summit for both of us. When choosing Luxembourg, I thought of what image we wanted to offer our citizens with this summit, either discrection or friendship, and I thought the second one had to be over the first one". Aguilar smiled and both came to a stop to pose in front of the Palace, before entering the building, then heading to where the summit would take place.
-
The motorcade proceeded and arrived at the plaza and Simon got out of the car with heavy security following him around. He then shook hands with Jesus and smiled.
SB: "Thank you for receiving me here my friend. I like the place and the way you welcomed us here."
Simon kept himself keen on everything happening around. Before the visit, he went to a shooting range to retrain himself in his shooting skills just as he did when he was an MI6 agent. However the move was something more of an assurance of his security, just in case something happens.
They then enter the building and Simon looks around and adorns the beauty of the palace. There, he started to talk more.
SB: "The situations around Europe is truly very disappointing, don't you think. I really am disappointed that I can't see my vision of a peaceful Europe come to a reality anytime soon. So, how have you been doing recently through all these happenings?"
-
Aguilar listened to what Simon had to say, or ask. It was strange, the Reitzmic Prime Minister not speaking as much as he loved to. Pure protocol, the Hispanic-Reitzmic relationship freezing? Who even knew what was going on in Simon's head, Jesús did not, at least not today. Knowing it during the 2020 crisis was more than enough for the young but veteran Spanish President, and it was something he did not want to go through once again. The President, after these thoughts he came up with while listening and observing the grotesque scene, answered the question his eastern European counterpart asked:
"Well Simon, I have been busy with keeping the Spanish security on point, as you know times are getting more tense and tense, and we cannot be relaxed with what is going on. We, ourselves, have been able to taste some disgraceful essence of what is going on in Europe, but there is nothing that cannot be fixed during the year to come, isn't it? Nonetheless, both your country and mine have been involved in some affairs, so let's just say a 'peaceful Europe' is relative. How are you doing, by the way?"
After Simon answered his question, Aguilar decided to offer something to drink and to eat, something very Spanish and that was known around many countries of the European Union. A very Spanish and European dish: "Before we start to discuss the agenda of this summit, would you like some Spanish omelette and a glass of Germanic beer? You will not be dissapointed when you try it out, if you do.", said Aguilar.
-
Simon kept very silent and conservative when speaking. He refused the beer but accepted the omelette, as he was not used to drinking very strong liquor and also wants to make sure he's not drunk that he'll say something wrong.
SB: "I've pretty much been busy with trips across Europe to expand our soft power and diplomacy. Other than that, I just keep getting smashed by the opposition every wednesday in Parliament."
