Into Mysterious Grounds (Spain-Ruthund Summit)

Palacio de la Moncloa
15th February 2022It was early in the morning in the sunny and beautiful capital city of the Kingdom of Spain, Madrid. The low-pressures were gone, and now the sun reigned over the city's skies once again. The first sun beams entered through the Jesús Aguilar and his wife's bedroom in the Presidential residency, the Palacio de la Moncloa. He was already working, while his wife had been long gone. She had to work that day, and that meant taking the kids to school earlier than their entrance timetable, except for the elder one. The Spanish President was looking to his agenda, where he had noted everything he had to do today.
Reading his agenda, he saw that what came first was a summit with the the High Lady and Stewardess of Ruthund, Brenelduz Libonutukur. Then, in the afternoon, he had to attend to the Spanish Senate, where he would face a control session, like every week. But first, was the summit with Ruthund. When it came to the Northern European country, they had a different culture compared to the rest of Europe, which attracted the Spanish President, who regarded it as peculiar and mysterious, what increased his interest. Aguilar also felt priviledged today, as he had been awarded with a summit with Ruthund, something both countries' siplomats had been planning for months.
Ruthund was a very hermetic country when it came to foreign relationships, and summits with them as a guest were not very usual. With that in mind, Aguilar knew he had a huge window with views towards several opportunities he could not afford to let go, and that he would try to catch as much as he could. He then had a walk towards the Consejo de Ministros building, where the summit would take place and where he was met by one of his advisors, who talked to him about the latest news about Ruthund. The President then asked: "How long until the Ruthenish arrive?", a question rapidly answered by his advisors: "They have entered the Palace area as soon as I am concerned, Mr. President". Jesús then got ready and exited to the stairs, where he waited patiently for his guest to arrive.
And finally, it happened. The motorcade who carried the Ruthenish delegation made its stop in front of the staircase, made up of 5 or 6 stairs, that led towards where the Spanish President was standing and then, into the building. Jesús smiled as he saw the Stewardess of Ruthund getting out of the car, and shook hands with her: "Welcome your excellency, it is a pleasure to meet you", said the President, trying to be hospitable and friendly. The press made several photos, the TV media recorded the scene. Then, both mandataries entered the building and headed to the Salón Tapiès, where everything was ready to hold the summit. More photos were taken and, after 2 minutes, the press was invited to leave and both politicians were left alone.
Aguilar then started to speak: "Stewardess, it is such an honour to be awarded with your presence in Madrid today, nice to meet you! Before we start with the summit, would you like something to drink? I have also bought a little gift for you; -Aguilar then gave several old photographs of Spain to Brenelduz- these are several old photos from Spain in the 19th and 20th Century, which I thought you would like", the President said, while smiling.

As Brenelduz ascended from her car seat, she was quite pleased to see that President Aguilar was there to meet her and was somewhat surprised by the hospitality that the Spanish delegation was showing her. Technically, the Steward of the Mekilfyraz Throne wasn't allowed to leave Kazmurbirhaz, as traditional law prohibited the Steward leaving the city. However, over the years, these rules have been largely thrown into the dustbin of history and Stewards have left Kazmurbirhaz to attend affairs all over Ruthund. However this is a special occasion, for the Stewardess undertook something her successors dared not do-- to leave Ruthund itself. Of course there would be some riled feathers at home from some of the traditionalists, but with her party in firm control of the Thuidwethon and with times changing it barely crossed her mind.
Brenelduz said, "Thank for your welcome Mr. President, its an honor to be here! Do you by chance have some organic green tea? I only take craft and organic products back in Ruthund. People say they are overpriced, but I personally like to be a responsible consumer unlike many people."
Brenelduz then took a look at the pictures that Aguilar handed to her and she let out a big smile and said, "Ahhh yes, brings back some memories of this country. Some good times, but also some not so good times. Glad to be back here though on this beautiful day! Don't get much of these in Ruthund this time of year." Brenelduz used to live in Spain when she was little, as part of the Bleithoniz. She still has somewhat of a Spanish accent when she talks, often getting her dubbed a 'foreigner'. Sadly however, Brenelduz lost most of her Spanish.

"Let me check if we do". Suddenly, Aguilar asked to one of the service members if they had the tea the Ruthenish Stewardess had requested. He received a positive answer, so he ordered two, as he did not want to look bad. The service member brought the cups of tea, and Aguilar thanked her: "I hope you find it as you like it, Stewardess. I usually do not take this kind of tea, but when I do it feels good, so taking it today alongside you is a great idea", said Jesús.
The Spanish President was happy Brenelduz had loved the photos he had gifted her, and remembered that she had been born in Spain, a topic he decided to continue: "Yeah, the times back then were tough and hard, many innocent people suffered without being guilty of whatever they were accused of, I can't be proud of those times. Do you still remember some Spanish words, Stewardess? What is your best memory about your life here?" Asked the President.
After an answer was given to him, Jesús Aguilar decided to start the summit and hear what Brenelduz had to say: "Well, Ms. Brenelduz, tell me, what has brought you to Spain today? Is there a specific area you want to discuss firstly?".
