The Mikado (United Kingdom-Yosai Summit)
-
Theresa walked to the Yosai delegation.
"Welcome to Britain. I hope your trip was comfortable. Would you like some tea and biscuits? We only do black tea. We get green tea from you," Theresa offered.
-
General Secretary Watanabe replied "It was rather comfortable yes, I would like tea yes, however I get enough green tea at home. Lets try some Earl Grey tea. I'm in Britain after all." He said as he gave a friendly smile. Secretary of State Yuichi Matsuda smiled and politely agreed "Yes tea and biscuits would be rather nice."
-
Theresa whispered to an aide. Then, Theresa led them inside Downing Street and sat them in the drawing room. She began to start the summit while the aide brought in the tea and biscuts.
"What do you want to start with?" Theresa asked.
-
"Well Ms May I was going to ask you?" he said with a friendly smile. "But if we are to get the ball rolling as you English say. Then I suppose trade, visa' and possible extradition? Which topic do you want to start with."
-
"Well, we should start with a fair trade agreement. We feel like trade is a good environment to start in. We also do not want to ruin wages or jobs," Theresa began.
-
The General Secretary straightened his glasses and faintly smiled "Well that's fine. A very basic one will probably be lifting tariff and non tariff barriers between our nations and when companies from both nations come in and either open their branches in the country, or invest in a business in the said country we follow our nations laws. That includes wage and workers rights laws. Does that sound like something you are looking for? Or is there a particular sector of the economy you want to focus on?"
-
"No, that sounds perfect. I want to make sure everyone is secure," Theresa said. "As a token of friendship, I would like to offer a base in Ireland."
-
General Secretary Watanabe raised his eyebrow. "A military base in Ireland? Hmm, that would be a good for our interests in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. We can build a joint air force and naval base on the east coast of Ireland. They will have to report back to us from and of course to London as well with meetings between both British and Yosainese officials happening every 3 months on co-operation between both nations and reviewing of the agreement every 5 years or so if need be. Would you like anything in particular from our end as well?"
-
"We would like a base with access to Osaka," Theresa elucidated.
-
"Osaka...Hmm ok, the food capitol of Yosai facing the Red Strait and above and if you keep going it goes to California. Ok I can allow it. Just out of curiosity Prime Minister can I ask why Osaka in particular?"
