Statement - On the European Commission Election Results

My dear Europeans,

On my first statement as Premier Commissioner, I would like to thank you for the trust and the opportunity you have given me on this electoral process, allowing me to become the leader of an institution I love: the European Commission. I will be hugely devoted to my job, deliver what I promised and make you feel part of the European Union, no matter where you leave or what your ideology is. This Premiership will be there for every single European, and the doors of my office are always open to you. If you need something, just send me a message through the European Commission app or phone my secretary, and he will give you an appointment to meet with me as soon as possible.

The Premier Commissioner, Jean-Claude Juncker, attends the European Council in order to start the procedures of electing a President of the European Central Bank. A new President is expected to be elected in the next few days.
Later on, Jean-Claude Juncker introduces the European Agricultural Fund Act to the European Council.

August 2022

31st August

Premier Juncker will meet the recently-elected European Central Bank President, Luis de Guindos, to know what his proposals and his agenda as the ECB President will be for the next twelve months.

November 2022

23rd November

The Premier Commissioner, Jean-Claude Juncker, submits the Budget for the European Union for 2022-2023 act in the European Council.
Afterwards, he attends the first day of debate on the proposed budget.

December 2022

27th December

Premier Juncker meets the Speaker of the European Council, Iras Tilkannas.

April 2023

29th April

The Premier Commissioner registers his proposal to amend the European Constitution in the European Council.
Jean-Claude Juncker attends to the European Council in order to expose his views on the legislation proposed by the Sertian Councillor, Ms. Dina, that ressembles his former EUROPOL proposal.

May 2023

2nd May

Premier Juncker attends the Fourth European Leaders Summit and delivers a speech to European leaders prior to the start of the summit.
After the Summit is concluded, Jean-Claude Juncker will share his conclusions with the media in a press conference.

Statement - On the ECB Election and the European Agricultural Fund Act

My dear Europeans,

Today we have woken up with some great news coming from the European Council, that has finished the European Central Bank Election procedures and also passed the European Agricultural Fund Act. When in campaign, I stated many times that I would be a Commissioner that delivered, and the passage of the EAF is a new proof of my compromise with the region and its inhabitants. The European Agricultural Fund Act will surely help fishers and farmers, and a director will be appointed soon.

Concerning the European Central Bank election, I would like to congratulate Mr. Luis de Guindos Jurado for his victory, and wish him a good term handling one of the most demanding positions of the EU excluding the Commission. I will meet him next Wednesday to hear his proposals and agenda. I also want to state that, despite wishing higher participation in this election, the election results are valid and the election will not be repeated.

My efforts are now on designing the new budget and keep delivering proposals. Let's do this, together.

Statement - On the Recent European Commission Elections

My dear Europeans,

After the European Commission Elections have come to an end, I am releasing this statement to thank you for the trust that you have put on my person to continue being your Premier Commissioner, a trust that I personally believe I do not deserve after such an awful job from me as the head of this pretigious institution, the European Commission. I did not intend to run for the position again, but if the people of Europe deem convenient that I remain as their Premier Commissioner, I am not in condition to refuse the mandate of the European citizens, and therefore I accept being Premier Commissioner for another term.

Nevertheless, it will be up to the European Court of Justice to decide if the choice you have made adjusts to the European Union law. If the Court says the choice is illegal, I would like to announce my intention to run again if another election takes place; while if it deems the election as legal, I will work even harder than I am right now. My agenda is far from finished, and these four months will do to deliver the compromises I adquired when I ran for this position. I would like to apologise for my inactivity as Commissioner for the time being, and promise that I will now act to help Europe recover from the great political crisis it is suffering.

Lastly, I would like to clarify something: the European Union is democratic, and any speech that contradicts this evidence is dangerous not only for its well-functioning, but also for its credibility. Now, it is time to remain more united than we have ever been, and I know that if we all row heading forward, this Union will also move forward.

Statement - On the War on Svarna Surya

My dear Europeans,

It is with great sadness that I write this statement today. As many of you might already be aware of, a new war has begun in the European Union, with the Caspian Sea as one of the main stages and several member states being involved on said conflict. I condemn the war declaration on Svarna Surya, as I condemn the actions that the mentioned member state has taken in the last days. The echoes of conflict and war in Europe had been present for a long time in our continent, but no one could ever thought said echoes would turn to be real at Christmas Day, a date in which unity, peace and celebrations are supposed to take place instead of fights, mass killings and funerals.

I believe that there were a wide range of choices to reach an agreement about the kidnapped sailors and ships, with war not being over the table. I also wish to express my most profound condemnation for not calling on foreign actors or on the European Commission to mediate between the involved parties, and for introducing bills under the pretext of avoiding a conflict but starting it even before the European Council started a vote on it.

I would also like to clarify that I am not siding with any nation on this conflict. Both the actions of Svarna Surya, with alleged breaches of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the actions of the Kingdom of Reitzmag, the United Duchies and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, are condemnable and regrettable. In addition, the declaration of war on Svarna Surya of Gadalland and Aspern does not help to lower tensions, nor does the necessary and presumably coordinated cooperation on humanitarian tasks from the Federal Republic of Yosai. The consequences of this war are innumerable: an humanitarian crisis, a hunger crisis, a drinkable water crisis...

I hope that the conflict comes to an end soon, and that peace can soon be reached between the parties. The European Commission, at my request, will debate if action needs to be taken against participating member states.

Statement - Thanks again, Europe!

My dear Europeans,

It is a huge privilige and honour to have been elected by all of you, once again, to assume the Office of the Premier Commissioner of the European Union, that I first took over in July 2022. This new year will surely bring us a lot of challenges to overcome, goals to reach and renewed forces, but the spirit of European unity and progress will never be stopped by anyone while I am the Premier Commissioner of this Union. We, the Europeans, have showed that we believe on this Union, and now it is your representatives' turn, the European Commission, to prove that the European Union is useful for everyone and that it can do great things.

I want to make two things clear about my newly renewed term: first, I will remain committed to the position I have run for and won, without disengaging from my adquired compromises, neither forgetting my agenda and the promises I made. And second, this term will be the one in which the European Union will unleash its true power, in which all member states will feel they are essential on our Union, which is far from being a lie. States matter to me, and it is time to prove the Commission cares about them. In addition, there is a lot of work to do concerning the many reforms that will take place during this month, and to keep Europe on track and rolling, in order to get to our destination on time.

Let's dream bigger, believe on us and keep pushing forward. Dreaming, doing, succeeding was once my campaign motto, and for this term it will be what this Commission will do under my direction. Thanks again, Europe!

Statement - On Istkalen

My dear Europeans,

A few days ago, I was informed as everyone else by the Istkalenian media that the National Salvation Council of Istkalen was planning to introduce several reforms, which included "anti-gay laws" or "cultural restrictions"; and that severely attack not only the European Rule of Law, but also puts the primacy of the Constitution of the European Union and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in danger. If this legislation was passed, Sections II, XVIII and XIX of said Declaration would be broken by a member state of the European Union, something that cannot be tolerated.

As Premier Commissioner, I am deeply concerned about this attempt to go against the Constitution, our main rule within the Acquis Communautaire. The European Rule of Law, when it comes to Human Rights, shall be respected and protected by all members of this Union, no matter their cultures, ideologies or religious principles. Not respecting it leads the European Union to a point of no return, in which we tolerate severe breaches of our main pieces of legislation, and the Commission and I as Premier Commissioner will not allow that to happen. This Commission, despite others' comments, is not here to sit down and wait for the situation to resolve, but to act as soon as possible and always looking for consensus.

I would like to publicly applaud the decision my colleague and Commission mate Wirt Harland, the Internal Affairs Commissioner, has taken concerning this possible breach of our legislation, which was opening a discussion on the European Council. On my side, I would like to call the National Salvation Council to vote against these proposals. In addition, I would like to remind Istkalenian lawmakers that the European Commission has the needed powers to take action against any member that breaches sensible EU law, by applying the European Commission (Sanctioning Powers) Act 2021. While I hope that its application is not necessary, I have to remind member states about the consequences that a breach of our Constitution or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights may carry. I would also like to remind that my office is always open to anyone that is willing to discuss these events, and that negotiation is our main priority.

I hope this attempt fails and that Istkalen remains in the correct side when it comes to European law.
