San Francisco Summit (California-Yosai Summit)

The three Yosainese officials bowed "Ah, good afternoon, we were just about to have tea. Ah Mr Starmer, oh wait. Prime Minister Starmer. It's nice to meet you."
-
"Likewise, a pleasure," Starmer said with a firm handshake. "Apologies for the lateness. I thought London traffic was bad but...good Lord. And this is not even Los Angeles. Why don't we do tea and business?"
-
"Of course Gentlemen, please, lets commence. Mr Matsuda will, please outline the agenda."
Secretary of State Yuichi Matsuda replied "Yes of course Sir, now the reason for our visit is for a foundation of trilateral relations between the United Kingdom, California and Yosai, now Yosai has had agreement negotiations with the previous British government under Theresa May, but as for California the commencement of relations is rather new."
-
"Well, California would of course benefit from free and balanced trade," Albanese replied. "We don't want to plummet wages on either end. Plus, we would like to encourage secondary and tertiary educational exchange, both vocational and educational. Californians would greatly benefit from Yosai's world leading STEM programs."

So joint programs with Berkley, UCLA, Cal Tech,as well as Oxford, Cambridge, the LSE and others. I mean I have nothing against that. It would also be good if Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka have businesses in Silicon Valley and London and vise versa, but I feel like we need to schedule a later meeting with our education authorities. However today would be good for dipping our toes in the water.
-
Both prime ministers looked at each other with intrigue.
"That sounds acceptable and mutually beneficial to all involved," Prime Minister Starmer replied. "Now, can we talk defence, and that is without California."
-
"Yes of course Prime Minister, what do you have in mind? Mutual bases?, Some kind of military training excersises? Or something more comprehensive?"
-
"To be perfectly honest, the alliances we are a part of carry a lot of reputation. None of which is our fault. I would like to show Britain and Yosai can work together. I propose training excersises and research sharing as well as a mutual defence pact."
-
General Secretary Watanabe sighed while both Secretary Ishijo and Secretary Matsuda nodded their heads in agreement.
Secretary Matsuda said his piece "Yes, there are times where the two other more senior partners of ECON implement thier foreign policy too rashly and are too sure of themselves that they forget the diplomatic consequences. I mean within the next few days the General Secretary and myself are to meet Mishi Sakar; Svarna Suya's Foreign Minister in order to see what we can do to mediate the situation on our part."
General Secretary Watanabe replied "My colleague is correct. So I can see 3 elements to this Prime Minister, this is a defence pact with 2 elements research sharing and mutual defence whcih comes with training excersizes. Can I propose the third element of extradition?"
-
@Yosai "Yes, of course. As long as it's a proper severe crime; we want to make sure both codes are respected."
-
General Secretary replied "Excellent. Now I still take it that the previous agreement made with Ms Theresa May this government as well will allow us a naval and air force base in Ireland?"
-
"Yes, of course we will honour that. I would suggest Shannon as it has the proper infrastructure and access to Dublin," replied Prime Minister Starmer. "I'll get you in contact with the Taoiseach. "
-
General Secretary Watanabe smiled "Excellent, that would be most appreciated. Also I have heard that the UK wants to establish a naval base in Yosai correct?"
-
"Yes, we would...ideally facing California."
-
"The state of of Gyukanjima faces the Californian coast. It has a large deep oil extraction project going on, but there is still a lot of room for a naval base which faces the Gin Sea." (OOC; What I call my side of the former Adventuranza).
"I trust that's alright? Now, Mr Albanese anything you wish to add?" He said with a warm smile.
-
((ooc: don't know or care.))
Albo remained pensive for a while then looked at the General Secretary.
"If I think of anything else, we'll be in contact," he said.
