Good afternoon, today is an important day for Leagio as this season in when both the House of Councilors is up for election and for the first time half of the senate with a new political atmosphere in the Commonwealth, wherein the election of the two houses changes were made besides what was already mentioned for the National Congress different from the previous. In this election, there is an actual vote percentage threshold for political parties to receive a list seat in the National Congress. There are exemptions to getting past the threshold of 2% in the national list vote, such as receiving at least three constituency seats. However, if a party is in a political alliance then the requirements to receive a list seat is increased and stricter to where the alliance must receive 6% of the national list vote in order for any of its party members to receive a list seat in their name. In addition, a change that was made to the Senate and how it's elected besides how many senators are up for election, senators are now elected by the electoral system of a single transferable vote. For the Progressive Alliance Party, the party of President Mouri-Kudo, this change is a very significant one as it is most likely that the Commonwealth will not see a common occurrence of mainly progressive senators being elected. In the previous election the party of the president had a majority in the Senate with a huge program of the of votes in the house, but polls are showing that might change and many political experts are saying that it will change. Back in 2020, there were at least 15 million registered voters in the Commonwealth. Now there are 32 million with 25 million votes have already been counted and tallied with the results of the election soon to become clear and released by the Common Election Commission or CEC as we will commonly refer it.

The CEC is the new Bureau that is in charge of ensuring the elections of the Commonwealth. It acts as sort of an independent branch of the government, where the protect select rights and votes of all voting persons during an election. At the moment, the CEC has not released all the list voting data to be viewed by the press but they will soon as they have recently released the constituency results in the Commonwealth of Leagio. In Leagio, there is three main political alliances that will constantly reference not only today but throughout the next two years at most or at least. This depends on whether or not these alliances by 2024 have the strength and will to continue at that point with their partners.

In this election, the three main alliances are follows:

      • the Social-Progressives, which includes not only Mouri-Kudo's party but the Social Democratic Party

      • the United People's Front, which has been on the political field for over a year while being led by James Moriarty from the state of Freedonia where he has been sponsoring a platform of what he has been calling "Leagioan Socialism." This alliance includes not only the Socialist Union Party but also the Green Party and the Social Workers Party

      • the last main political alliance that has a significant role in the election today is the Republican Future Alliance, where it includes the Civil Populist Party, the Conservative Reform Party, and the Christian Democratic-Republicans.

These three main alliances are expected to have a strong chance to either have a majority or plurality of the 533 seat House of Counsilors and the 123 seat Senate. There is fourth alliance with two other political parties but polls do not expect that they will have a huge chunk of the seats nor vote in this election. The fourth alliance by the way is called Hope for Leagio which is jointly led by the Free Democratic Party and Eastern Leagio Party. The alliance formed by these two parties are not expected to receive a majority of the votes or a plurality. At best, pundits expect that they will be most likely the kingmaker of a coalition government between Eve or the Social Progressives or the Republican Future Alliance. This is important as another change that came by the time of this election is that the government a Leagio is no longer just run by the president with their cabinet. Instead, the government a Leagio is responsible to the House of Councilors that gives confidence to a Prime Minister selected by the president. The current government led by Prime Minister Marie Lahaye expects that the government will still continue even past this election with her in charge through a coalition government with the United People's Front.

President of the Commonwealth: Ran Mouri-Kudo (Progressive Alliance Party)
Governor-General of the Commonwealth: Magic Kaito (Leagioan Pact of Democracy)
EU Councilor for Leagio: Francis Plessis (CPP/ EDLR)

Good evening, the CEC has released the results but constituency seats of the house of councilors. The results are at the moment divided by party and the results by Alliance will be shown later as the list results are illustrated. Just to clarify, there are still the list seats and these results are not final as there are still 315 seats left to be called for each of these parties. Soon the CEC released the national vote list result, where it will be determined which parties or alliances will receive list seats in general. However, it looks like at the moment that the Socialist Union Party has gained a huge plurality of seats within the constituency sector with its left-leaning alliance partners in support.
