A Christmasy Summit (Spain - Mishar Summit)

Vigo, España
4th January 2024"With the lights, with the music...!", shouted Abel Caballero, the Mayor of Vigo, in a video that the newly appointed President of the Kingdom of Spain, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, was watching on his way to his homeland, Galicia. A few years back, Vigo had been pursuing something big: having the best Christmas lights of the entire Europe, and also the highest amount of them. Abel was obsessed with Christmas lights, and people from all around Spain loved to visit the place during Christmas. And according to starts from the Concello, it also seemed people around Europe had started to visit Vigo more and more.
Abel Caballero was not, however, a good friend of the President. In fact, they were not friends: Abel did not like the behaviour Alberto had had with his town when the latter was President of the Xunta de Galicia, the regional Government. And Alberto thought Abel Caballero was extremely wrong. Despite all of that, the Spanish President loved his homeland a lot, and decided that Vigo's Pazo Quiñones de León was the perfect place to welcome Mishar's Chairman of the Government, Joseph Helmfried, who had recently been appointed as the leader of the Mediterranean nation after the elections that had well-attracted the attention of the Spanish Government.
The Pazo Quiñones de León, a museum, was the place where the summit would happenAlberto and the Spanish delegation arrived to the Pazo, and the President was welcomed by some curious people waiting for him on his way to the Palace. Galicians loved their former President, and it was now time to make them love Alberto's Presidency. The summit with Mishar was, nevertheless, inherited from the past two administrations: while the Aguilar Government had been the one interested on pulling it out, Juncker's Administration added more topics to the agenda. The result? Feijóo just needed to let the election pass by in order to become the first leader that the Misharian Chairman would meet after his designation as the leader of Mishar. And viceversa. Two newbies, in a town filled with Christmas lights, 4 days after the start of a new year... What could possibly go wrong?

Amidst the vibrant glow of Christmas lights, Mishar's Chairman of the Government, Joseph Helmfried, descended upon Vigo with a delegation echoing a sense of enthusiasm and curiosity. The Spanish President, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, awaited their arrival at the Pazo Quiñones de León, a grand setting for a summit that promised a confluence of cultures and ideas.
As the Mishar delegation approached, a harmonious blend of festive spirit and diplomatic anticipation filled the air. Chairman Helmfried exchanged warm greetings with the Spanish delegation. Despite the geopolitical tensions between their nations, the leaders embraced the opportunity to forge a new chapter in diplomatic relations.
Amid the lively atmosphere, Helmfried extended heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to President Feijóo and his team. The Mishar delegation, composed of both seasoned diplomats and newcomers, seemed eager to engage in discussions that transcended borders and built bridges of understanding.
The Pazo Quiñones de León, adorned with Christmas lights, stood witness to this international rendezvous. The blend of Misharian and Spanish cultures created a unique backdrop for diplomatic discourse.
With two nations converging in a town draped in festive splendor, the stage was set for a summit that held the promise of cooperation, mutual understanding, and perhaps, a touch of the unexpected. As the leaders exchanged pleasantries and stepped into the ornate halls of the palace, the world watched with anticipation, wondering what could unfold in this meeting of new leaders against the backdrop of a town aglow with the magic of Christmas.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo and his team also exchanged warm greetings with the Misharian delegation, and extended heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to Chairman Helmfried as well. After some photographs were taken by the press, picturing this relevant diplomatic summit, both leaders were left in the absolute silence and privacy of the Pazo. Glasses of water had been served, and Alberto took a sip of his before starting to speak:
"Mr. Helmfried, once again, welcome to Spain! It is awesome to me, and also to the Spanish Government, to have you here today. I hope you did not find the huge amount of Christmas lights in Vigo too distressful. In any case, would you like anything else to drink or to eat? You can ask for whatever you want, believe me, Galicians cook very well. And I am not saying this because I was born here, in Galicia", Feijóo said before laughing slightly.
The Spanish President then took one of the papers he had over his table, that contained the many topics that would be discussed in Vigo: "As you know, the agenda for today is huge, so I think it is wise to begin now: first off, we have a free movement and trade agreement over the table, that would include visa-free travel and the many things that this kind of international agreements contain. Spain is willing to sign both agreements, and also to support an Eurorail expansion to Mishar in order to propel public transportation - specially pan-European rail transportation - in Mishar. What is your stance on the matter?", he asked.
