EUROPOL - Moving towards a Safer Europe for all
-
The proposed logo for EUROPOLDuring the past years, the European Union has suffered cruel attacks on many of it member states. And while the Europeans, especially those who had lost their most loved relatives or friends, cried for those losses, the ones who were and they still are responsible of those unbearable acts were scaping from the country and hiding anywhere in Europe, where they knew they wouldn't be caught or returned to the place where they did everything. By the time, the excellent police forces we have in our region have ended up cooperating, putting forward the interest of making the terrorists pay for what they did instead of how their Government's relatioships were.
Cooperation is something we, Europeans, take as a serious thing. In fact, it's one of the many values we have on this region, but also our best offer for those new nations that join us everyday. The European Union wouldn't be itself without such an important value as cooperation, and the European Commission, no matter who the Commissioner is, should work towards enhancing our common values, because these are the ones that make the European Union a better place for all, along with many other people which work hard for this region.
Of course, it's not necessary to talk about terrorists when it comes to EUROPOL. I will use the same example I used when I campaigned last summer for my re-election: if a thief, which has stolen thousands of people all around Europe, steals us our money, our jewellery, and scapes? What can we do to take our properties back afterall? Praying to God for the police forces to cooperate without any common link between them? Thanks to the Europol, we could have more possibilities to catch the thief, as he could not take refuge in any country. EUROPOL pretends to be the common link between police forces all around Europe, making cooperation its main value.
That's why I'll dedicate my 2nd term's last days to work on this proposal, giving it sense and letting it ready to the next Internal Affairs Commissioner. We, the Europeans, aim to be safe and we are starting to give big steps towards these aims.
