Restoring the Relation? Mennrimiak-Spain Summit
-
"I think it will be better if we get complete privacy, we dont want more news scandals do we?" He then gave the order to the people in the room to leave
"I think you should do the same Mr Aguilar, dont worry about your safety, the security in here is top notch and your guards can wait on the room next door, its okay trust me" -
Aguilar got of some papers from his briefcase and handled them to Sauli Niinisto. The Spanish President and his team have been working hard on a agreement to end with the crisis and retake normal diplomatic activity, along with easing trade. "As you can see in that paper, Mr. Niinisto, there are many measures which could serve to put an end to this weird conflict we both are sick of and want to put a solution as soon as possible. From the Kingdom of Spain we would like to propose the return of ambassadors to both capital cities, a tax cap on both Straits at 3%, with a possibility for both the GSSA and the ASMSA to lower them or raise them in case of another conflict and the co-operation between Spain and Mennrimiak to stop drug dealers from arriving to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. This 3 pillars are, in my opinion, a good starting point."
-
" They are indeed" Said Saulli " but excuse me if you find this a bit sudden but... i had other thing in mind,
Its about the Spanish Army Bases in Nofoaga that have bothered our Ministry of Defense since the very announcement of them, but now things have changed a lot since then and now The United Kingdoms of Mennrimiak are offering a once in a lifetime opportunity, We propose the Kingdom of Spain to fully relocate its military bases from Nofoaga into Mennrimiak!, the details have to be polished and this is subject to the approbation of both Spanish Defence Ministry and the Nofoagan Government but its a Great Oportunity nonetheless! I will let you think about it, we will of course not seal that deal today, a thing like this requires propper deliberation and we will give both Spain and Nofoaga enough time to disscuss and negotiate it.But just think about the benefits! Spain could help the MRCG (Mennrimian Royal Coast Guard) to stop drug dealers and help to establish a stronger relation ship between our Countries!
-
No, never - Aguilar thought, while the Mennrimian Prime Minister explained his plans to backstab Nofoaga and bring the bases to Mennrimiak. Of course, the Kingdom of Mennrimiak would turn into a friend nation as soon as the summit was over, but Spain was a country that respected agreements with countries. Also, the risk of putting the bases at Mennrimiak was high: The Reitzmics had bases in Mennrimiak, and putting Spanish bases there could be used by Reitzmag as a leeway to spy on the Spanish protocols and equipment. Nofoaga had a great position, and even if the offer was tempting, the bases wouldn't be moved from Nofoaga.
"Even if I'm thankful for you offer, Sauli, I must refuse it. The Kingdom of Spain and the Republic Nofoaga have a signed treaty concerning the location of the bases, and it wouldn't be sensical to move them away from the country we need to protect. While we will be open to fight drug dealers from the Caribbean nation, we cannot accept that offer. Strong relationships can be established by using many different ways, not by establishing bases; don't you think? I'm aware of the disturbance that the Ministry for Defence has about the bases over there but we are not attacking Mennrimiak and we have proved we are deployed in Nofoaga just to protect the country, not to attack anybody else. Anyway, this doesn't mean we are open to establish a base here, in Mennrimiak, in the forseeable future."
-
"Aww, i thought you heard the parts where i said that, We wont seal that deal today, or where i said, This requires proper deliberation between Spanish and Nofoagan authorities, and that, this should be disscussed with the Nofoagan Government too!
But oh well, what can i do? (Presidents i guess)
Anyways, do you have any other proposal you wanna make? -
Aguilar had heard perfectly the words said by the Mennrimian Prime Minister, but the offer wasn't going to be even discussed between Spain and Nofoaga. The answer was a single and brief no, and he needed to clarify this, so he decided to go on while one of his helpers handled him a copy of the treaty they would sign today.
"Mr. Niinisto, I have heard your words correctly, but the answer is a no. The bases cannot and will not be moved into Mennrimiak because that would be highly unproductive and risky for the defence of Nofoaga. We are not interested on moving those bases from there, and we won't even discuss with the Nofoagan Government that proposal. We are open to establish a base here in the forseeable future, but at the moment the answer is a no. Moving on, this is the Treaty proposal."
Aguilar then gave a copy to Sauli in order to sign the Treaty and end with the summit.

Signed,
D. Jesús Aguilar
President of the Kingdom of SpainMr. Sauli Niinisto
Prime Minister of the United Kingdoms of Mennrimiak
"Shall we sign this agreement?" Said Aguilar.
-
Not quite, i actually have more things that i want to be disscused before even thinking about signing this document
We are interested about mining in Spain as a first, its mines of iron and silicon are what grabs our attention the most, those would help our industry quite a lot, so, how do you think Spain could export those to Mennrimiak?
-
Jesús Aguilar felt like if he was being stopped from leaving the room and Mennrimiak, he needed to head towards Nofoaga sooner or later. So, he decided to go for the ratification way:
"I guess it is possible, but I would like to wait until the Congreso de los Diputados and the Senado de España ratify the treaty. We need to give little steps, not a huge step the chamber can pull back. I promise to call you in 3 or 5 months Sauli, so you can come to Spain and discuss all of these things." -
" * Sigh * Well then, i guess i should sign this so you can go,
(signs) well now for your pareliament to ratify it?" -
Aguilar signed the agreement and shook hands with Sauli, the agreement was done and he got what his cabinet and himself wanted, not more, not less. The Spanish President spoke for a last time before concluding the summit: "Mr. Niniisto, it's been a pleasure for me to sign this agreement that will for sure be given priority by the Congreso and the Senado. I wish you the best and I hope to see you soon."
After a friendly goodbye, the Spanish President left to the Airport, where the Presidential plane was waiting. He got onto it and the plane took off, leaving the European American continent behind. "Ahora entiendo porqué Cristóbal volvió más veces (Now I understand why Cristopher returned to this lands)". The summit had concluded.
