[Discussion] The Situation in Republic Nofoaga
-
Fellow members of EU Council, the past few days within Republic Nofoaga have been disturbing. So far, without any doubts, information about what is happening to still come to our governments. My government has recently shown to me documents and testimony from political refugees coming to Leagio (as well as Leagioan Citzens currently in the process of getting out of Republic Nofoaga as we speak) that the events happening right out are the basis of what can be described as a Fascist Coup that began with the arrest of Republic Nofoaga Supreme Court justices and the removal political protection that members of the Republic Nofoaga legislative branch.
The President of Republic Nofoaga, Nikola N'nago, has from this moment shown to his own people that they are below him and he wants his policies done through sheer force and dominance. In addition, he has shown to hold a grudge against the position of the Commonwealth of Leagio for its admittance of political refugees from the Republic Nofoaga. The evidence that at least gives my government this impression is that his immigration agents have prevented Leagioan Citizens that were originally in Republic Nofoaga for vacation from leaving the island nation.
I ask that EU Council help in finding a solution to this crisis that the European Union is witnessing within its own region. We must ensure that the flames of hate and tyranny can be stopped. Because if it is not, then it will spread like cancer to the region.

Elections are going to be held, but still it's a good idea to discuss the events in Republic Nofoaga. The Kingdom of Spain has its army deployed there thanks to an agreedment in which Spain is incharge of the Defence of Republic Nofoaga. We have tried to mediate between the rioters, to force the Goverment to release the politicians that have been arrested as to get that curfew relaxed. Also, we said that we were not going to take part in any arrest or forcing the rioters to do what we want, because is not the Spanish Army job.
I would like to say that the Kingdom of Spain is offering itself to negociate and search a peaceful and equal solution for both sides.

Dear collegues,
I'm standing in front of you to assure you of my representation of all Nofoagans. French, Nofoagan. We share this island. We share this common dream of prosperity and freedom.
I understand the concerns of several EU member states on the ongoing situation on this tiny island. The dream of prosperity and freedom is currently shadowed by segregation, intolerance and violence. The government of Nofoaga however, does not allow this. To prevent worse and to put our shoulders back to our common dream, the government has indeed taken some temporary measures. I emphasize 'temporarily'.
New elections were announced this morning so that everyone can speak out. The President and his team are not keen to cling to any form of power. The accusation some make here, for example tyranny or dictatorial traits, is at the most inappropriate and not in line with reality.
Conversation between different groups is always good and should be encouraged. Active interference in a Member State on home affairs is a bridge too far. I advocate awaiting election results and reviewing them afterwards. Then we can see where we can contribute.

If the Kingdom of Spain can ensure that negotiation can be achieved between the two sides that bring an end to this crisis, then the Commonwealth would satisfied.
My government's only condition is that a team of observers from the Leagioan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is allowed to witness as well as forward any progress to the Common Government in Tullion made within Republic Nofoaga, especially with the elections that will be happening in Republic Nofoaga on August. This way the Commonwealth will be satisfied in knowing that everything that happens within Republic Nofoaga will be democratic and everyone in the island nation has an open voice.
