Roscoes operates by Fair Wage and Fair Trade principles. In each market we operate in or buy from we ask local unions, business organisations that represent the suppliers , businesses and experts on cost of living or cost of producing goods in the said country what the minimum profitable price for supplier is and in the case of wages the minimum livable wage. This is set as the base wage for the lowest paid workers in the company in that country or in case of goods the minimum price Roscoes will pay. If production costs rise Roscoes will make sure suppliers can keep the same margins on the product so raise the price they pay to account for this and if the market price falls below the cost of production Roscoes will never pay below the profitable price. We believe it is unfair to profit of exploitative market pricing so will never cut the price we pay to suppliers below their cost of production unlike some other supermarkets and retailers. We believe this is the only fair way to do business.All direct Roscoes employees also get an even split of the profit of the whole Roscoes Group regardless of the country they are in , over the last decade this has averaged over €3,000 a year given through the Roscoes Welfare Fund , if an employee falls ill or bad circumstances hit a family such as a hurricane destroying their house we make sure to cover any extra expenses they may have as a result such if they might struggle to pay co-pay on their insurance claim for example. This is to make sure workers do not suffer as a result of misfortune. We believe Roscoes is a family and in a family you look after each other.
