Emergency Discussion - Intervention in Northern Alkharya
-
Addressing the people in the council,
The Northern part of Alkharya has unfortunately succumbed to Northern insurgence backed by traitors in the Alkharyan military. Their goal is to create a rogue state in which a "monarch" rules all over the country with no one there to question their authority. The previous councillor before me, whose name I will not mention, has gotten on a power trip with her position, disregarding Alkharyan authority and causing division in my homeland. She was a corrupt fraud that tried to portray herself as a hero but ended up dying on the feet of a tree not even a week later. The insurgence resulted in hundreds of thousands being barred from their homes, as the government in Kaanpaşa desperately tries to help everyone who has been affected by the instability.
This illegitimate state in question, which calls itself The Alkharyan Realm, is nothing short of a military junta dictatorship. There is no government there, no laws, only the mercy of the terrorists who once called themselves soldiers. They suppress the media, prevent people from checking whether or not if their elections are legitimate and held people at gunpoint to vote in their independence referendum. We are talking about millions of lives that are at the line here. We cannot trust their elections, they won't be free or fair. Therefore, as the European Councillor of the Alkharyan Republic, I hope that the European Union will help Alkharya to intervene and stop this atrocity.
After the threat in the North has been eliminated, The Alkharyan Republic plans to:
1 - Re-write the political system from the ground up to ensure no conflict at this level happens in the future.
2 - Fund reconstruction of the Northern regions affected by the insurgence.
3 - Strengthen its anti-terrorism laws and enforce them in more efficient ways.
4 - Arrest and charge criminals responsible for this conflict. We are looking forward to collaboration.
Metin Fazlı
European Councillor of the Alkharyan Republic -
As the representant of the Kingdom of Mennrimiak i will only support our official stance, and it is that this is an internal affair of alkharya and thus the EU shall not intervene, im sorry to say this but this problem is in no point of comparision with what is happening with the UoS and its terrorist attacks around many european member states and as this problem has not left Alkharyan borders the EU must remain neutral. (OOC: Periodt Xd)
Karl Henderssen
Interim Councillor for Mennrimiak -
I would like to mention that the intervention is going to happen, regardless of whether or not the European Union supports it. I have opened this motion to see if the European Union (or it's subsequent member states) are interested in helping Alkharya out to eradicate terrorism off the grounds and make Alkharya united again.
Metin Fazlı
European Councillor of the Alkharyan Republic -
What is occurring in Alkharya at the moment is Alkharya's business. I am sure that many of my most esteemed colleagues will agree with me when I say that the European Union is not the regional police. The only time I see it appropriate for the European Union to intervene is if it starts affecting the stability of our region-- which I don't think this incident has at large. As long as this rebellion has not violated the international conventions of war and are not infringing on other nations' territory, it is my belief the European Union should not intervene directly.
I think there might be a case to be made though to give support to the Alkharyan state that is the member-state of the EU as well as providing some aid to the government. But any motion like this, Ruthund will stay out of.
Tony Odhinazen
EU Councilor, Ruthund -
I believe is in the best interest of Montebourg to help the Alkharyan people on their pursuit for a more fruitful democratic system.
