Black House
March 25 2022Early in the morning, preparations are made for the oncoming guests. Simon and the members of the cabinet prepared themselves early to greet the Gallic delegation. The media also start flocking in, along with crowds lining the road from the air base to the palace. The honour guards from the military also arrived to prepare for the ceremony at the grounds of the palace, along with the Royal Horse Artillery that will provide the gun salute.

At the Air base, a squadron of Felon F.15 stealth fighter jets are dispatched to escort the arriving Gallic delegates from the air. They immediately approach the coming plane and guide it to the runway where they break formation. The control tower then takes over and guides the plane towards the ramp where a stair is waiting along with a car convoy and a few honour guards. The guests board the convoy and are taken to the palace with crowds lining up and the media covering their arrival.
Black House
Back at the Black House, everything is set and the colours are waiting. All who was left were the Gallics, but not for long. Moments later, a convoy with police escorts arrive bringing the guests to the Palace grounds. Simon walks a few steps down to greet his visitors. And everyone gives a bow, a gesture of respect that everyone employs since Asians arrived at the country more than two hundred years ago. He then also shakes his counterpart's hand the way he's used to.
SB: "I'm very glad to see you Ms. Pecresse, I hope you are pleased at our way of welcoming our guests like you. Please, shall we proceed?"
Simon guided his counterpart to a place where the honour guards will provide some ceremony. While they're on their way, they start having a small conversation.
SB: "I'm quite surprised with your visit here, may I know what brings you here?"
-
Valerie paused for a moment. This was her first foreign policy trip. She knew she couldn't be too ambitious. Reitzmag could be an important ally against communism.
"We want to open the arms of friendship," Pecresse said. "Why don't we start with free trade?"
-
SB: "I'm very glad to hear that Ms. Pecresse. And I would love to discuss more about that later in the meeting."
Simon and Valerie stood over a small pedestal in front of the guards of honour. The lead guard of honour then approaches them and gives the salute, before then signaling the band. The National Anthem of Reitzmag is then played, followed by the National Anthem of Gallorum, both of which are accompanied by gun salutes from the Royal Horse Artillery providing them from the nearby green. The colour party raise the flags of both countries as their national anthems are played. After the fanfare and ceremonies, the guards then march past the two leaders and salute for a grand exit. When the band also exits, Simon and Valerie come down and proceed into Geunjeongjeon where the Gallic leader signed on the guest book. They then take a picture and proceed to another building where a room with a long table is prepared for the meeting.
SB: "So Ms. Pecresse, I'm interested in what you just said a while ago outside. Could you tell me more about these arms of friendship you were pertaining. And for the free trade, of course our country will be open to such with your country considering our diverse and rich resources."
-
VP: Well, our country is open for our resources. We have coal, iron, natural gas, nickel, sodium, potassium, copper. We will be glad to trade with Reitzmag. Trade will keep communism at bay.
-
SB: "I am glad with your enthusiasm at conducting deeper trade relations with us and the interest in each other's national resources that we share. I am ready to include a Free Trade Agreement between our countries for the final document of today's agreement. What intrigues me the most is your anti-communist sentiment, something we also share as we want to keep Communism away considering the near-destruction of our country from the conflict 2 years ago. Please, could you tell me more about what your country thinks of communism? And more specifically, on the UNSR which recently gained the EU's recognition."
-
VP: We have frosty relations with the UNSR. Gallorum is opposed to the spread of communist ideology. Nations like Czech Slavia concern us. That the ENAA made a huge mistake giving them nuclear weapons. Now there are three potentially hostile neighbours with nuclear warheads. Now they have expanded the cold war.
-
SB: "I understand that the idea of anti-Communism remains very prevalent in your country, and we both know the threat these communist countries could pose just like when they almost destroyed a major space project of our nation. That is, along with aggressive powers that aimed to undermine and downsize our nation. But if we were asked to choose between the UNSR and the UDI, we'd rather take the UNSR after how the UDI almost caused chaos and instability in our country by allowing extremists to occupy the cities we leased for their use as refugees. Although, this does not necessarily mean that we are in support of the communist regime. Speaking of nuclear warheads, we are of course known for taking such issue very seriously and created defensive measures to prevent our country from ever being hit by any nuclear weapon. And this is especially true now that we're in a situation where nuclear powers use their weapons as symbols of prestige and position to bully smaller states, something they no longer are able to do to us with our continually expanding influence across the region. I am well aware that your nation of course is a nuclear power, but we do not see Gallorum so far as any threat to our national security and is rather more interested in further partnerships with it. Our nation is most especially interested in the possibility of a partnership on deterring aggressive nations and mutual defense. Considering that we have the most effective delivery systems for your nuclear deterrent, and also the best defense systems against such WMDs, while your nation has the nuclear deterrent capability, I have thought that a partnership between our nations would be very effective against any threat to both our nations."
"I do recognize that our offer may be quite peculiar, but of course I would not be the one to decide as this is our proposal. So, what do you say Ms. Pecresse?"
Simon leant back to his seat and took a sip of water waiting for the Gallic Prime Minister's response. A tight bond between the country to any active nuclear power is a brand new strategy, that surely would frighten the aggressive powers of the time. He had high hopes, but not high expectations to preserve his dignity in case the other side refused the offer.
-
VP: I'm very flattered but we can revisit this another time.
