Northern Europe Economic Alliance
General Information: The alliance is an economic one that will focus on the region of Northern Europe; to protect and improve the economy of the region and its members, boost ties and establish free trade zones. It is yet to be founded.
Basic Ideals
Section 1: Legislation & Membership
(i): Upon membership, the policies and terms of the alliance may be implemented over a one-month period; no member state is obliged to implement these legislations immediately upon joining.
(ii): Upon membership, all member nations can critique the policies and legislations.
(iii): Changes will be implemented if 50% of the member nations vote “yes” to a change or policy. The duration of implementing these changes will be specified along with the proposal.Section 2: Economy
(i): In the event of an economic crisis within a member nation, the following policies may not apply (excluding v & vi) [within Article 2]
(ii): Elimination of custom barriers and duties between member states.
(iii): Citizens and organisations of member states are free to establish businesses (excluding those having affiliation to any government or having any relation to defence or arms manufacturing) in another member state subject to the laws of the foreign member state.
(iv): Docking fees for commercial vessels will be discounted within the organisation.
(v): All private organisations and individuals are free to move capital or invest within the organisation. Organisations affiliated with any government are subject to the government’s decision.
(vi): Establishment of the Northern Europe Investment Bank aiming at economic expansion within the alliance.
(vii): Establishment of a free-roaming zone.Section 3: Visa Requirements and Immigration
(i): Visitors who are citizens of member states are to freely visit without a visa.
(ii): Skilled workers of a member nation with a promised professional job who are deemed eligible by another member nation’s government shall be allowed to immigrate.
(iii): Skilled workers of member nations deemed eligible to immigrate to another member state who are yet to find a job but wish to immigrate to that nation are to be promised 6 months of stay; subject to certain circumstances.Section 4: Security & Membership
(i): Necessary commodities are to be discounted by the constituent nations of the organisation to member nations in the event of a recession or security threat.
(ii): Any member nation may be removed if they are seen as a threat to any other member nation/s.
(iii): Members may join at 50% vote and leave anytime.Section 5: Culture
(i): Member nations shall allow for educational exchange programs and promotion of member nations’ cultures. -
