Tarek for Internal Affairs Commissioner
I am Tarek. I believe in Europe and the power it has but sadly so many of the latest commissions have done nothing and not engaged with member states as they should. This has led to a rise in euro-scepticism and threatens the Unions very survival in the long term. We need to make the EU relevent again , we need to unleash the power of the EU in partnership with nations and we need to engage with and listen to member states . Thats why if elected there will be no flash pizazz but simply a hard working commissioner who will listen to the nations and commit to the following promises:
1.Commit to holding a conference with the nations member states and European Councillors on what nations want , no agenda just listening
2: Commit to a new conference on our biggest challenge of this time , fighting climate change and environmental pollution. I will to this end organise a Green Europe Conference
3:Work to expand Green transport and Eurorail projects in Europe in partnership with any internal affairs commissioner. We have a great tool to fight climate change lets use it and unleash the power of Europe
4.Work with member states to ask where they want EU to help their nations more and what projects of cooperation they would like to see
5. Try to finally complete reforms and bring the European Union democracy closer to the people and reform institutions that need reform with the Premier Comissioner such as European Court of Justice and explore alternative voting and representitive models in the EU councilI will let the nations guide me and unleash the power of the Union. My friends I have worked in Europe . I love Europe and love the EU but we have to say enough is enough. Every day I see untapped potential in the EU and its nations , I see untapped potential in all the agencies people who could do so much if unleashed in power on Europe but we don't unleash the power beause of inactive commissions , campaigns that promise big but don't deliver. Surely we need better, surely we need a better standard. And with that I introduce to the stage a man I know can deliver as IAC and will try his hardest to unleash the power while respecting nationstates, let me introduce your servant of the European people Tarek Al-Wazir!Tarek Al-Wazir:Thank you my friend James , I would first of all like to thank you for your service to your country and Europe. You have shown compassion, honesty and integrity in politics and action and activity. My country thanks you.
And now moving on to the really important people , the people of Europe the citizens. I have spoke to so many in Duchies and in preparing for this campaign took soundings from Europe and I get the same answers from all , Europe isn't working for them . Every so many months people come do a big campaign , promise the Earth but never deliver.
This is not good enough , the people of Europe frankly deserve better. We have far more in common than apart and if only Europe worked, Together we could achieve so much , so much potential is wasted and that is what I intend to solve. I will as promised do a meeting of all leaders and listen not set an agenda , not tell them what I want of them , listen just listen and then work out how to achieve what the nations want, that is the kind of commissioner I will be. This is not so dissimilar to what I do in Duchies in cross party talks with coalition partners as well opposition members for many bills , so I can work with others very effectively.
Secondly we are running out of time on a major issue. Every day floods get worse ,droughts get worse and poorest suffer those with the least suffer the most. I am of course talking of climate change and the environmental crisis we face. Many are doing their part but where is the elites doing their part, where is the joint plan at the EU level for this global crisis. This is not a crisis one nation can solve, it requires an international agreement and I will aim to finally secure such an agreement once again in a conference of nations and survey of nations on the subject seperate from the current issues.
Finally on the environment I seek to expand Eurorail to compete with air travel more effectively. We have such an effective solution that could help fight climate change and make peoples lives so much better , imagine no airport length security queues while also feeling good about saving the planet and saving time and just sitting while Ogoflixing and chilling or watching whatever service you use or the productive work time on a train or just sleeping. We need more of that we need more Eurorail and also sleeper services and I will make it a priority to get nations to sign up to the programme and investigate setting up a new Eurorail Nightjet service where you can get on the train at night sleep and wake up in your destination.
Finally I move on to reform , we need an EU where countries feel listened to big or small , rich or poor. I promise to work on that. I will take past research and conduct a new consultation on democratic reforms to bring democracy closer to the people in the EU but also look at areas of reform in European Court of Justice and how nations are represented in the council. Some big nations have complained over the years how they don't get their population and size of contribution reflected in the vote which is a fair point but we also must not make it fully dependent on population and vote , that is why I will look into the double majority vote that has been muted by some, maybe it is the time to look at how to implement such a system . Of course its not just my ideas of reform I will also listen to the nations to the leaders and the people and see what they want for that is what truly matters. A statement on the undemocratic and illegitimate election I am part of
I would like to make a statement about the disgusting undemocratic nature of my essential crowning. It is unbelievable one could possibly even believe it is democratic to win in what is essentially and an undemocratic crowning with only one choice on the ballot. I fully back my countries position to not vote in protest of this lack of choice.This is the sort of election that even undemocratic hellholes such as Svarna Surya would not allow having at least a paper opposition. Tin pot dictatorships have elections with more official choices. That is not a healthy place for European Union democracy. I will be working with the European Councillor from the Duchies to get an emergency amendment tabled that elections can only take place once a quorum of minimum of two candidates for the position is met in the election to allow a true choice , and in circumstances where there is not enough running the position is held vacant until such a time the requirement is met and the new leader elected. I will of course serve any term crowned or not to save the waste of resources but will focus on a two pronged strategy of ensuring such a circumstance cannot happen again both by law but also by making sure activity is heightened by increasing participation by EU countries in the EU. We cannot accept or tolerate the status quo of the EU having the same legitimacy and status of elections as that of tin-pot dictatorships and must fight to restore real democracy and legitimacy to EU procedures.

Statement on election
I will of course accept any nomination and election from this process with a view to reforming the system to never allow a single candidate election ever again and reforms to ensure democratic participation is high to make sure there are real choices in the future. The definition of democracy according to the dictionary "A formal and organized choice by vote of a person for a political office or other position." I ask how one candidate can be considered a "choice" when the definition of choice is "an act of choosing between two or more possibilities." Not two or more possibilities requires at least one other candidate. We must investigate how a single candidate election came around as it sets a dangerous precedent for European democracy. -
Intention to rerun
I would like to thank those who have stood up so hard for European democracy and protested so hard against the sham that was allowing a single candidate election to go ahead. However the fight is not won, now we have a different danger, 2 write in candidates in a process which has not been tested but which is also a great danger to the process by allowing people not on the ballot to gain power. This is not how elections are supposed to be run , its supposed to be simple in requirements and common sense , you have a choice between two or more candidates if neither can get a majority of the people then you rerun the election so more can run that people will be happier with and that is what Europe needs to fight for REAL democracy not illegitimate one candidate elections or joke results of write ins winning. A write in winning is a sign that people don't like the process or candidates and its maybe time to rerun. That is why I intend to rerun in actual competitive and democratically legitimate elections not ones worthy of an autocratic state like Svarna Surya like the ones I ran in. I will also continue to pursue with colleagues reform of the EU to ensure this never happens again requiring 2 candidates for any election process to be triggered.
