PEL - Our Manifesto for Europe
-
Section I: International Affairs
-
Coventry didn't kill himself.
-
We want to stop the interference of countries in the internal affairs of the other nations.
-
Every country must have national self-determination
-
We condemn monarchies of all kinds as a system of government.
-
Every nationality has the right to existence as a separate national state.
-
We condemn the theocracy as a form of government.
*We hold that war torn countries are not victims of their own actions but of imperialism; that its poverty and number of refugees are a direct result of the process of accumulating capital and the capitalist structure in general. -
Provide refugees aid where they are rather than encouraging them to make a dangerous voyage to other countries.
Section II: The Economy
-
The wealth must be shared between citizens.
-
The means of production must be owned by the workers and we will support movements for the common ownership of the means of production.
-
The need to educate the workers in order so they don't fall into the tricks of capitalism.
-
We oppose the neoliberal globalisation of the economy.
-
We believe that humanity is but a single part of a vast ecology; that it must attempt to integrate itself with the natural world rather than attempting to fight it.
-
We are in favour of abolishing the European Central Bank.
Section III: the European Union
-
Dignity, equality, and solidarity are the core principles we represent when it comes to questions of civil liberties and human rights in Europe and beyond.
In the continuing debate about the future direction of the European Union, we put forward alternative visions and challenge dominant neoliberal dogma. We want a Europe free from antidemocratic and neoliberal policies. -
We see the necessity for a deep-rooted social and democratic transformation of Europe. Yes, the time has come to intensify struggles that challenge the dogma of the sacrosanct "market economy with free competition", the power of the financial markets and multinationals, and, instead, to make our citizens active agents of the policies carried out in their name.
-
We undertake to work everywhere in Europe to advance the rights of wage-earners in their work-places. We consider that public services are an indispensable means for guaranteeing the right of equal access of everyone to education, water, food, health, power and transportation. We are in favour of modernized, decentralized and democratized public services which ensure social rights for everyone.
-
We want to act so that the elected national parliaments have more powers of action and control.
-
At the heart of the crisis of the European Union is Democracy. For decades the European Union has been constructed from above, with disregard for its great diversity of cultures and languages - without its people and often against them.
-
We want to create a more open European Commission; not one that sits in an ivory tower, but one that actively consults the people of Europe.
-
Amend the Free Movement of Required Labour Act 2014 to make sure Labour unions have a final say on the movement of workers into their country, and a maximum level of unemployment for the country where the immigrants can go for them to receive key immigrants.
Section IV: Miscellaneous
-
We support the equality of all people and their liberation from tyranny of all forms.
-
Grant the oppressed liberty, work, a home, free health care, a free education system of quality and the basic rights of men and women.
-
We support grassroots journalism and the use of responsible media.
-
We support the formation of participatory structures of governance.
-
Trans indentity should be a protected class under humans rights, the increased access of sex-change surgery, and increased healthcare spending on trans services, including counceling.
-
We defend the need for citizens to access information by protecting whistleblowers and making sure big technology companies cannot abuse our data.
-
We hold that dogma is not above human needs; that we will not ignore the people of Europe simply to carry out points dictated by those who lived long ago.
-
