A True Caring Best Friend For Life
-
Mikaela was seated on her couch, watching TV. All the curtains were closed and the lights were all turned off, leaving nothing but the brightness of the television screen to lighten up the room. The Archbishop sat on the couch with her feet perched up to her side and a blanket covering her entire body. She was eating ice cream right out of the ice cream container. Naturally, of course, it was mint-flavoured ice cream.
The Archbishop was in an emotional stupor. She had been seated on this couch for almost an entire day straight, doing nothing but watching mind-numbing break-up and self discovery movies. Currently, the Archbishop was watching Eat, Pray, Love, but she had recently just gotten through watching Crazy, Stupid, Love, John Tucker Must Die and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. At this point, all the plots of the movies have converged and mixed together in Mikaela's brain, and she was unable to keep track of what was going on.
Mikaela's phone then began to ring. The Archbishop let out out a loud sigh and disappointed sigh, as picking up the phone required her to move and expend what little energy she felt she had. She reached over to her side and picked up her phone from a small table positioned next to the sofa. Mikaela looked at her phone and realised it was Prime Minister Simon Bridges. She smiled and answered.
"Hello, Simey?"
-
Simon was relieved to hear Mikaela answer.
"Mikaela, how are you?" asked Simon.
"I'm very worried about you now. Is everything alright?" he asked as he gets nervous on what Mikaela would say.
He went to the window and seated next to it to get a pretty stable signal.
-
"Well, I'm speaking to you, so of course I am doing great!" Mikaela answered with a laugh. "I'm doing... doing alright. As alright as you can be in a situation like this, you know?"
Mikaela grabbed a remote with her other hand and paused the movie that was playing on the television. "Oh, please don't worry about me Simey," she answered with a slight tinge of embarrassment in her voice, feeling bad that many of her friends have seen this scandalous news. "I'm taking things easy right now. Just spending time with myself at the moment. Watching some movies. Have I ever told you that I love Julia Roberts? She's probably my favourite actress of all time. She's so great."
-
"Mikaela, I understand your situation. But this is different now, and I want to help you as a BFFL. Do you want to watch a movie with me? I'll send my private jet and guards to bring you to my family estate. We can watch Julia Roberts there." said Simon trying to show Mikaela how he cares for her.
Simon exited Downing Street and went to his estate by car. On the road, he continued his conversation with Mikaela.
-
"O-M-G! You really mean that, Simey? That's very sweet of you, and this sounds lovely. I would love to do that. I will try and catch that flight as soon possible! I just need to get myself ready. You might have to wait a bit, but I will be on my way in no time. Let me get ready and then we'll talk again real soon, ok? Ok, bye Simey!"
Mikaela hung up on her phone and jumped off her couch. She turned on the lights and darted up the stairs to the bathroom. Mikaela took a long, hot shower, carefully dried her hair, and then covered herself in a towel. Mikaela then strutted to her salon room. Mikaela then began to carefully apply her make up, which took an extremely long time. It would be hours until Simon's private jet showed up anyway, so Mikaela knew she had some time. Mikaela then also proceeded to do her hair, which also took an unnecessarily long while. Once she was satisfied with her hair and makeup, Mikaela nonchalantly walked into a nearby closet and began to try on different outfits. Mikaela eventually found an outfit that she loved, put it on, and she admired it in a mirror.
Mikaela then collected her belongings, organized her purse, and then went down to her underground garage. Mikaela got in her pink convertible and then raced down to the private section of Ludovico II International Airport, where all the private jets took off from. Traffic was quite bad, but Mikaela had ample time. After enduring a slight traffic jam, Mikaela eventually made it to the airport and to her private terminal. Mikaela then spent some time patiently for the Prime Minister's private jet to arrive. The jet eventually arrived and Mikaela went onboard.
...
The Archbishop arrived at Prime Minister Simon Bridge's private residence, accompanied by guards which were sent to protect her. When Mikaela pulled up by the residence, she was greeted by the Prime Minister.
"Oh Simey, it's so good to see you," Mikaela announced with glee as she stepped out of her vehicle.
-
Simon was at his bedroom when Mikaela arrived. As soon as he had been notified, he went downstairs to welcome her.
"Mikaela, good to see you again." said Simon as he approached Mikaela.
Simon took her inside the house and gave her a seat at the very large living room. There were lots of pictures of Simon and his family on the walls, shelves, and the piano. One of which was his picture as a kid.
Simon went to the kitchen and took a bottle of wine and some wineglasses. He gave Mikaela one glass then began to setup the movie.
"So, how was your flight?" asked Simon.
As Mikaela responded, Simon went to the private theatre to make sure everything's ready. Then he took Mikaela to the movie theatre and asked her what movie would she want to watch.
"I've got lots of movies here, there's Wonder, Money Monster, Secret in Their Eyes, and more. Just tell me which one you picked."
-
Mikaela appreciated Prime Minister Bridge's private residence. It was quite spacious, and very sleek. Overall, it was a lovely abode. The Archbishop loved and admired all the pictures on the walls and shelves. Mikaela's heart skipped a beat when she saw the picture of young Prime Minister Bridges. "Awwwww, you were sooooo cute Simey," she commented with great cheerfulness. "I bet you got all the girls on the playground."
The Archbishop very happily accepted the glass of wine, she then immediately began to sip. "I had a great flight. I took some xanax and then napped the entire time. I haven't gotten a lot of sleep recently, so it was good to catch up a little."
Mikaela then wondered around the Prime Minister's DVD library in his private theatre. "Oh my goodness, DVDs. This is very early 2000's. Such a good era. It truly was, and I'm not just saying that because that's the time people were actually buying my music," Mikaela thought out loud with a great sense of nostalgia. "Hmmm, let's start by watching Wonder, I haven't seen that one yet."
-
"Ok then, let's have a seat. Just enjoy the movie as my staff serve us drinks and food." said Simon
He inserted the DVD to the player and the movie started. Then he went to one of the seats next to Mikaela. His wife was at work but she might come soon.
-
The Archbishop was thoroughly enjoying the movie, particularly the acting performances given by Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. However, the chemistry and strong bond between Roberts and Wilson's characters made Mikaela feel quite sad, and brought her mind back to her beloved Juan-Bernardo. At the same time, the child in the movie cheered Mikaela up, as it provided her with some perspective of what is actually most important in her life: her daughter, Alexandra.
Mikaela then turned and glanced at Simon beside her. "Hey, do you have any popcorn by chance? Maybe even peanut butter M&Ms? I would love some! Oh, I also think I need a wine refill."
Mikaela downed her wine and gave her glass to Simon. "Thank you so much, Simey."
-
"Sure, we have lots of food here. And yeah you can just request anytime." said Simon.
He turned to the staff and signaled them to give them popcorn, peanuts, M&Ms, and more wine. After 5 minutes, the food was served. A table was in front of them so they can eat while they watch.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bridges was on the way home. Simon told her already to go to the estate. Later, Mrs. Bridges arrived and the staff told her that Simon and Mikaela are in the theatre room. She walks in and kisses Simon hello. She had a seat and was astonished to meet Mikaela for the first time.
"Oh my god! The famous Mikaela Kligenberg! Wow, I can't believe this is true!" said Jamie happily upon meeting Mikaela.
-
Mikaela laughed and gave Mrs. Bridges a hug. "O-M-G! I can't believe I'm meeting the Jamie Bridges right now. I've heard so many good things about you! Come, come, join us."
Mikaela moved to the side and propositioned for Mrs. Bridges to seat herself between the Prime Minister and herself. Mikaela sat down, crossed her legs and looked at Mrs. Bridges. "Your husband is such a lucky man, look at you! Girl, you look stunning. What's your secret?"
The Archbishop glanced at the Prime Minister before then returning her focus to Mrs. Bridges. "You two also make such an adorable couple. I was looking at your family pictures earlier, and you two are sooooo cute together! I need your advice on what it takes to have a successful relationship. Gimme all your relationship tips."
-
Jamie gave Mikaela a hug too before she sat down with them.
"Well, the best advice we can give to you is to put your trust to each other. No matter what happens. And of course make your husband always scared at you. Right honey?" Jamie said and laughed at the end.
"Yeah umm, right." said Simon slowly trying to pretend he liked getting scolded by Jamie every single time.
"You know Mikaela, sometimes we women have to be a bit hard on our husbands. Trust me, it works." said Jaimie as she winked at Simon then laughs.
"Well yeah she always handles my salary every time I get it." said Simon as he laughs.
"So, I see you had a problem. I'm sure you'll get through it. Just follow our advice and it'll work. Like for example Simon and I have been making a promise on our family plan." said Jamie.
"Well that is because he wants 6 kids and I want only 2." whispered Jamie to Mikaela.
-
"Oh my gosh, 6 kids? Maybe if Simey grew a uterus, he could," Mikaela whispered back at Jamie with a smile. Mikaela then looked up at Prime Minister Bridges.
"You have a very clever wife, Simey. It's good that you trust her with your salary!" Mikaela laughed. Mikaela then gave the Prime Minister an empathetic look. "I'm sure with President Aguilar scolding you, Jamie's scolding isn't nearly as bad."
The Archbishop took a sip from her wine before continuing. "This is great advice! Thank you both. You're such a lovely couple! Do you two have any children yet, or are you only in the planning stage?"
-
Simon and Jamie laughed a bit as they chatter with Mikaela.
"Well we still are working hard to have kids. Hopefully we reach about 6." said Simon then he smiles at his wife.
"Hey I can't take that much, just two. Mikaela, we're just planning to have 2 kids." said Jamie with a bit of a fierce face at Simon then she winks at Mikaela.
"But may I know Mikaela, how hard is it to give birth to a child?" asked Jaimie.
-
"Oh! I haven't ever gone through that," Mikaela laughed. "My daughter, Alex, is five. I used to be her godmother, so I adopted her after her parents passed away. So I don't know! All I know is that I wouldn't want to go through it 6 times," Mikaela smiled as she looked at Jamie.
-
Simon and Jaimie laughed.
"So well it seems we're pretty much enjoying this. Why don't we just go to the pool and relax there as we continue the chatter. I think that would be a more suitable place than here in the theatre room." said Simon as he stands.
"So Mikaela, shall we?" said Jaimie.
-
"Sure!" Mikaela agreed. Mikaela then joined the couple and wandered outside to their pool. "O-M-G! What a lovely backyard."
-
Simon and Jaimie took their seats as they relaxed. Later on the dogs Jean and Joe came to them.
"Jean! Joe! You two cute little darlings." shouted Simon as he waits for the dogs to come.
-
"Awww, so adorable!" Mikaela squealed with glee as she hugged Jean and Joe. "Yes, such good boys." Mikaela then enthusiastically rubbed their ears and then patted their heads.
"I have two Inqusitan terriers, called Sir and Duchess. I should have brought them over for a play date! Maybe next time."
After playing with the dogs for a while, and chatting with Simon and Jamie Bridges, Mikaela began to feel a lot better. All of her worries dissipated and she felt in much higher spirits.
"Thank you so much, SImey, for inviting me over today. This was a lovely escape. You sure know you to treat your friends right! I'm feeling much better already," Mikaela commented as she gave the Prime Minister a hug. The Archbishop then gave Jamie Bridges a hug. "It was lovely to meet you, Jamie! Please feel free to call me anytime. We need to do face masks together one day."
After thanking her hosts, the Archbishop then bid the couple an adieu, and left to catch a flight back to Saint Dominico.
