February 15, 2021“Mr. President….Mr. Governor-General…We were not expecting to see the two of you here today…at the same time, especially.” Said a Birdy Cephon Altera.
“Yea, well, there are many ways to keep the press in believing that you are one place but actually in another.” President Kenieth Lifejumper responded with a smirk.
“Is Dr. Akagi here, Birdy?” The soon to be former Governor-General Mark Gorge responded.
“Yes, I will go and get her. I will be real quick.” Birdy said as she left.
“So you heard about Cocx being expected to win the PC position?” Mark asked the President, whose terms was going to end on March 14th as well.
“Yea. But I am not worried about him much. I doubt that he will get any of his agenda done with a EU Council that is cautious about keeping everyone together as it is.” The President responded.
“Yea, but the EPA will probably need to get itself together after having Leeson.” The Governor-General responded.
“They are not the only ones. Our party needs to get its crap together as well, because Mouri-Kudo will win the second round and I know it for a fact because Miralles is an idiot. He is the Bridges of Leagio and he will not get more than 40% of the vote, I guarantee it. So we have to get our shit together because in the new House of Councilors, we were the only Party that lost seats. The party has now a bad rap partly thanks to Bridges, so we need to move from that rap and be an actually party of the people’s voice. Because comes 2022, the Social Democrats might leave the Alliance and join with the Progressives. So, when Mouri-Kudo is elected, we need to be the ones to form a coalition with her because, while she has the majority in the Senate for now, she does not have it in the House with 223 seat. She needs an additional 48 seats to get her agenda going and I would rather we, the Free Liberalists, be the ones to give the majority needed in the House with our 140 seats; instead of the Revolutionary Front (which has the Socialists and Greens in it), who would support her agenda in open arms in certain areas.” The President explained.
“Point taken.” Mark responded as they heard the tapping sound of high heels coming closer.
A woman stepped up to them.
“Dr. Akagi, good to see you again. It has been awhile my dear.” The President said stepping up and taking her hand, where he gave it a gentlemanly peck.
“Mr. President…. Mr. Governor-General….It is good to you as well.” The blonde doctor responded, “I assume that you are here to inspect the EVA project to modernize our military.”
“yes, actually.” The President responded.
“What is Project EVA for exactly? Sounds like some sort of project to build giant robots that will destroy all of humanity.” Mark asked.
The President rolled his eyes and thought to himself, “No wonder he lost the Presidential Primary last year. He does not read the confidential files that is sent to him at all.”
“No really, Project EVA is a red herring name to make other nations think that we are building some super weapon should it ever be discovered. The name EVA has really no meaning for what the project is really for. The whole thing is a cover operation to constantly look at new ways to develop and improve the military with new equipment. For example, the new Defender Class submarine that the nation is developing and improving the SU-30 that we are reverse engineering is being done here in secret, not in the Common Security Council Building back in Tullion like everyone would think.” Dr. Akagi explained sounding annoyed.
“And how are those two projects going, if I may ask good doctor?” President Lifejumper asked.
“Follow me.” Dr. Akagi said as she lead them to another room with a large computer and bunch of diagrams as well as papers that had lots of writing on them. She began typing on the computer and pulled up the SU-30 aircraft on the large monitor for both the President and Governor-General to see.
“We have been making good progress on reverse engineering the blueprints that Prime Minister Bridges gave you. Upon further inspection, the concept of upgrading this Gen 4 plane into a Gen 5 can be done; but it will not be easy, which was something to be expected. In order to make this aircraft work as a Gen 5, there will be a lot to be done on it.” The blonde doctor explained as she reached for a pack of cigarettes and placed one in her lips, then light it.
“Like what?” The Governor-General asked curiously.
“Well , we would still need the technology that we are working on to make it stealthy but that might compensated with a high percentage of the frame being made out of composite materials which would reduce radar cross sectioning and weight. Then we would have to enable some Date Fusion within the plane for it to have better situational awareness on the field of war. We are working on fixing that by working with some of the Leagioan computer companies that have worked on such a thing like that before. Then once we get all the kinks that make this thing a bitch resolved, then we need to find a way to enable it to hold munitions inside it through internal bay, so that the payload that the plane carries does not result in it getting spotted. But the things that I have covered are just only a list of problems that we have with the idea. By the way, whose damn idea was it to make this thing from Gen 4 to Gen 5?” The Blonde doctor asked sounding even more annoyed as she took a puff out of her joint.
“Robotnik.” Mark answered.
“Of course, that idiot would suggest such a thing. In honestly, sir, it is possible to make this a Gen 5 from a 4; but it will be extremely difficult. The Center would need a year or two before that could even happen and it would cost millions of taxpayer Sulia’s before it is done. But it can be done. What I can guarantee is that it will be easier to make a 4.5 Gen plan out of this in 6 to 8 months, if that is an option for the Air Force.” The Doctor answered.
“I will talk to the General Staff about that when I return to Tullion tomorrow.” The President said with a nod, “Now, what about the Defender class submarine?”
The Doctor nodded as she began to type on the computer again until the blue prints of said submarine appeared.
“Luckily, we have not had as much problems on this thing like we are having on the SU-30. The Submarine design should be completed by July of this year. We are just right now trying to find ways to extend the submerge range of the sub from its 630 miles underwater at 5 knots to somewhere near 720 at the same speed. In addition, we have managed to make the submarine work with a new type of propulsion system that has been on the works for many years, which is the AIP or Air-Independent propulsion.” The Doctor explained.
“What is that exactly?’ Mark asked.
“A propulsion system that allows non-nuclear subs such as this to operate without atmospheric oxygen by surfacing or using a snorkel. It can possibly replace the diesel-electric propulsion system of non-nuclear vessels entirely, if it works.” The President explained.
“Correct, but we have decided as a matter of precaution and ability to work well to keep the diesel-electric system with the AIP inside it. The electric system of the submarine works without the need of batteries, instead it uses fuel-cells which is part of the AIP system and should help with the underwater range. In addition, we have upgraded our sonar system on it work well below strong thermal layer depths, which is something not found in Leagioan shallow waters except in the winter.” The Doctor explained.
“That is good….I will say that I will miss these chats we have Doctor…I will miss being able to come here and hear you talk smart.” The President flirted which resulted in the Doctor blushing.
“If you two are going to just flirt, I will head back to the motorcade and wait on you.” Mark said as he left the room.
“Finally.” Kenith said as the soon to be Former Governor-General left the room, “Doctor, when I am gone, what do you intend to do? Continue working in this lab?”
“Most likely yes, sir.” The Doctor said as she let out another puff, “Why you ask?”
“Well, next week, I will be meeting with Mouri-Kudo again before she has the debate with Miralles and I will be discussing with her the formation of a coalition government with her (once she wins the race) and one of the people that I was thinking of suggesting to her for the coalition government was you as her Minister of Research and Science. What do you think?” The President said as he puts a hand on her shoulder.
“I will think on it and let you know this Saturday at your office in Tullion. How about that, Mr. President?” The Doctor answered with a smirk.
“Sounds like a date. Have a nice day, Dr. Akagi.” President Lifejumper said as he left her office.

January 15th, 2022“Madam President, Welcome.” One of the Head Scientists of the research center said as President Mouri-Kudo entered the center through the secret entrance.
“Thank you. Is Dr slash Minister Akagi here today?” Mouri-Kudo asked curiously.
“Yes, Madam President. She is in her office at the moment. She is just reviewing new data for the LF-1A Gen 5 plan.” The scientist explained pointing the way to Minister of Science and Research Ritsuko Akagi’s office in the research center, which is far from the capital of the Commonwealth and away from the official public office of the Ministry of Science and Research.
“I guess then I will disturb her then.” Mouri-Kudo said as she began to walk towards said Doctor’s office.
Office is a understatement of the work area of the Minister of Science and Research as it was more or less a large laboratory and test area of all the Commonwealth’s new weapons, gadgets, and devices that were either tested, discarded, or being developed. As the President of the Commonwealth entered, she heard the sounds of various things within the room being made. The sounds ranged from the works of welding to even malfunction of a gun. The Secret Service agents beside her suggested that she wait until the Minister is done with her work for the sake of her very own safety from the things being tested. However, Mouri-Kudo waved it off. She had been through much throughout her life, especially as president when one considers how her inauguration went.
“Madam President, I am surprised to see you’re here.” Minister of Science and Research Ritsuko Akagi said after examining a new type of Rocket Launcher for the Army.
“Minister Akagi. Good to see you here. I was just checking to hear about the progress on the latest projects.” Mouri-Kudo said as she and Akagi sat by a workbench in the area.
“So far, work on the Defender Class has been going smoothly and we should expect to see the first line of the class being produced in March once we finish running additional tests and after the naval exercises that you plan to have with the Spanish Navy. The Submarine will have a much more longer range than the old Revolution Class and can handle much more deeper depths than said predecessor. It has a AIP that manage to squeezing into the Engine Room Compartment. So the use of fuel will not be a serious concern for the Navy in the use of this submarine, especially with the Fuel Cell system. However, we did not achieve our goal of 720 miles underwater at 5 Knots, but 705 miles at said speed.” Akagi explained.
“Well, it is still an improvement. Maybe once we start have more of the Defenders out then we will can be able to have their range extended.” Mori-Kudo said.
“Of course, Madam President.” Akagi said looking over a sheet of data, “Progress on stealth technology is still a way to go for the armed forces. We had some success in developing a prototype that somewhat works but needs more tweaking to be done before we say that we are on the right path. It should take us another year at most for progress to be completely finished. Problem is that we are developing our own from scratch, if say we had one that was imported and we can based our own technology on, then the process will be much smoother. However, with time, we should be at the point of building our stealth tech for planes especially.”
“I see. I cannot promise that you will be able to get a imported variant but I will see if I can try with some of the European Nations nearby.” Morui-Kudo explained.
Akagi nodded understandingly.
“Will you still be meeting with Dietmember Moriarty on negotiating the funding of a Leagioan Merchant Marine Fleet?” Akagi asked curiously.
“Yes, even though the Economy is doing much better than at the start of my term, unemployment still needs to be resolved. Constructing a merchant marine fleet that sails through Europe might be the way to go for that and it would help to improve trade in-general for Leagio. The country is having a leftward shift and in order to get anything done of my program then I will need to compromise on a few of my positions.” Mouri-Kudo said dreadfully.
