Operation Rule Britannia

GCHQ "Doughnut"
Apr 16 2021
0600 hours Local TimeThe fighting is still going and the troops on the frontlines are on heavy fire. Airstrikes had already been conducted to get rid of the camps. Prisoners of war had been brought to the nearest camps where they are provided with food and shelter. Simon had to communicate with the Vardics in order to make sure that the operations would be smoothly cooperated and no frenzy would happen.
"Sir, the Vardics are connected." an aide reminded
The council talked to the Vardics on details how the operations will push forward. So far, the details were clear, the resources shall not be touched and Reitzmag may only occupy until 200 miles from the border of Vayinaod. They informed the readiness of the Vardic Armed Force to provide aid through air strikes. This is already the go-signal, but one more thing is missing.
"The question is what do we do with Istkalen after the occupation?" asked the State Border Minister
"We could either make a transition authority ourselves, or hand it over to the EU to decide." suggested the Foreign Minister
"No no, we are not handling this on our own. If we want to show Europe that we are a country that promotes peace and is dependable, we should be the example for our neighbors." said the Deputy Prime Minister.
"Ok, what about we occupy the area and make a transition authority together with other countries like Vayinaod, Angleter, and Inquista so that we could improve our foreign relations and reputation while avoiding the EU getting involved with this." said Simon.
"I agree, we can't trust the EU at this moment. Countries that aren't concerned with the situation will likely just meddle with our decisions and stop us from exercising our sovereign rights." said the Intelligence and Tactics Minister.
The council decided to keep the decision until the next few days so that the EU will not try to stop Reitzmag from making things right again. They knew Juncker was not a good commissioner, but the current commission is much worse.

Mt. Britannia Armed Settlement
Apr 17 2021
0740 hours Local TimeArtillery started rolling up to the mountains, although in quite a low pace. But the highly develop roads helped make the process faster even by a bit. Tanks moved onto other areas near the border to easily move into Istkalen once the defectors were cleared. At that time, Gen. Renwalt was planning the counter-attack.
"The plan is simple, clear out all defectors from the borders and stop more defectors from crossing while units move to RAF Tamford and RAF Ludwig, reinforcements will come to Mt. Britannia before we begin phase 2. Phase 2 is what you can see on the map, once everything is ready, we will push them back into Istkalen and stop more from coming. That means, we will occupy each and every town and leave soldiers to guard those areas. Checkpoints would be constructed as we push to the North." Gen. Renwalt explained.
"Paratroopers would be dropped on Points A, B, and C before we send equipment. The same will happen on Points D, E, and F but they would be done by the next day. Once the first three paratroop operations have been done on each point, equipment will be airlifted to the same drop points. Some of our equipment will be sent through the land border and travel by land. Camps would be set up on the drop points before we begin Phase 3." he continued.
"Sir, how can we make sure that our soldiers won't be shot again like before when they landed in the Union of Syndicates?" a lieutenant asked.
"That wouldn't happen anymore, fighters would clear out the areas before we begin the drop. We would send out some pre-drop operatives before we send out the main teams. They will secure the area and construct the temporary facilities before the camps will be made. Anyway, on Phase 3 we'll send our troops down the mountain and make the first charge. Troops from the drop points, RAF Tamford, and RAF Ludwig would be mobilized together with equipment to begin occupying the south. This would most likely last until next week before we fully occupy the south, including the mountains. During this time, Unit C from Point B would meet with Unit A from Point A at the first rendezvous and set up camp there. Once all of these are accomplished, we'll begin Phase 4 which would be released by next week from HQ. Are my orders clear?" said Gen. Renwalt
"Yes Sir!"
"Alright gentlemen, see you again tomorrow." he replied
The officers left the make-shift garrison headquarters. Meanwhile an aide came to report that some of the equipment had began to arrive at the place. Peter had one thing in mind, and that is whether or not to use ICBMs. However, Simon told him to not use ICBMs unless it is necessary. So he thought, maybe the ICBMs would be useful for sending EMP Warheads to shut down the electricity and communications system of the major cities and military hotspots. The problem, is Simon may disagree with him considering that he's being very careful on handling the situation to make sure that the response is proportional.

Apr 17 2021
1200 hours Local Time"Sir, it seems that they are retreating." an aide reported
"Well, that doesn't mean they give up their insanity. They will likely charge to other areas of the border with lower concentration of troops. We need to set up more outposts and increase troop presence along all fronts of the border. We need the engineering corps as soon as possible to construct temporary garrisons on the east and west parts of the mountain. RAF Tamford and RAF Ludwig are not enough to safeguard the borders even if the three main bases flank everything." Gen. Renwalt replied
"Yes Sir! I'll tell this to Lieutenant Westinghouse." the aide said.
The aide went to Lieutenant Westinghouse to deliver the orders. After which, a communique was sent to HQ to send the necessary reinforcements for the operation to be done as soon as possible. Meanwhile, engineering vehicles and troops already on the area have been deployed to begin the construction of outposts and temporary garrisons on the eastern and western flanks.

RAF Tamford
Apr 17 2021
1500 hours Local TimeHelicopters arrive one by one, airlifters landed almost consecutively at the runway. There was no time to spare, the mission had to be done for the country. Thousands of troops had settled onto the temporary expansion camp attached to the air base. Tanks, Artillery, and Rocket launchers, slowly park onto an area where it would be easy to access them in case of a surprise attack. Anti-air defense systems, including the country's own version of the Fremetian Iron Dome were placed into position to prevent an attack drone swarm and shoot down reconnaissance drones. AWACS fly for hours to monitor the air and look for enemy aircraft together with the country's best fighter jets. Phase 2 of Operation Rule Britannia is starting soon, there's no turning back. RAF Ludwig had already finished it's job for Phase 1.
Outposts have slowly been constructed along the border, and fighter jets fly above like vultures watching for prey. Everything is almost ready. The last thing was to wait for the next day.
Hampton City
Apr 17 2021
1600 hours Local TimeAnti-missile defense systems roll into the city's outskirts creating a shield against enemy attacks. Fighter jets patrol all over the skies as people continue their daily routines. The city is secured, police and military personnel deployed around. The same thing was for other cities close to the mountains and the north border. Everything feels safe and secure, there's no fear that something bad will happen.

RAF Tamford
Apr 18 2021
0700 hours Local TimeIt was time, troops ready themselves as they wake up early for the mission. The planes had already been prepared ahead, paratroopers load themselves onto each transport aircraft. Meanwhile, some helicopters escorted with fighter jets lead the operation with bombing onto the drop points. Engineering Corps and Infantry personnel had been dropped prior to the main operations to secure the area. 2 of the drop points had a makeshift airstrip for the planes to land with the equipment. Fighter jets roam around each drop point to secure the areas. Everything was being done nice and smoothly for both RAF Tamford and RAF Ludwig.
0900 hours Local Time
The time to start dropping had arrived. Transport aircraft loaded with paratroopers take to the skies for the main mission. Less than an hour later, the go-signal was up. The doors were opened and the parachutes ready. At the count of three, they dropped synchronously.
One by one, the troops landed on a clear field. Camps being set up, while the surrounding area is secured. Phase 2 was almost done. More transport aircraft came to drop supplies and more troops. Less than a thousand men had been dropped within the next 4 hours, it is likely that the equipment will begin to move in by the afternoon. Fighter jets, drones, and AWACS keep patrol over the camps before throwing bombs at nearby areas where armed militias were present. Some had been captured and fed in a makeshift facility in the camp. Those captured were to be brought to the main camp as prisoners of war.

West Flank Border
Apr 18 2021
1200 hours Local TimeEquipment started to roll, each tank and artillery piece slowly crossing the border as more troops and other equipment are airlifted to drop points. As they cross, some armed militias open fire to try and stop the equipment from entering. But nothing can stop them, the resistances continue to push the remaining invaders back north. Some captured were brought to the camp using trucks and some helicopters. Each unit of the Tamford Ground Team will arrive in 3 hours, just in time for the first half of Phase 2 to be completed. As each unit arrives, they set up camp and occupy each town along the way. The flag of Reitzmag raised at each base signifying the first victory. Reitzmic forces successfully occupied the southwest portion of Istkalen and freed the people from the insane government.

East Flank Border
Apr 19 2021
0200 hours Local TimeIt is still early, but some troops at RAF Ludwig had already began to prepare the equipment for the mission. RAF Ludwig had a different situation from RAF Tamford, the area is farther from the border, and the flatlands is only a small corridor between the mountains and the rivers. But the mission must happen for the better of Reitzmag. Since the flight would take quite longer, the team decided to take off at 0500 hours. The pre-op units, which would come with helicopters, are to proceed by 0400 hours. The plan was adjusted a bit, but it was necessary to surprise the enemy.
GCHQ "Doughnut"
Apr 19 2021
0330 hours Local TimeThe War-time Government thought that it would be safe to resume parliamentary procedures in Hampton City as the Reitzmic Armed Forces had already pushed the Istkalenians back. Meanwhile, Simon received news that the Istkalenian government will hold elections along with a new leader. This was new, and this might be a chance to end the war. He had to test whether this new leader is not like the former insane one. He thought, that it would be better if he send an Ultimatum to Istkalen. Reitzmag isn't a country that should be feared, for it is friendly to those friendly to it. But Istkalen, tested the waters and tried to wake a sleeping giant. If Istkalen didn't cross the border and open fire at the guards, no one would have been killed, and no war would have happened. And so to show that this was true, and Reitzmag only is seeking revenge for the death of its troops to end the insanity of the Istkalenian Government, an ultimatum was sent to Līresz:
HM Government of the Kingdom of Reitzmag Cabinet at War --- To: The Government of Istkalen Subject: Ultimatum to End Armed Conflict Greetings, The Government of the Kingdom of Reitzmag had decided that a peaceful end to the conflict would be a better option for the greater good of our people. Our goals for the occupation of the Southwestern part of Istkalen are clearly in response to your actions that resulted in the deaths of many from our troops. Istkalenian armed militias have continued fighting at our borders and keep trying to push our Armed Forces to occupy Reitzmag. They have managed to occupy only a single minor town for a day, before it was eventually liberated. Therefore, in exchange of our troops seceding from your soil in peace and prisoners of war being released back, we give the following demands: - The Southwestern-most tip of Elbing-Truso with an area of approximately 150 sq km shall be annexed by the Kingdom of Reitzmag - The size of your Armed Force shall be reduced to only 130000 ground force personnel, 20000 air force personnel, and 4000 naval force personnel - Reitzmic Citizens shall have visa-free access to Istkalen, the Reitzmic government shall not be required to give visa-free access to Istkalenians. Should the following demands be accepted, our leaders may meet at the border in Mt. Britannia to sign a treaty. If not, then our soldiers will remain at the areas we occupied (i.e. Elbing/Truso). We will wait for a response until the next week, for now we declare an armistice with you until a response would be received. Sir Simon Bridges KCMG Prime Minister Joseph Westbrown Peace Envoy to Istkalen
A messenger then delivered the message to Istkalen's Government via it's nearest diplomatic mission. To prevent the Istkalenian Government from doubting and letting them surrender, Simon ordered that the operations stop for the moment until a response would be received.
RAF Ludwig
Apr 19 2021
0400 hours Local TimeThe helicopters are about to take off for the first pre-op drops. However, the orders came that the operations would be put on hold until further notice. Troops went back to their quarters, some keep on training at make-shift shooting ranges and gyms. Tamford Force was also stopped from expanding its occupied territories. Mt. Britannia Frontline HQ also stopped operations for a moment after the orders came. Everything was peaceful for at least some time.

East Flank Border
Apr 19 2021
0430 hours Local TimeA response had already been received, GCHQ ordered to continue with the operations. The ultimatum was denied, and their counter-offer was too less than what Reitzmag deserved for the damages Istkalenian forces made. Troops returned to their posts, helicopters started their engines again and went off to continue what was planned.
Pre-op Paratroopers were released to the eastern drop points. Each paratrooper prepares the drop points and starts building the camps. An hour later, the main operatives come and drop from Skydancer Transport Planes.
The teams set up camp as they arrive, while more troops are dropped. After the troops have finished being dropped, equipment began to arrive as they are airlifted to the camps. Meanwhile, ground operatives travel from the border pitstop. Bridge laying equipment set up bridges for the tanks and artillery to cross the river easily. Phase 2 will likely be finished within the day.
West Front Camps
Apr 19 2021
0600 hours Local TimeThe mission is still not finished, but for the meantime, the soldiers have received an additional order. C-WB, C-WA, and Drop Point B units were ordered to march to the West until the Border of Belarum to clear out everything. A few armed militias also tried to stop the teams, but everything was still done smoothly without casualties. The entire area of Elbing/Truso is now withing Reitzmic occupation. Once the entire mission is cleared, the final push to the capital will be the only thing left to do.

East Front Camps
Apr 19 2021
0930 hours Local TimeThe Eastern Front Camps had been set up, supplies still being dropped, equipment still on their way to the camps. Most of the southern part of Istkalen had been in Reitzmic control. Phase 2 is nearly complete, and Phase 3 is about to begin. The process was quite easy due to a very small resistance. However, HQ had calculated that taking over the other parts of the country would be difficult as resistance starts to be more concentrated as the troops approach the capital. So thus, it had been decided that the soldiers will defend their ground for the moment until the final strategy had been decided, and until the correct time comes.

Mt. Britannia Armed Settlement
Apr 20 2021
0700 hours Local TimeThe operation was ahead of time, it was easy to conquer the entire South Istkalen. Unlike what was planned, the operation lasted less than 6 days. But despite the early completion of the operation, the final charge had to be done. From Mt. Britannia, soldiers formed groups of hundreds with some marching down and some going through other parts of the South Ural. It took hours, but the phase 3 was completed. Reitzmag now has control over the South Ural and the entire South Istkalen.
Gen. Renwalt himself led the charge to other parts of the Ural Mountains where new camps had been set up. Artillery had been positioned precisely to areas with a better view of downhill. Towed howitzers placed overlooking some of the major cities of Istkalen. Once there, they're prepared for the first bombardment that would happen by the next week. And Reitzmag will start marching further North and occupying Istkalen while overthrowing the insane government.
East Front Camps
Apr 20 2021
0930 hours Local TimeC-EC, C-EF, and C-ED had just been given orders to send out some groups to set up camp across the river to serve as the main frontline camp. Meanwhile C-EG and C-EI sent out teams to patrol and expand the occupied areas to the east, thus completely occupying South Istkalen. The mission is a success. Although not all members of the Armed Force are deployed in Istkalen, the Royal Marines had been left in Copala City and some more units in other areas. The war is almost over.

South Istkalen
Apr 21 2021
0350 hours Local TimeIt was a great morning, soldiers woke up early for their regular exercise after an entire day of relaxing. They were allowed to play football and other games at the camps while the orders have not been dropped. However, there had been news that the Istkalenians will destroy the bridges. This news was quite concerning, so HQ ordered that bridge laying equipment from all camps prepare to mobilize when the orders drop.
Meanwhile more troops arrive at each camp, now more tens of thousands of troops have been deployed in Istkalen thereby outnumbering the enemy. Along with the air force, the entire areas are secured. Drones also scan all the areas for any suspicious activity, and satellites focus themselves on possible enemy hotspots to try and detect possible surprise attacks ahead.
As each new soldier marches in, commanders of every camp ask them all to fall into formation in front of the flags they set up at each camp. Reitzmic flags are then carried to the base and tied to ropes. Radios and loudspeakers play the Reitzmic national anthem loudly as the soldiers salute while the flags are raised.
Land of hope and glory
Mother of the free
How shall we extol thee
Who are born of theeWider still and wider
Shall thy bounds be set
God who made thee mighty
Make thee mightier
God who made thee mighty
Make thee mightier yet...The soldiers sang, then shouting "God Save the King!" loudly and joyfully afterwards. Their morale increases and their eagerness to fight for king and country, and for their fellow troops who died along the way.
After the flag raising ceremonies, each camp fires their howitzers three times to celebrate their victories. Each troop then goes back to their quarters, while some start their duty in patrol outside the camps.
The commanders then deliver a message stating that the orders may be dropped within the day, in addition they have also been ordered to prepare anti-chemical warfare equipment for they know that the Istkalenians are notorious for using chemical and biological weapons even if they are prohibited in the union. More personnel had also been ordered to patrol outside the camps, teams also set off to patrol on other areas. Each camp then also set up loud speakers playing Reitzmic patriotic songs.

East Front Camps
Apr 21 2021
0420 hours Local TimeAs was expected, Istkalenians striked back on the east frontline camps. They killed a few troops, Istkalen is still hostile and does not want to pay for what they have done already. Because of the attack, a counter-offensive was ordered immediately. Air strikes have been conducted by FA.30 NRP strike fighter jets and FA.21NG Super Griffins on areas where the firing came from. Howitzers from the mountains fire downhill to areas where guerilla fighters that attacked the frontline eastern camps likely came from. Drone surveillance catches footage and location of where the guerillas were from therefore calling for airstrikes on those places. Reitzmic camps remain to hold still while suffering only a few casualties and some injured. An order to conduct the retaliation procedure, already planned ahead in case a scenario like this happens had been dropped. Howitzers then face the major cities and open fire until their first set of shells are done. Reitzmic troops march into the cities and capture them while raising the Reitzmic flag as a sign of occupation. They then set camps and secure every single building to avoid another massacre due to urban fighting conditions. Reitzmic troops had already been trained in countering guerilla warfare tactics, desert warfare, as well as urban warfare. All of what they have been trained for is now put to the test.
Tanks then roll into the action to make use of the cities as strongholds, building walls around them, and constructing outposts. Airports captured have been used as air fields for use by supplies being airlifted into the scenes. Those who have been captured are then taken into custody and given basic care as they are detained in the primary stronghold cities. Howitzers remain in position at the mountains and secured further to prevent the guerillas from taking control of them.
But despite this, the commanders still do not understand why HQ would not order the use of EMPs and missiles. Gen. Renwalt himself reminded them that the equipment is enough to counter their offensives and the use of missiles is not yet necessary.
Instead of pushing back the Reitzmic soldiers, the Istkalenians made a mistake resulting in more areas occupied. West front camps and other settlements have also been ordered to prepare for more possible attacks.
