      Frenemies: United Duchies-Fremet Summit

      23 May 2021

Anita Poehler, the republic's AA Secretariat, had just arrived back in Fremet from two separate summits held in Mennrimiak when she was looking over the plans made to receive the foreign minister from the United Duchies. Fremet's relationship with the distant country was... well... distant. Regardless, the Solberg-Whoopi administration was pushing hard for expanding Fremet's international footprint, and this was yet another piece of that multi-level-hundred-thousand-piece-geopolitical-puzzle.

She looked forward to the meeting, even if only a tertiary agreement is reached (due to the distant relations between the two countries, only a skeleton agreement could be reached in the initial discussions for a summit). Anything to get your foot in the door.

Fremet had always been wary of entering into any sort of arrangement with the memberstates in and around the Red Sea— they are all their own, special brand of crazy— though frankly the same can be said for the whole of the continent at the moment.

She stood amongst the honour guard at the designated area at TMI where the representative from the duchies was due to arrive.
