The Tech Meeting
-
A middle-aged woman touched down at Porterdam airport. She was in her 50’s now her name was Nanao Ayazuka, she was dressed in a pastal pink dress with a large luggage bag of clothes and cleaning products. She made her way down from the terminal and was greeted by a familiar face. Her son Shinji Ayazuka, her oldest son at the age of 27 attending graduate school and earning his MBA at a prestigious university in Porterdam. She hugged her son “Ah Shinji. Good to see you” Shinji replied “You too mum, how is everything? How’s dad?”
“Your father is as busy as always with those civil engineering contracts and financial reports he has going on. As for me. I’m here to see you and also on business. I’m expected at Ogo in a few days.”
“Busy as always I see.”
“Of course, dear, and what about you, found a nice young lady yet?”
Shinji sighed “Oh come on mum this again?”
“Well, I’m sorry dear I’m curious. I mean you don’t call for weeks on end and I’m left in the dark, would it kill you to send an email at least?”
“Look mum with studies and my data analytics job I’m kind of busy.”
“Oh, too busy for your own mother I see”
“Come on”
She laughed “Relax darling. I’m not here to lecture you.”
Shinji replied with dry sarcasm “For once.”
“Very droll dear. Its snide remarks like that which prevent you from getting a girl freind you know.”
“Hah, as it happens, I am seeing this girl at uni, she is an accounting major and its getting kind of serious.”
Nanao raised her eyebrow with interest “Oh, what's her name? A Yosainese girl or a local perhaps?”
“She’s a local girl her name is Emily Gaugh, I think she works for Ogo in their accounting division, she only just started there a few weeks ago”
She laughed “Well this is a happy coincidence I have business with them. They want to meet with me tomorrow for a possible project that requies Seiku’s expertise.”
“Oh, okay then”
Both of them chatted further as she went to the hotel where she was staying. She will visit her son and his girlfriend later. For now she was focused on the meeting at hand with Ogo, she spent many nights on the phone with the home office in Yosai and looking at several financial spreadsheets on her Seiku laptop. The next day She was dressed in her usual smart casual attire and made her way to Ogo business campus at the reception. She was 10 minutes early. She went up to the reception and spoke in English with a noticeably Yosainese accent.
“Good morning miss. Sorry to interrupt, I have an appointment with Mr Rubin and Ms Ophir at in 10 minutes the name is Nanao Ayazuka from Seiku Information Systems. The appointment was booked 2 weeks ago.”
-
The front desk employee was on orders to look out for their Yosainese guest and bow appropiately upon here arrival. They wanted to treat their guest well this meeting was vital for their gaming business and expanding their mobile platforms. The campus was unlike any other with slides, toys, ping pong tables and break out rooms, they may have worked hard but they encouraged play and creativity too The receptionist said "Welcome of course they will be down in 5 minutes do you fancy a coffee or tea we have all types including green ones." The 5 minutes went and then Set Rubin and Asha Ophir came down and done a traditional Yosainese bow as well as a more casual greeting . They said "Welcome , how was your journey ,its been good working on our gaming project. Pretty soon we should be ready to announce for 2022 launch and preorders , shall we head upstairs." -
Nanao Ayazuka went in to greet her hosts with a handshake but we surprised with a bow as she laughed at the mixed communication. She spoke with a soft and almost maternal voice. "Good afternoon, yes please lead the way. I look forward to hearing what you have in store. When I got your emails and plans for a gaming project I was all ears. Maybe now my son won't think I am so boring." She said with a dry sense of humor as she smiled
-
Asha laughed saying "Just tell him ASHA thinks you are cool. He can just ask me lol" referring the smart assistant named after her. She led Nanao Ayazuka to the meeting room to meet the project leads. She introduced the project leads who started the brief. They said "What we are proposing as you know is a games system based off Jelly OS our mobile operating system. We believe this will enable us to deliver a quality console experience with a built in system of games with low memory usage. Since it will be focused on mobile games that are already on peoples existing accounts it will aid affordability also. We can code and provide the OS tweaking it to the console and sort out the integration of accounts however what we need is for you to make the console since we don't make hardware typically and use partners.
What we want from hardware is simple, we want 8 Gig of Ram with 128 Gig and 256 Gig storage options for sale. We'd like good quality graphics card but it doesn't need to be very top end, affordability is the key here. We need to hit a price point of €199 and €249 or €299 or for the bigger console though we'd like to keep this cost as low as possible. This is not planned to be a primary console but it must have the capability to be smart and be used as a media box also the remote should reflect this and we want a gaming control thats easy to use for all and ergonomic. We'd like to hear your ideas on how to achieve this, we've been told you have some picture proposals for us."
-
Nanao Smiled "So basically what you want is a basically you want Seiku to make a console based on the mobile Jelly OS, we can do that, but to make it more accessible we also can do this in the form of a handheld gaming system. Low memory games such as puzzle games low memory real time strategy games, platforming games and some action games based and other games of that nature correct?"
Nanao Ayazuka smiled and and took a sip of water "We can do this, manufacturing this system isn't difficult What we want to know what the arrangements will be on the side of the revenue that we get from the total sales. But I'm guessing that's later down the line."
-
ASHA replied "Basically yes we want a relatively premium quality but also budget console so that's why we came to you. You have the capabilities and manufacturing capacity to make it happen we would probably look at around 50-60% of sales price going to your company with perhaps a 10% of sales price of games going to you. Does that sound fair to you?"
