Terrorist Attack in Eastern Hugoslavia: 2 weeks on

HUGOSLAVIA: A terrorist group coordinated a series of suicide bomb attacks in Hugoslavia, three of which tore through three trains on the Hugoslavian Underground, killing around 50 people with the casualties being around 70. This included an attempted hijacked plane that was set to hit the Bank of Brickston, which luckily evaded due to the Briekish Air Force maneuvering the plane indirectly. The identified suspects are a group of 15 people, 13 of which have been imprisoned. The suspects' ages range from 15 to 45, with most suspects having links to extremist ideologies. -

Doh Tin Mah City undergoes canal extension project

The Stadtbeeren Canal was built in 1925 in Doh Tin Mah City with a dock located at the end of the canal. It was a trade-oriented canal. But over the years, as mass trade on ships started gaining popularity, the dock started receiving fewer boats. The city government made a decision to close it down.But the locals demanded for the canal to remain open as water transit was one of the primary modes of transit in the city. Therefore, it has remained open.
Now, the mayoral government has decided to extend the canal to newer suburbs of the city which are rapidly growing. This project is set to be finished by 2035.

Czech & Spanish now taught in schools as first languages

In a bid to increase the internationalism of the country's education, Czech and Spanish have been approved to be taught in schools as a first language by the Ministry of Education. This comes as Brickston has many communities, including many Czech and Spanish communities. People of Czech origin make up one of the biggest minority ethnic groups in Brickston.

The Stock Market, once quite boring to look at and would only make a few quid for the common man, is now exponentially growing. The Reyali Corporation & The Walksweagan Group are 6 times and 8 times higher than they were a few weeks earlier respectively. Household incomes, which are conveniently reviewed every 2 months, have been found to have increased by 15%.
This has impact on all other assets too, such as houses. The value of houses is increasing, but not exponentially, although it is projected to.
This sudden economic growth has resulted in people aggressively buying and selling assets in order to make use of the growth. However, the Minister of Finance says it is important to be vigilant. "We might be looking at an economic bubble, which we wouldn't exactly be ready to deal with. While it is important to be vigilant, we must also make use of this to a limit."

Talks between Government and Walksweagan Company over Ripple Sustainable Development Plan

The Ripple Sustainable Development Plan, which aims to achieve a carbon-neutral status and a sustainable economy, is sparking concerns within the high ranks of the largest automobile group in Brickston. The Walksweagan Group is the second-largest company on the mainland after the Nestlé Co. and the largest employer. The company hires more than 700,000 people and is worth more than 150 billion euros.
The concerns are about the systematic prohibition of petrol and diesel vehicles through the implementation of the plan, thoroughly mandating the use of electric vehicles across the mainland and the islands. 89% of vehicles produced by the company are fuel-dependent, although that figure is steadily decreasing. The Walksweagan Group, either way, has urged the government of Brickston to ease automobile laws in the development plan.
The Walksweagan Group has also always had a monopoly over the automobile sector. However, it entered the electric vehicle market much later. The Marcar Automobile Company had already dominated the electric car market. This is another reason why the Walksweagan Chairman met the Government of Brickston for negotiation.

Public Transport System to reach cover 100% of rural areas by 2050

With the Department of Public Transportation getting a budget share of 6% in government expenditures today, their projects and promises exceed their obligations. With metropolitan cities, their surrounding towns and big towns having a wide variety of access to public transport, the focus now shifts to small villages. With the national railways having been connected to every town with a population of above 100,000 since 1986, the new plan focuses on local buses, trams and metros if needed. The below map illustrates areas with access to more than 1 mode of public transport within a 3 km radius.
The promise delivered by the Department of Public Transportation is that this entire map will be green by 2050, excluding areas of protected nature.

This year, there have been 26 more companies that have been listed on the Briekish stock exchange, with 3 expecting to go public by the end of this month. Capital investment is also at an all-time high.
"We must enjoy this growth but must remain vigilant and sensible in economic policy. If this turns out to be an economic bubble, our economy will not be able to sustain itself," said economist Kuehne.

Brickston-Czech Slavia Summit ends in agreement

Arguably Brickston's closest ally, Czech Slavia, had a diplomatic meeting and summit from Wednesday to Friday. The two leaders of the nations - President Albína Reiserová from Czech Slavia and President Okonkwo Cyryl Lavoie - along with other dignitaries from the two countries met at Portovo, after which they visited several cities in Southern Brickston where Czebrik populace and presence was dominant. The summit finally ended in Portovo, with the agreement signed on Friday.
Czech Slavia is a crucial country for Brickston in the European Union for cultural, economic and political reasons. The agreement eased trade restrictions between the two countries, allowed Briekish investment into Czech Slavia and established mutual security. In addition, Czech Slavia is to invest in cultural projects in Southern Brickston.

Import volume nearly halved over the last year; exports see increase of 13%

The analysis of the four fiscal quarters of the year has found that imports of foreign goods have fallen significantly by nearly 50%. According to economists, this has been caused by greater domestic production, reducing dependence on foreign goods. This dependency is seen in specific sectors, primarily raw materials and fabrics. That dependency has now shrunk, with the expansion of domestic MNCs such as Reyali, Walksweagan and Siemens Brickland.
The market boom of this year, particularly in urban areas of Brickston, has resulted in cost efficiency of manufacturing and selling goods, allowing domestic producers to generate adequate revenue.

As wealth concentrated in an equitable way, living standards in cities improved. This is what partly caused the economic booms in the 1990s after foreign investment skyrocketed due to gentrification. This, however, brought housing prices up, making housing unaffordable to many sections of the society. This problem has now almost entirely been absorbed by higher incomes and more space. As rural space is largely left uncultivated, urban regions are expanding and supply is meeting demand.

All individuals are now allowed to speak their word without any restriction or filter, the legislation has ruled. Due to this change, all free speech is now allowed, given that public order is established and hate is not spread towards a certain group of society. Race and religion remain protected; however, nationality and sexual orientation are only partially protected, holding varying regulations. This has turned out to be controversial, as the laws before protected against these two categories as well. These laws do not apply in professional settings, where the old laws remain. Reference to immigrants in a vulgar fashion had also been previously outlawed, which has now been relaxed.
Reference to the leader Maduro is allowed, but any reference to liking towards his ideology remains outlawed. Commercial places can restrict certain people from getting in without giving a reason for it, which has turned out to be the most controversial change of all. However, they cannot charge different people different prices for goods.
Disrespecting and damaging religious texts is solely allowed if it is not done in a public area, a mass gathering or a religious institution and if the religious text belongs to the person damaging it. Propagating religion is allowed; however, forcing conversions or providing compensation as a bribe to change religion is banned.
Referring to race, religion, sexual orientation and disabilities or having prejudice for these reasons is banned strictly in all educational institutions among both pupils and lecturers.
Race can always be referred to; however, it must not be accompanied by racial slurs and/or any verbal aggression.
Pay disparities on gender, race, religion and nationality are outlawed. All genders are to be treated equally. However, beliefs about genders can be propagated to any extent without causing hate among the public.
Several public programmes in educational institutions and metropolitan plazas have been initiated to spread awareness about equality and social institutions have steadily been growing.

Lavoie govt. cuts welfare spending to 14% from 25% announced in April Budget Session

The country's Minister of Finance, Joseph Peretz, presented the annual budget for the session of 2022-2023 in both the National Parliament in Portovo and Supreme Authoritee Councils in Canton Doh. The most stirring information of the budget was found to be the welfare spending, cut to 14% from 25% last year. Additionally, the government has updated the guidelines for citizens to be eligible for welfare schemes, which has reduced eligibility among citizens. Many opposition leaders, spokespersons and activists have raised the issue in various parts of the country. However, the government defended the legislation, stating that incomes have risen proportionally and that employment was much more effective in reducing poverty. They further added that the poverty rate has been extremely low as of recent.
