Office of James Mizrachi-Roscoe , IAC
I am aware of my position as a crowned IAC and will be by July 4th be opening up a diolaogue conference for 4 days with all member states on issues they want addressing.I have as you may have seen already got busy with legislation aimed at increasing safety standards and enhancing trade by harmonising safety standards for vehicles into the European council. I will be bringing forward legislation to standardise European Copyright, European Product Safety standards , legislation establishing a European Payment Processing system and will be working towards potentially estabilishing a single free trade and customs zone that nations can opt in to within the EU structures. My policies are aimed at one thing harmonising standards therefore making trade easy by ensuring if standards are met in one country they can be exported to any country on the same certification. I believe this will make products cheaper and better in the EU ensuring less repeated testing to test against each markets individual standards and inspiring confidence that no matter where the products are made you can feel confident they meet high quality and safety standards. Thank you and I hope my reforms of the EU can benefit all.

Statement on Right to Divorce
I fully support the passage in any form of the right to divorce in the UoDHR. This is a vital right and as such it is my duty as a European to support it and I stand with the right honourable Corinna Larsen. I however support the passage of the additional amendments to protect all Europeans. The right to divorce is no right if countries can use the laws on custody and asset settlements and division at divorce to effectively make using the right impracticle. It would be like guaranteeing the right to life to all but denying life saving medical treatment to minorities, trans or women. Rights are only rights if you can practically use them. -
Council Gridlock
I must state my absolute disappointment in the council gridlock caused by officials not moving acts through on time or on schedule. The people of Europe and governments of Europe voted for a council that works and actually proceeds with legislation. I have limited time in office and want to use this time to benefit the European people by continuing to harmonises standards through acts. This is being obstructed by obstructionists and inefficient council procedures and beaurocracy. I urge the council to vote on legislation in good time and work with my commission to pass acts that benefit the European people through harmonisation of policies on trade, quality standards and safety to ensure cheaper more affordable goods for all in the EU through simplifying of red tape. The commission cannot do its job if the council is not sticking to times set out in the constitution and efficiently moving legislation through the council.
