Reitzmag-Montenbourg Summit
-
Simon had just arrived at the airport to greet the Prime Minister of Montenbourg, a country not new to the EU, who was expected to be arriving in just a few moments. He had some coffee before receiving a message from the ATC of Hampton City IA that the plane is just 15 km away. So, he waited some few minutes before he headed towards the tarmac.
-
Prime Minister arrives with one security guard at the Hampton City Airport ."Prime Minister a pleasure to meet you!" Said Bettel shaking hands with Prime Bridges. "On behalf of His Majesty and his Government we send our best regards to you and your country." Said Bettel while photographers and press started taking pictures of the moment.
Then a member of the press shouted "Prime Minister what is the position of Montenbourg knowing the current situation at the European Court of Justice facing Reitzmag supporting Socialist regimes in Europe?".
The Prime Minister looked at the member asking the question and answered "This is up to our European Court to decide this situation."
The journalist insisted "So Montenbourg is walking in dubious waters knowing the attempts of socialist regimes in countries such as Icholasen and positions that put at risk the Union, Prime Minister?."
The Prime Minister stoped his walk and gave a final answer before entering the motorcade. "We walk with truth, let our position be absolutely clear we believe in Europe, we believe in our commitments and I believe that it must be the policy of the Kingdom of Montenbourg to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures." His faced seemed molested. "An attempt by any outside force to gain control of any nation of our Union will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of The Kingdom of Montenbourg, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary by our Union."
-
As the plane of the Prime Minister of Montenbourg arrives, the stairs are mated to the door of the plane, and a red carpet is prepared in front of it. Redcoat Guards and the Military band line the path of the Prime Minister Bettel. Simon approached Bettel and shook hands with him. As they shook hands, he replied "I am also pleased to see you here Mr. Prime Minister". Then the two walk through the guards and stopped on 2 pedestals. The National Anthem of Montenbourg was played followed by the National Anthem of Reitzmag. The continued towards a car waiting and members of the Reitzmic press approaches the two heads of governments. Then someone asks them "Mr. Prime Minister, what is your stand on the allegations from the solicitor-general of Spain that King George I did something illegal?". Then Simon replied with great calmness:
"That would be truly up to the ECoJ, but I believe that the allegations are not true. If those were to be true, think of what happened last February when there was a communist uprising. Those were supported by the alleged 'UNSR' and would the king even bother to recognize those that tried to destroy his kingdom."
Then they ride the car and bouncers dodged the press trying to get the attention of the two. The motorcade began and brought them to 10 Downing Street where more members of the press are waiting.
Along the way, Simon introduced the country's capital to PM Bettel. They passed by the University of Hampton and many more famous sights in Hampton City.
Then some few moments later, they arrive at 10 Downing Street where a podium waited so that the two could give an address.
Simon went out of the car and walked with PM Bettel to the podium. Then he gave a short address:
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is the most historic moment there would be in the history of the Kingdom of Reitzmag. This summit with the Prime Minister of Montenbourg is an oppportunity for us to open diplomatic relations with them. And I hope that our positive relations would remain together for a long time." then he let's PM Bettel to speak.
-
"(Camera Flashes) Mr. Prime Minister, what a beautiful city and country, we hope to reciprocate some of that warmth today. Even as we remember what makes us unique, Reitzmags and Montenbourgians, we see ourselves in each other. Weβre guided by the same values, including our conviction that the blessings we cherish as free people are not gifts to be taken for granted but are precious freedoms that have to be defended anew by every generation. (Applauses)*
A member of the press asked "What you look forward in this trip"
The Prime Minister answered "So with this visit, I believe that our Kingdoms can do even more together, even more to promote the trade and economic partnerships that provide good jobs and opportunities for our people. Even more to ensure the security that so many Montenbourgians and Reitzmags count on so that they can live in safety and freedom, promoting the liberal principles of our Union. Even more to protect our children, just as we are currently discussing at European Council the End of Child Marriage in our Union and the celebration of Europe Day. (Applause.)"
-
As PM Bettel finishes his address, Simon takes him into 10 Downing Street and to the office of the Prime Minister. Then he shows to him some very expensive paintings aligned all over the place. Then the two sat down and the close-door meeting began.
"So, Mr. Bettel, I am very thankful of your visit here. What would you like to talk about?"
-
"Nice paintings." He seemed very disturbed. "I understand the current situation with our brother nation Spain is causing tensions in the Union, between what really happened with King George, His Majesty the King and his government seemed worried with the situation and our visit to the nation amid the case in the Court. Also the current situation with Icholasen, and of course the future of our economic relations and your opinion on establishing a Free Trade Agreement between our countries, especifically on Automobile, Oil and Gas."
-
"I am glad that you are open for some free trade with us despite the accusations from Spain. We are very open to free trade especially when it comes to our gas, automobile and coal products. And we are very keen when it comes to oil and currently, we get oil from Angleter, the Duxburian Union, or Vayinaod. But with more suppliers comes more opportunities. So I would agree on that."
"And since we're talking about Free Trade, maybe we should have some Free Travel too if you would like, so what do you say?"
-
"I believe what our justices decide on this current accusations."Said the Prime Minister. "Sure, a visa-free agreement valid for 90 days stay sounds good."
-
"Great, I am glad we are coming to some good progress and agreement. Well, I suggest it is time to write up some treaty! Would you like my assistant to write it for us as we continue."
"Moving on, I'd also like to propose if we can have regular joint military exercises as a way to enhance the skills of both our armed forces. We are ready to supply any military equipment to your need, but of course we can't supply too much especially our very highly advanced equipment. Though, we can offer high quality equipment, just not the very hype ones. Would you like that to be added?"
-
"Sounds excellent, let's get started." Then he added. "What an intersting cartographer you have."
-
"I am glad to hear that..." then he gets the agreement's document and reviews what has been made so far and then hands it to PM Bettel.
"Well, I think we have to discuss about the free trade agreement. Especially since the Kingdom of Spain had imposed taxes on the strait of Gibraltar which would raise the prices of goods in most countries like Reitzmag." he added.
-
"On this topic, I clarify that Spain is a friend of our nation, and we respect your differences. Coming back to our Trade Agreement we have some provisions; both of our nations under this agreement and for the value of it will prohibit harmful fisheries subsidies, such as those that contribute to overfishing." Said the PM he continued. "Also any company under this agreement will prohibits child labor and employment discrimination on the basis of sex, race and sexual orientation. Last but not least the goods excluded from these agreements are wood, steel, iron, stainless-steel, aluminum, crude and processed oils; these are our conditions."
-
"Of course, we will have to include respect for the European Constitution and Acquis Communautaire when it comes to these agreements."
