Eleutheria Palace, 14/08/2019

It was the first official visit to a foreign country the Duchess of Athenaesios made since she was appointed Prime Minister of Derecta. She had only led Eleutheria Palace for little over a month, but she was eager to leave the hectic business of Dikaíoma behind, even if it were only for a day.

"I'm glad you could make this happen, Bárbara" the PM told her aide. "Not only does this give me the chance to present myself to the rest of Europe, but it also means I can revisit my heritage and admire how Hispanic culture still has an effect over some of our nations."

Cayetana de Valcárcel-Aranjuez y Pérez de Viñastre was, of course, a direct descendant of one of the wealthy families that established their households in Derecta during its time as a Hispanic colony. Her family adopted the Duchy of Athenaesios during the 19th century, as a result of a dynastic union between the House of Valcárcel-Aranjuez and a Hellenic family of peers.

"Have you received a confirmation from the Deputy and the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence?" the PM asked.

"Yes, Ma'am. They're bound to arrive at DIA in half an hour. The Derectan Silver Eagle is already geared up and ready to take off. I have already called for a helicopter to take you to the airport as soon as possible. Are you ready?" the aide answered.

"Why, thank you, Bárbara. I do not know what I'd do without you! Yes, I am ready. Can't wait to get to Antequera and see what Spain can offer!" said the PM.
