"Just Elthize" - The government considering to withdraw full name

The country is considering dropping the full name "The State of Elthize"

The government is considering an official name change that would see the country referred to simply as "Elthize," dropping its full formal name, "The State of Elthize," in all official and diplomatic contexts.

The term "The State of Elthize" has been in use since the nation's re-establishment under President Theodore Ackerson. However, in practice, most citizens, government officials, and international entities already refer to the country as simply "Elthize," leading the government to push for an update.

Joanne Bird, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the change is "entirely for convenience" and "will not affect 90% of Elthic citizens". Government sources say the change is meant to simplify official language without affecting the country’s identity or government.

The proposal is expected to face little opposition. The Progressive Conservative Party (PCP), the largest opposition party in Parliament, as well as the Moderates, who are in a confidence-and-supply agreement with the government, has opted to let its members vote freely on the matter.

The name change is expected to take place in the coming months, pending approval from Parliament.
