KREXIT BILL AND CONSCRIPTION BILL PASSES THROUGH COMMITTEE LEVEL
Hampton City, May 18 2021 | The House of Representatives' Committees have passed two bills recently and will be debated at the main chamber. The conscription bill had been modified to require 20-25 year old males to perform compulsory military service of at least 3 years with 1 year of training and 1 year of reserve service prior to the main military service. The revised version also gives certain exemptions such as those who are physically and/or mentally incapable, athletes that won at least 2 medals in national and/or international competitions, those serving in the technology industry, those serving in the medical sector, those serving in the education sector, those serving in the national police, those serving in the entertainment and media industry (singers, actors, directors, etc.), those serving in the government, those serving in the parliament, those invoke their right to Conscientious objection, and some more. The bill had gained support from the public with its new form, however there is still strong opposition from the Lib Dems regarding the idea. The Conservatives, who had voiced support for the bill, argued that such policy would help in combating crime across the country and would also boost the country's national defense.
Meanwhile, the Krexit Bill now on its first reading remained to receive huge support from the eurosceptic movements with great opposition from the Lib Dems and most of the Labour Party. The bill, which aims to begin a referendum on the country's departure from the European Union, does not outline joining the proposed Super Union. However, most of the bill's supporters also support the country joining the alternative Super Union and expects Angleter and Mennrimiak to also join.
