Inquista-Duchies Summit
-
John Peter Key had barely been in office but today would be an important day for his government. Just elected the pre-planned Inquista visit would likely lead to a treaty covering trade, science and many other areas. He waited at Cair Para International Airport for the Inquistan Arch Bishop to arrive.

Archbishop Mikaela Kligenberg was excited to visit the United Duchies, as she had never visited the country before. A coastal country in southern Europe? Sounded just right up the Archbishop's alley. While the Archbishop loved to tour around Europe and visit varying countries, she was less enthusiastic about it now that it's soon to become winter. Mikaela was used to the Mediterranean temperatures of Inquista, and anything below that - especially in the winter - is gruesome and torturous by Mikaela's standards. The Archbishop was looking forward to a southern excursion to the United Duchies, and she was hoping to catch some UV rays and a slight tan during her trip.
The Archbishop met with Speaker Edward Firoux shortly before departing Saint Dominico. Firoux had nothing but good things to say about the United Duchies and his counterpart in the European Council, Councillor Tobias Johnson Farage, who had become a close colleague of his. Cllr. Johnson Farage was just recently diagnosed with cancer, and so Mikaela told Firoux to pass on her well-wishes to him. The Archbishop hoped to extend Inquistan-Duchian cooperation from beyond the European Council and into bilateral cooperation between the two respective states.
Mikaela's signature pink jet soon descended upon Cair Para International Airport, and landed safely onto the tarmac below. The Archbishop hurriedly finished the glass of wine she that she was drinking, her second glass of the day, while scouring over Duchian social media. Mikaela spent virtually the entire flight catching up with the latest fashion trends and celebrity gossip of the country. When the Archbishop's jet finally came to a standstill, Mikaela continued to watch a 15-minute long YouTube video exposing the latest drama between Bob Cass and Joe Biggs, who were feuding. Mikaela decided that she would sympathetically support #TeamJoeBiggs.
After some time, the Archbishop departed from her jet and was escorted by a security detail that brought her to meet with Prime Minister John Peter Key. Mikaela waved at the Prime Minister enthusiastically, before approaching him and exchanging a firm handshake.
"Prime Minister Key, it's such a pleasure to meet with you! Congratulations on assembling your coalition," Mikaela remarked, after remembering that she read somewhere that there was a new 'rainbow' coalition in the United Duchies. Mikaela didn't actually read the article, and she had no idea what the term 'rainbow' coalition meant, so she assumed it had something to do with the gays. "I am a firm believer and supporter of gay rights, and so what your new coalition is doing is such a wonderful thing. You know, the Inquistan Times once called me a Gay icon... not to brag or anything. I'm just saying. I support you fully."
-
John Peter Key greeted the Archbishop. He was amused at her misunderstanding of "rainbow coalition" . He chuckled and said "I am glad you support our coalition and it is certainly gay in a happy sense but we mean something slightly different by rainbow coalition. It just means alot of parties! I trust you had a good journey to Cair Para and our weather is to your liking." He shook her hand. They would make their way to High Rock Palace the place the PM resided along with the High Duke and many cabinet offices. They would be talking in the meeting room after a great banquet. They both got into the car. He decided to make conversation in the car "How are things in Inquista right now. We have much appreciated the support of Councillor Firoux and Inquista in the Disability Act."
-
"Yes, Eddie is very vocal about protecting the rights of the vulnerable, and so I'm not surprised to see that he's collaborated on the Disability Act. Things in Inquista are going very well! Just trying to get a few more things passed in the College of Bishops before we have our winter recess for the Christmas season. I have my Christmas address coming up, and now that I'm Archbishop, I also have to give the Christmas sermon - which I'm so super duper excited about! I'm going to turn it into a musical this year. It'll be so great. I love Christmas music!"
The Archbishop cleared her throat and then began to sing softly, horribly off-key. "The angels start their whispering... about the One they're welcoming! No one knows what's soon to be, as the angels start their whispering. They sing glory in the highest, come now, our King!"
Mikaela giggled slighty after her underwhelming performance. "That's just a sneak peek for you. I have so much more in store! Ugh, but truly, Christmas is my favourite holiday! I probably shouldn't admit this, but I've been listening to Christmas music since late October. I love decorating the Christmas tree, seeing all the decorations around the city... just such a good vibe, you know?
How are things going in the Duchies? What are your holiday plans? I'd love to learn more about the holiday traditions of the country!"
