ABout:Strathae is a nation based on clan connection and came about as the Clans of the Gaels united against Catholic foreign invaders in the 1700's . The nation is matriarchal believing women to be better leaders because of their "sensitivity" and "wisdom" and having been born of mother nature while men are seen more as warriors. The nation has a deep connection to nature and animals holding it sacred in their religion Breizhighism as a result it has the most comprehensive environmental protections in the entire world with sale of meat being banned except for pet food purposes with vegetarian foods being the only legal foods with jail sentences for import of meat not explicitly pet food.The nation as a result of its past with foreign religions views them with suspicion and disdain it actively opposes christianity , islam and Judaism at least societally with these being only tolerated if the members of them don't get active or vocal about their beliefs and with all ceremonies except Breizhighist ones banned in public spaces or government owned venues. It is not uncommon for shunning to take place in more conservative villages if one converts to another faith. Another part of Breizhhighist culture is the law every citizen and resident must give 1 days labour for free from the age of 16 either for a charity,good cause or on a government programme.

There are fines, jail sentences if repeated and even deportation if one is an immigrant for saying anything homophobic , sexist or transhobic as all forms of love ar practised in Strathaen society. Citizenship is only given if one has been married to a Strathaen citizen for 25 years consecutively with anyone else given residency which only allows them to live in the big cities without permission needing to be granted by Clan councils. Leagues are also run along clan lines.

The economy is run through a mix of government owned agencies, Clan Cooperatives owned by the Clan councils and returning profits to each member of the clan equally and Cooperatives, very little business is done through private businesses.English has been reluctantly taught as a second language for tourism purposes and business purposes.

Immigration and Residency Visas:
Residency and immigration is complicated in Strathae .The process is very long and arduous , you first must apply in person at a strathaen embassy, then you will be interviewed to see what type of visa you will likely be allowed. Then you must learn the history and values of the country and pass a test on it and sign a pledge "I will be a good citizen of Strathae and respectful of law and order ,democracy and tolerance. I will not be bigoted(including homophobia or transphobia) or misogynistic in anyway and understand this will lead to my removal from the country. I will respect the laws of the country and protect the environment understanding if I fail to do so I can be removed from Strathae. I will not get involved in any political campaigns to restrict others civil rights and will not make statements against issues such as womens rights or gay marriage or the right to trasition." . There are several types of visas but the main ones are the ones below:
Work Residency Visa:You must show evidence of a valid job offer and work in that job. If you lose the job you must reapply with proof you have another valid job offer. You are only allowed to live in local authority the job position is in. Generally you can only live in the 5 non-clan areas without having to seek permission from the local government. If you want to work in a clan area a refedendum of the local streets will be held to decide if you can live that area.

Family Residency Visa:You must be family member or spouse of a person with a valid Work residency visa. The visa is tied to their status and you can only live in the same house as your family unless you gain a work residency visa.Alternatively you can marry a clan member to gain this viisa with it being tied to your marriage status.

Clan Citizenship:Full citizenship with voting rights you must have been married to a clan member for 25 consecutive years to get this citizenship with any divorce ort separation resetting the clock and potentially making you lose your right to live in the country . An alternate way to gain this is to prove you have at least 1 grandparent who was a member of one of the 104 official clans. This is the only visa that entitles you to live in the whole country without restriction.

Citizenship:You get to vote on the non-clan list and live in the 5 non-clan cities. If you want to live anywhere else you need to seek permission off the clan council who will then hold a referendum in the local streets to decide if you can move to the area. To gain this visa you must be married to a citizen for 25 years consecutively

Press and media law
Historically Strathae has been a haven of free press with governments typically maintaining a light touch policy requiring only takedown of content calling for violence or terrorism content. However after the Nationalist Doxing scandal laws changed in Strathae. It is illegal to publish home adresses and personal contact deails of any person including photos took in a private space without expressed permission from the individual or Press Standards Commission.Breaking these laws is punishable by fines and prison if repeated or fines are not paid.

There used to be a requirement to register with Press Standards Commission including setting up an e-screw acount for fines and pre-authorise stories as well as restrictions on publishing work adresses of people though these have now been lifted unless its part of a campaign of harassment.

Society and Culture:Social Conservative relgions like Catholicism , The Orthodox Church or Islam are highly disliked in Strathae.This stems from the days catholic powers tried to force the culture onto the Strathaen people which was resisted sucessfully after the revolt of the Clans. The society in Strathae could be described a liberal authoritarian in political terms, the country upholds LGBT trights including marriage, adopt, have a child via IVF and right to transition and always has and also is highly maternalistic so values women rights including supporting women leaders. Any religion that opposes this or animal rights such as halal slaughter or any meat eating is viewed with disdain. Any religion except Brteizighism is expected to stay out of politics and if they don't then they are expected to pay taxes to the government this includes politics from the pulpit on issues such as gay marriage and womens issues like abortion or issues like contraception.

The society however is not totally free with many people facing shunning in more extreme forms of Breizhghism for "sins" such as eating meat , converting to catholicism or the orthodox churches or other Abrahamic religions. The society also forces vegetarianism and "volunteering" one days labour a week if one wants citizenship or the right to vote.The culture is run along the line of clans each with their own slightly different cultures. Each Clan has its own identity with clan identity often above family with clan members seen as kin. Each person tends to support their own clans in sport with clan competing in leagues and the Cluichí Gael for glory. The Cluichí Gael is much like the olympics except with more local sports like The caber toss, Hammer Throw, Shot Put, Weight over the bar, Tug'o'war though tourists and guests can take part in a guest category.The games are held with a camp around the temporary venues with it moving around each clan area. It is rotated over 100 years with opening ceremonies an honour to hold. The games main events are often held in the clans main stadium for the finals , a smaller version of this is the clan games held midway through the year in all clan areas in order to select competitors at the Cluichí Gael.

Breizhighism and a belief in harmony with animals and nature is core to the culture. It is generally believed if one is to thrive they must respect nature and each other this includes not eating animals and treating all animals with dignity killing them very humanely if you need to and only things seen as important to diet and survival should be farmed for, this mainly means wool, milk, eggs and dairy in Strathae so the main animals in the country are sheep and cows. Farmers try not to kill animals and if an animal needs to die they try to make use of all its products , an example being making pet food out of male calfs and chickens. Cruelty to animals is considered taboo and unnecessary pain is considered barbaric. The country frowns on the rest of Europes treatment of animals. Another part of harmony with nature is making sure you leave as little impact as possible on nature. A unique aspect to culture in Strathae is the casual acceptance in law and society of total nudity even to work, it is left up to the person in alot of jobs whether they go clothed or not , with some faiths calling for nudity unless weather calls for clothing in a bid to reduce your impact on nature., this may also be overridden in jobs or places where hygiene is a concern. Some posh establishments require clothes or formal dress codes but nudity is generally seen as a choice and right as opposed to any crime. Kids are taught nudity is just a normal part of life though this part of the culture is a shock to tourists.

Strathaen Association: An association for Strathaens abroad as students or who just chose to move abroad. They put on events for expats and students and work to promote the arts and culture of Strathae.

Pets, livestock and the law:
The law on pets is strict in Strathae to ensure both sustainability and animal welfare. The first step is to gain a license there are 3 types of license each of which has limits imposed upon them, the first is a standard pets licence , you must prove ability to look after your choice of animal , dog and cat etc and pass the exam for your choices from the permitted pets list most of which follow the lines of Dog, Cat , Fish , Reptiles Birds,Insects ,Horses ,Rodents etc . Pets on the list must be proved to be sustainable, not endagered and not a threat to wild life. The pets must be kept indoors and or controlled outdoors. After you pass your exam you are allowed up to 3 pets of that type or 5 in total in a household of all types though this depends on pet size.

All pets on this licence must undergo neutering after their 4th season to prevent unsustainable populations. The second is sensory pets these must are must also be neutered after 4 seasons of he animal but if for disabled are allowed in any building , if for pest control they must be trained on what they can target and discouraged from eating wildlife.

The third license is a breeding license pets maybe be bred not before what is considered safe and ethical to do so by experts. There is no neutering required but the premises must be proved secure to prevent escape as much as possible and any escape be reported . The animals may be bred until such an age that genetic defects or risk of miscarraige is considered too high to be ethical.

Cats and dogs are required to be kept indoors except under human supervision.

All pets and livestock must be given a gps tracker to easily track them if they escape to ensure they are easily found and identified and these must be kept charged up.There are strict livestock limits per hectare based on sound animal welfare policies.Pet food consumption is the only legal reason to buy meat in the country and you must prove your pet needs meat to get a license to buy meat.

Green Values
While there are major cities and these are sustainable as well most of the population is rural or in small villages and towns. There are genearally 3 categories of settlements at small scale, Clan Towns and Villages these are standard towns and villages run by the clan councils. Then there are eco-communes which are not religious and can be multi-clan and then there is Breizhighist Communes. These are usually eco-focused and run by more traditional Breizhighist faiths with land owned communally, mainly Breizonic or Donohoe operate these and they are owned by the central Breizhighist organisation and run by the villagers and priests.
