Motion on Donated Aircraft II
-
It has recently come to my attention that of the 39 aircraft donated to the European Council as a whole, excluding the Reitzmic councillor, who presumably retains ownership over their own, and with whose the sum would come to 40, 9 remain in our possession, with the remaining 30 having vanished completely, without any record of any transaction, although it is rumored, with some evidence, that they were in some way transferred into the ownership of Iberia. I would at a later date like to launch an inquiry into this matter, but now is not a really appropriate time, at least in my humble opinion.
At this point, these 9 are probably in poor condition and suited for few purposes, although presumably some income may be earned from them.
In light of this, I propose the following motion:
I. Under the supervision of the European Commission, the European Council shall hold an auction for the 9 remaining aircraft in its collective possession donated by the Kingdom of Reitzmag.
II. The proceeds will be distributed to member-states, with each member-state receiving a percentage of the proceeds equal to the percentage it contributed to the last passed European Budget.

First of all, I have to say this is no mystery for me or any Councillor that was here when the fun tale of the 40 Airbus A340 gifted by the Kingdom of Reitzmag took place that 30 of those A340s were sold to Iberia, as they were occupying some nice parking slots on the Europolis International Airport and the European Union had to pay for them, so we would rather sell as much as we could and keep the ones nobody wanted, and that is what was done. Apart from that, what you said about the Airbus that the former Reitzmic Councillor van Allen kept is true, but I don't know if the plane has turned to be his own private plane or maybe Councillor Yahontov from Reitzmag now uses it.
In conclusion, I think this motion is correct and necessary. And as it should receive some more attention, I'll extend the debate for 36 hours so Councillors have a chance to raise their concerns, if they have some, or comment the proposed motion.
Debate will be extended for 36 hours, until 12:04 GMT on October 3rd, 2021.

Thank you for clearing that up. I don’t really want to submit a motion for an inquiry; I was just worried that, perhaps some out of control bureaucrats, without a mandate from anyone, sold the planes, or that they had been stolen. I of course see now that this is not true, but, just out of curiosity, how did it happen? Who was involved, how did it happen…you see, I have a weird quirk. I can’t settle down unless I know absolutely everything. I don’t want to have to worry about something so inconsequential as this. Think of it as a favor.

I'd like to clarify that the aircraft under our possession is owned by the Kingdom of Reitzmag's Office of the Councilor for the European Union and I therefore use the aircraft for my transportation to conduct duties related to my position.
