At which time the voting period will commence until 22:24 GMT on 17 March 2020. Should amendments be proposed, a second voting period on the final form of the motion will commence until 22:24 GMT on 20 March 2020.
Councillor Marion Rousselot
Deputy Speaker of the European Council -
It goes without saying that I wholeheartedly support this motion. I am very distressed to see what has happened in Icholasen, and I hope that the will of the people, and the democratically-elected government of Icholasen are immediately restored to power.
Edward Firoux
Council Speaker and Councillor for Inquista -
I vehemently oppose this motion. The Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia will always support and defend the right to self-determination of all nations and thus respects the changes happening in Icholasen. I am convinced that it would be best if the development in Icholasen would not be influenced by any subversive foreign activity. I am also strongly convinced that the United Nicoleizian Socialist Republics is commited to the same principles as The European Union.
I am insulted by the Section 2 of the motion, as it gravely violates the right of member states to independent foreign policy and could hurt their economies. I therefore propose making the entirety of Section 2 voluntary, rather then mandatory.Václav Kohout
Councillor for Czech Slavia -
Becky Short-Hailey, newly appointed Councillor of Icholasen took to the podium. "I sit here in a chamber full of hypocrites. Each of your nations has a story of national liberation. This is ours. Icholasen will be having new elections under a new constitution soon. Please refrain from your supranational statecraft for one moment please."
Across the Council floor, Poppy Carlton-Romanov (the Second) began to speak. "Councillors, please ignore this complete fanny. Icholasen's legitimate government has been displaced and democracy has ended in Icholasen. I implore the nations of Europe to engage in any action against the communist government. Embargos, blockades, you name it. My patrie weeps."
-
As per the Elected and Accountable Council Act, Mrs. Short-Hailey cannot possibly be recognized as the new Councillor of Icholasen. Mrs. Short-Hailey has been elevated to her post in a manner that meets absolutely none of criteria outlined in the Elected and Accountable Council Act. Since Councillor Carlton-Romanov was already the incumbent Councillor of Icholasen, and was a candidate in the midst of an election process, she will continue to serve as Icholasen's Councillor until the next legitimate councillor election in the country. As Council Speaker, I will only accept the voice and opinion of Councillor Carlton-Romanov.
Security, please escort Mrs. Short-Hailey off the Council floor and to the public gallery where she can heckle as much as she wishes.
