Here is a budget for the continued happiness of Europeans, giving more funding to the farmers and artists of the Union, replenishing the EDA fund to above the level set by the last budget, and cutting down on useless bureaucracy.

I would like to formally apologize for the delay. I originally thought that the budget would be drafted by the next Commission; only when it became clear that our electoral authorities would organize elections only after the expiration of the 2022-2023 budget did I realize that the responsibility fell on me and mine. But here it is, now, for everyone's gratification.

I will remain to clarify any questions you may have.

    Akem Linek
    Premier Commissioner

I must oppose the cut in the allocation of the EDA. We are supposed to be making the EU more relevent not less. This ransacking of the EDA allocation when if anything more funding will be coming in to the EU . There is no reason to cut funding for any agency from the budget. I'd like to question why when we are trying to get the EU to do more the supposedly pro-european politicians are giving it less resources , resiliency and relevence. Do you want another Azrekko embarressment where state actors give enough money for major projects while the EDA has to scale down or deny funding? You may abandon the EU dream I will embrace more and more the ideas and values of cooperation and harmony in the EU and an EU relevent and caring towards its citizens.

Councillor Mizrachi-Roscoe, I am not pro-European. I am pro-giving happiness to the people. And that is what I set out to do with this budget.

To move on to your main point: 19 billion has been spent by the EDA. Therefore, it currently has about 28 billion left in its fund. I give it 25 billion here. This leaves it at 53 billion, which is larger than 47 billion, the amount it had last year. There is no cutting here - only a good and reasonable increase that lets the European people continue to enjoy healthy development as they have in the past.

An Azrekko-style failure, for that matter, is not going to happen. Azrekko requested 3 billion, which is less than 53 billion. 19 billion, which is again the total sum of everything distributed over the last year, is also less than 53 billion. I think that the EDA will be fine.

There are also many reasons to cut agency budgets - if an agency does nothing and has a silly purpose, for example, or if its purpose is bad for the people. That is why a few are being given much less than they were last year. But they are not many, and none of them are very important or effective anyways, and so probably would have been cut by anyone else in my position, even if such person were to have different - worse - principles.

Also, as a last remark: revenue has barely increased.
