Copala City Mayoral Election

The Copala City Mayoral Elections are here. Copala City is a city of many refugees, Inquistan Orthodox, those who fled economic conditions in Icholasen and Czech Slavia, Reitzmic natives to the area, and all manner of other refugees from all over Europe, who flock to Copala City via Kelis Island as it is receiving HUGE investment from Inquista and many other EU nations via the legitimate (and still open!) Invest In Copala City programme.
Copala City has been a building site since April, but new cabins have been supplied by the Romanov Relief Fund, paid for by Queen Anastasia. These have central heating, more insulation, appliances, and can be converted for later use as proper homes. Of course, some are still put up in tents, but the city's building projects are coming along well, with the Romanov Bar and Grill now open!
The election is FPTP, so whoever has the most votes will win.

Name: George Maxwells

Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Centrist, Copalan Nationalist, pro-European Union, anti-Reitzmag, Environmentalist

Short bio: George Maxwells was born in Europolis. After the creation of Copala City, Maxwells was one of the first people to move in. He studied law in the Europolis University and then made a Master's Degree in European Laws, European Politics and Local Organization in Salamanca's University.
Some Policies he would enact if elected: Making Copala City have a status like Europolis' and managed by Icholasen and Inquista, independence from Reitzmag, construction of a Mt. Rushmore, law taxes, try to get new inversions, an airport and ending the no-fly zone... etc. -
Name: Father Peter Bibblefumpère
Party (if any): Nicoleizian Union of Protestant Environmentalists (NUPE)
Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Nicoleizian Protestant, Nicoleizian, Eco-friendly, Christian Democrat

Short bio: Father Peter Bibblefumpère was a Priest in Icholasen before the Revolution, and escaped via a shipment of sardines to Copala City, where he started a mission to proselytise the local population, and other immigrants coming to Copala City. An evangelical, he believes his mission here on earth is to convert everyone to the true religion, the Nicoleizian Church. God is a Nicoleizian.
Some policies they would enact if elected:
- A Copala City Citizens' Assembly to decide the future of the city.
- A ban on gay marriage, abortion, gambling.
- A carbon tax

Name: Victoria Romanov
Party (if any): Romanov Resurgence (RR)
Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Monarchist, Nicoleizian, Reactionary
Colour requested (eg light blue): Lilac
Short bio: Victoria Romanov is 45th in line for the Nicoleizian throne, she is Anastasia's 5th cousin twice removed. She married famous Inquistan footballer, David Beckham but did not take his name. She was in the obscure band 'Spice Girls' which only indie people really know about, and starred in the lowkey, avant-garde film, Spice Girls: World Tour.
Some policies they would enact if elected:
- Erect a statue of Queen Anastasia at least 2cm taller than that of Copala
- Put a statue of Queen Anastasia on most street corners, in the Piazza Copalana
- On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, provide 50% off at the Romanov Bar and Grill and other dining establishments, with her flagship policy 'Eat Out To Help Out', which aims to kickstart the Copalan Economy

Short bio: Theresa June is a Reitzmic-Nicoleizian who resided in Icholasen before the revolution. She was Minister of the Interior of former North Regina, a very right-wing Dominion of Icholasen. When it was phased out, she had had plans to run for a position in the newly formed Regina Assembly but those were cut short when the revolution happened.
Some policies they would enact if elected:
- She would demand a balanced budget
- Trade deals with the rest of the EU
- Policing will be strengthened (as per The Founder's Wishes), while the police budget is cut

Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Conservatism, Pro-EU, Anti-Reitzmag, Environmentalism, Copalan Nationalism
Colour requested (eg light blue): Purple
Short bio: A former senator from Leagio that lost re-election. Houston moved to Copala City as a way to lift it out of its ashes after the Commonwealth of Leagio joined the European Union.

Name: Serena Waterford
Party (if any): New Gilead-Copala
Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Far-Right, Subsidiarity. Christian.
Colour requested (eg light blue): Red
Short bio: is Montenbourgian aristocrat and businesswoman and political figure, known primarily for her tenure as CEO of the Waterford Fund. She subsequently served as Chair of the philanthropic organization Believe+. Waterford was an adviser to christian pastor Frederick Waterford 2008 Prime Minister campaign.
Some policies they would enact if elected:- A ban on abortion and gambling.
- Ensure the subsidiarity of private charities within the city.
- Strenght the police with funds of the Waterford Fund.
- Make Copala City a tax heaven in the region.
- Supports free-market competition in health care.
- Create Concentration Camps for international recognized criminals and Agricultural Colonies to sell goods to other countries in the region.
- Favor public executions and death penalty.
- Creation of fertility centers for women. This center will help the citizens become surrogates for other women in the region.

Name: Kelis
Party (if any): Milk Is Lovely and Flavoursome (MILF)
Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Pro-Milk
Colour requested (eg light blue): White
Short bio: Kelis has been fighting for the legalisation of dairy in Icholasen for more than half a decade. She succeeded in 2015, and Icholasen legalised dairy. However, recently, in 2020 dairy has once again been banned. Having become addicted to, mint ice cream she fled the UNSR and came to Copala City where she could get as much dairy as her and her bad skin could handle.
Some policies they would enact if elected:
- Set up a dairy farm within Copala City City limits
- Work with the RR and Victoria Romanov to have even more subsidies for the restaurant industry, especially ice cream parlours
- Invest in the dairy industry abroad to ensure that Copala City has enough milk

Name: Ricky Martin
Party (if any): Dairy is Loathsome and Foul (DILF)
Description of ideology/appeal (eg, religion, social democrat, etc): Anti-Milk
Colour requested (eg light blue): Black
Short bio: Ricky Martin is the most senior DILF in the Nicoleizian speaking world. He rose the ranks of DILF-hood, and now leads the DILF movement outside of the UNSR. His clear skin can attest to the power of never having any dairy, and he believes if something is just a little bit bad for you, the state should ban it.
Some policies they would enact if elected:
- Ban dairy in Copala City
- If unable to do this unilaterally, call for a dairy referendum
- Sugar tax

Name: Tsaiu T-ueliohen
Party: United Liberals of Copala City
Color: Bright yellow
Description of ideology/appeal: Classical liberalism, anti-communism
Short bio: In 1994, Tsaiu T-ueliohen had become one of the most successful businessmen in Eastern Haane, his family having entrenched itself in the economy after the liberalization of 1966. That year, after massive protests, they would restore order by forming a "Governing Council" from their members. He would take power in 1986. Violent terrorist groups, however, continued to rebel under his peaceful rule, under which labor was much better organized than under the previous tyrannical socialist regime and in which all people were happy in their camps, enjoying sumptuous meals of healthy broth on a twice daily basis. He moved to Copala City quite recently, from the island on which he lived for no reason whatsoever.Some policies they would enact if elected:
- Complete liberalization of the economy
- Destruction of all social welfare
- Banning of subversive political parties that detract from freedom
- Banning of workers' unions, the worst of the scourges of society

Name: Adalyn Fiorza
Party (if any): Orthodox Party (OP)
Description of ideology/appeal: Inquistan Orthodox, Christian Democrat
Colour requested: Light yellow
Short bio: An Inquistan-Reitzmic educator and politician. Fiorza has spent most her career as a Board Representative within the Saint Dominico Board of Education. In 2012, Fiorza was appointed Board Chair of the Federation of Inquistan Orthodox Faith Schools in Reitzmag. Fiorza resigned from her position shortly after the outbreak of the Reitzmic Civil War. Since the founding of Copala City, Fiorza has worked as a community organizer among the Orthodox refugees.
Some policies they would enact if elected:- Codify and protect the clauses of the Nyetthem Accords which pertain to Copala City
- Adopt and follow laws passed by the Inquistan Orthodox Church
- Fund and create a strong school system, with funding priority given to Inquistan Orthodox Faith Schools
- Encourage Inquistan Orthodox citizens in Reitzmag to relocate to Copala City in order to help support the building of the city
Name: Madame Marco
Party (if any): Gay Liberation Front (GLF)
Description of ideology/appeal: Gay Liberation, LGBTQ+ Interests, Straight Scepticism
Colour requested: Pale pink
Short bio: An Inquistan drag queen who has risen to the top of the Inquistan drag scene. Since July 2020, Madame Marco has relocated to Copala City, which has a burgeoning LGBTQ+ community.
Some policies they would enact if elected:- Transform Copala City into a gay enclave
- Mandate that at least 50% of all bars and clubs be LGBTQ-oriented
- Transform the Red Light District into the Pink Light District
- Introduce financial subsidies to the local drag industry
- Ban homophobic hate speech, but allow heterophobic hate speech
- Have Cher create an anthem for Copala City

Description of ideology/appeal: Libertarianism, Pro-Business and Business Interests, Copalan Regionalism
Colour requested: Teal
Short bio: An Inquistan gambling and entertainment magnate who has emerged as one of the largest Inquistan investors in Copala City.
Some policies they would enact if elected:- Abolish all city taxes; transform city into a tax haven
- Reduce all business regulations as much as possible, including labour and environmental laws, as well as administrative regulations
- Create a business environment that invites as much foreign investment as possible
- Legalize all drugs, prostitution, and the ownership of exotic animals
- Champion for Copala City to have even more autonomy than afforded by the Nyetthem Accords; have Copala City seperate from New Moreland, but remain as part of Reitzmag
