      EUROPEAN COMMISSION ELECTIONS

      NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES

It is time for elections to the next European Commission. In these elections all three offices - Premier Commissioner, Internal Affairs, and Foreign Affairs - will be up for election.

The offices of Premier Commissioner and Internal Affairs are subject to a four-month term, and the office of Foreign Affairs is subject to an eight-month term.

Due to term limits, candidates from Angleter and Gallorum may not stand in these elections.

As is traditional, I shall quote the words of our Returning Officer back in January 2011, who opened these nominations thus:

"These elections are supposed to give our member-states fair representation in this region - if candidates cannot take it upon themselves to be active, then I in particular, question their ability and willingness to take part in a body who must be active, accountable and able. I do not wish to threaten nor scare, but I want, for once, our European Commission to consist of Commissioners who are active and who play a part in the region both on and off this forum."

Interested candidates should fill out all information below:

            Candidate Name: Alexander Phillips
            Home Nation: Icholasen
            Office(s) sought: Internal Affairs
            Incumbent? (Y/N): N
            Eurogroup Affiliation: EPA
Biography: Alexander Phillips was born in 1975 in the former Romain Socialist Republic. He is probably best known for being Eilidh Whiteford's Treasury Minister from 2017 to 2019, but Phillips' career started as a businessman in Portland. In 2003, he started working for the Nicoleizian state rare earth metals company, facilitating its transition to privatisation and break up from 2003 onwards. He then became chief executive of one of the new private rare earth metals companies, NREM, in 2005 and lead it to modest success. After leaving NREM in 2007, Phillips started out in politics and joined the NAP, being elected as a Senator in 2008. After 7 years in the Senate, Phillips joined the newly founded Party of June in 2015 and was made Minister for Energy and Climate Change in Cormier's 2015-17 Party of June government. After the 2017 election, Phillips was then reshuffled to Treasury Secretary but left the post in June 2019. During his term in Whiteford's government, he worked on reducing deficit spending and increasing GDP. Finally, Phillips has always been decidedly a pro-EU private citizen and minister, saying in 2018 to the Nicoleizian Senate: "our entrance into the EU in 2014 was one of the most important reasons for the success Icholasen has enjoyed in the last 4 years." This is one of the major reasons he is running on an EPA ticket.

Red Croatia EU last edited by Red Croatia

Blair proudly walked into whatever Europolis building she needed to to nominate herself, elegantly cleaning her red bottom Gucci heels at the welcome mat from the shit she stepped in earlier.

"I've dealt with bigger pieces of shit than you, sweetie. I was on a dating site during my time in Derecta, you know." She said to the poop scattered across the mat before continuing her strut.

Blair was an instant cult icon in Europolis from the moment she presented The Immigration Bill as Red Croatia's first councilor back in 2013, and she continued building her name as a very good Internal Affairs Commissioner and a brilliant Foreign Affairs one. During her time in the Foreign Affairs Office, she realized she needed to take a long, long, long break from Europe and disappeared from its political scene for a good few years.

Now, better than ever, she decided to come back with a vengeance, setting her eyes on what is rightfully her's: a massage with a happy ending in one of Europolis' spas and... Uhh... What was that other thing she was back with a vengeance for? Oh right, the Premier Commissioner spot. That is rightfully her's too. Yeah.

Eager to get to the massage and the Premier position, she got fed up with writing out all the details asked of her in the nomination format, so she looked for something to act offended about to give her an excuse to leave early. She noticed posters of Derecta's boring nominee put on some of the walls and decided that this was evidence of unfair favoritism.

She walked towards the door, paused, looked back and said: "For the record, I am Blair von Schroeder. Queen of Immigration... Ladies, with your permission, you need to put your put your posters of Derecta's nominee back in the Cosmopolitans they were ripped out of. Once again the world has proven: no matter how much support a good politician can gather, a corrupt one can gather more." She shut the door and walked towards her spa.

The staff, confused but frightened by the iconic former Commissioner, decided to fill Blair's application out for her.
