EUROPEAN COMMISSION ELECTIONS
NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES
It is time for elections to the next European Commission. In these elections all three offices - Premier Commissioner, Internal Affairs, and Foreign Affairs - will be up for election.
The offices of Premier Commissioner and Internal Affairs are subject to a four-month term, and the office of Foreign Affairs is subject to an eight-month term.
Due to term limits, candidates from the Duxburian Union may not stand in these elections.
As is traditional, I shall quote the words of our Returning Officer back in January 2011, who opened these nominations thus:
"These elections are supposed to give our member-states fair representation in this region - if candidates cannot take it upon themselves to be active, then I in particular, question their ability and willingness to take part in a body who must be active, accountable and able. I do not wish to threaten nor scare, but I want, for once, our European Commission to consist of Commissioners who are active and who play a part in the region both on and off this forum."
Interested candidates should fill out all information below:

Candidate Name: Eilidh Whiteford
Home Nation: Icholasen
Office(s) sought: Premier Commissioner
Incumbent? (Y/N): N
Eurogroup Affiliation: EPA
Biography: Eilidh Whiteford is the daughter of onion farmers, who, under the first Nicoleizian communist administration (1919-1990) experienced great hardship due to the poor management of collectivised onion growing. Whiteford didn't let this shallot chagrin ruin her life chances though, attending University under communism from 1987 at Saint Pierre University, completing a BA in French. After the fall of Communism in Icholasen, she studied law from 1990-3 in Saint Regina. She then worked in various businesses throughout the 1990s and 2000s, before becoming a LDS Senator in 2012. Then, in 2015, she was one of the founding members of the Party of June, a centrist political party that rose to prominence in Icholasen in the 2010s. This was, however, around the time she left Nicoleizian national politics and got involved in European politics. She was elected Premier Commissioner in 2016, becoming the first EPA Premier in European Union history. Under her term, Eurogroup reform was passed as a result of her drive to encourage participation of member states in the European Constitution. Once she returned to Icholasen, she was elected as Korojaunu in the 2017 election, a position which she held until the communist revolution this March. -

Candidate Name: Dragan Trympov
Home Nation: Pravoslaviya
Office(s) sought: Premier Commissioner; Internal Affairs
Incumbent? (Y/N): N
Eurogroup Affiliation: N/A
Biography:Dragan Trympov is the very definition of the European success story, setting the standards of excellence in his business endeavours, and now in Pravoslaviyan and European politics.
A self-made billionaire, Trympov inherited just a few million Pravoslaviyan dinars and a modest property portfolio from his father, Fridrik Trympov, who had entered the world of business after the fall of Communism in 1989. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Trympov created an empire of skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, golf courses, steaks, board games, and vodka – and much, much more. In the late 2000s, Trympov – already a byword for business success in Pravoslaviya – became even more of a household name as the host of the Pravoslaviyan edition of phenomenally successful TV show The Apprentice.
Most recently, disgusted at the corruption at the heart of the Pravoslaviyan political system under former Prime Minister 'Retard' Apostol Tsrvenovski, Trympov entered politics as leader of the League Against Corruption. He tore up the political rule book and took his message directly to the people, and in 2016 became Pravoslaviya's Deputy Prime Minister, in coalition with Prime Minister Metodi Pravoslav. During his time in office, Trympov has kept his promises to defend Pravoslaviya's borders against illegal immigration, speak out against fake news, and denounce the crimes of Europe's corrupt globalist elite.
Now, Dragan Trympov is taking his movement Europe-wide. He will drain the swamp in Europolis, make Europe safe again by restoring law and order to the EU, stand up to Communism and globalism, and Make Europe Great Again!
