      Nation: The Kingdom of Spain
National Aviation Agency Title?: Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea
Representative to the EAA Council: Dña. Isabel Maestre Moreno
Specific Request Description: The Kingdom of Spain would like to request the European Aviation Agency to change their Aircraft registration prefixes and Airport Code Prefixes, in order to harmonize the national and European prefixes and avoiding confusion, that would compromise the fluency of the air traffic in Spain and its surroundings; as two codes would need to be interpretated instead of just one, which would make it easier. We request the EAA to change the Aircraft prefixes for Spain to EC-XXX and the Airport Prefixed to LE-- (-- denotes airports letters. E.g: LEMD).

      The Kingdom of Spain
His Majesty the King, Felipe VI
      President Alberto Núñez-Feijóo
Councillor and Council Speaker Donald Tusk

At this time the EAA shall approve of the requested to update European Aircraft Registration Codes for Spanish registered aircraft to EC-XXXX. This is a compromise position to keep the Spanish Aircraft Registrations generally in line with the rest of the EAA standards, these registrations do not supercede national ones. The additional letter/number at the end for the registration for all prexisting Spanish Aircraft Shall be "0" to signify they held preexisting Spanish codes which are now up to date with the European Standard.

For example an aircraft previously registered as EC-123 in the Spanish system will not be understood as EC-1230. While a newly registered aircraft will now share a full EAA registration number such as EC-3456.

Due to the way the EAA Airport Code prefixes are established, the first letter designating the country or group of countries with geographic or politically aligned interests, the Spanish request for their airport code prefix to be LE is denied. Currently it is just the first letter used to designate the country an airport is located in, therefore using "LE" would indicate the airport is located in Leagio. At this time the EAA has no intention to expand the Code system prefixes to two letters. The Airport Code prefix for Spain shall remain E--- at this time unless Spanish representatives request a different single letter prefix.

Part of harmonizing laws, standards, and regulations is time. The transition may more difficult for some nations than some, but the EAA is working on making the transition for travelers across Europe seamless, easy, and safe.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

        Signed,
        Kamilla Naess
Director of the European Aviation Agency.

Representative to the EAA Council:The Government of Gania wishes to inform you of the request to change the prefix of aircraft and airports, due to what happened in the last weeks of 2021 when the greatest fall of the national system occurred, leaving an immense problem causing chaos in the control systems. National airlines such as CODA, Aerolines Argentinas, Latam among others requested the change for that reason we request that for aircraft it is: EGG-XX, and for airports AG (which would mean Airports Ganianos

@Kingdom-of-Reitzmag @Ineland The above applications have been filed into the EAA Master Database, some of the requested codes could not be allotted at this time. Please refer any issues or questions to Director Naess's office.

                @GANIA
At this time the EAA shall approve of the requested to update European Aircraft Registration Codes for Ganian registered aircraft to EG-XXXX. This is a compromise position to keep the Ganian Aircraft Registrations generally in line with the rest of the EAA standards, these registrations do not supercede national ones. Currently registered/existing Ganian Aircraft shall have their first "X' alphanumeric symbol be G, and their the last symbol be "0". This will serve to showcase the aircraft held preexisting codes.

For example an aircraft previously registered as EGG-23 in the Gania system will now be understood as EG-G230. While a newly registered aircraft will now share a full EAA registration number such as EG-3456.

Due to the way the EAA Airport Code prefixes are established, the first letter designating the country or group of countries with geographic or politically aligned interests, the Gania request for the "AG" prefix can not be provided. These are just European prefixes and do not supercede national ones at this time. The EAA is working on a cross-national system, and the current airport codes are designed with a single letter prefix, followed by three letter airport codes. Giving the prefix 'AG' would imply the airport is located in Angleter under the current system. For the time being, the prefix provided is 'P', the EAA is open to authorizing a different single letter if requested.

Part of harmonizing laws, standards, and regulations is time. The transition may more difficult for some nations than some, but the EAA is working on making the transition for travelers across Europe seamless, easy, and safe.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
