The Speaker of the European Council has tendered his resignation, which will become effective immediately upon the election of a new Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the European Council.
The Speaker and Deputy Speaker terms last for 18 months, and their roles involve keeping and maintaining Council records, keeping order within the Council chamber, and making sure Council procedures run smoothly and properly according to the law.

Experience:NOMINATIONS start NOW and end at 23:59 GMT on December 30th. Speaker candidates will then DEBATE until 23:59 GMT on January 6th, 2022. A VOTE will then be held for BOTH Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and will last until 23:59 GMT on January 13th, 2022.

Candidate Name: Donald Tusk

Experience: Donald Tusk was born in the autonomous community of Germanium, in Spain, on April 22nd, 1957. He studied history, and graduated in 1980. He has always loved politics and, since he was a teenager, started to enroll on several political associations against the Francoist Dictatorship his country was living under at that moment.During his political career in the Kingdom of Spain, he has been a member of the Regional parliament of Germanium (2005-2019) and the Chancellor of Germanium (2009-2015). That year, he decided to let his friend and former Internal Affairs Commissioner, Jean-Claude Juncker, to run for the Chancellorie, a race he won with a majority. He then was appointed by Juncker as Vice-Chancellor of Germanium, a position he had from 2015 until 2019.
After his resignation as Vice-Chancellor of Germanium, it was announced he would run for Councillor after the Elected and Accountable Council Act (EACA) was passed and all European Countries had to hold elections. He won the race and became the 2nd Councillor for Spain, a position he still holds. In February 2021, he became Deputy Speaker of the European Council, a position that has seen a huge involvement from him. During most of the year, Tusk has been the "acting Speaker", due to the absence of the former Speaker of the Council, Charles Michel, a position that allowed the Council to move.

Experience:James Mizrachi-Rosoce has experience as a business CEO , politician in the Duchies and as a Councillour. He has had to listen to different Duchies and peoples oppinions and take into account all views. He would encourage debate if elected and make sure to take an even handed approach. He has been very active over the year attending almost all the sessions bar the ones where family emergencies meant he was either hospitalised or his family were , he promises to be active and prompt in opening up debates and keeping to a schedule. The efficient running of the legislature is important to him as is using powers fairly so as not the benefit one particular set of nations or councilliours. -

Experience: Cllr Benfield is a long-time veteran of the European Council, having filled the role of the Empire of Inimicus's representative to the Council on and off since 2012, when his nation acceeded to the Union. From healthcare to immigration, from climate change to medieval warming, Cllr Benfield's extensive political experience includes speaking on a wide variety of issues in the European Council and, more recently, the National Imperial Council of Inimicus. His subject knowledge and extensive wit managed to propel him to a highly influential power-sharing position in his own nation in 2018, are appreciated far and wide by those who know him. -

Experience: Iras Tilkanas served as the foreign minister of Istkalen between 1989 and 1997; she later became an important opposition politician during the Social Democratic period. Elected to the Council in 2021, she has proposed a number of groundbreaking legislation, from an act to protect the right to strike and to form unions to an amendment to revive the ECB.; she also has guided Council discussions on important issues, from her own country to the Strait crisis. While willing to speak up against what she sees as injustice, she has always sought to be polite and courteous in her conduct. -
Candidate Name: Yuridiana Yahontov
Councillor country: Kingdom of Reitzmag
Intended Position?: Speaker
Incumbent?: N
Experience: Deputy Councilor to the European Union of the Kingdom of Reitzmag from 2020 until her election as Councilor in 2021. Author of constitutional amendments for emergency legislation (passed), addition of second deputy speaker (failed), and limitation of ECoJ as a court between states (failed). For the entirety of her service in the European Council, she has separated her own opinion from the opinions of the government of the Kingdom of Reitzmag. She remained neutral in most cases, opposing or criticizing anyone or anything regardless of her affiliation.
